A relocation to San Francisco inspired Boston power couple Elise Brandt and Alexander Bain to swap fall foliage in New England for gorgeous grapevines in Sonoma. “Sonoma is considered the birthplace of California winemaking,” says Alex. “Food, artistry and architecture have all taken elements from the agricultural influence.” The weekendlong celebration featured an open structure set among the grapevines, a farm-to-table menu, a pig roast, lawn games and a whiskey tasting. Did we mention the Irishmen in kilts and the Brandt family blindfold dance competition? In-N-Out burgers and fries provided late-night nourishment and, of course, the excellent wine flowed freely.
