The Nights WeWill Remember

Henry Wise Wood presents...

Written and Directed byNora-Jane Bonner

director's notesMy comfort is in performance. I’ve performed with Alberta

Theatre Projects, Storybook Theatre, Calgary YoungPeople’s Theatre, the Juno Awards, and of course Henry

Wise Wood, among others. This is my second (third?) showwith Wise Wood after #Viral and Legally Blonde, the latterbeing sadly left in development after the transition to onlinelearning last March. (Considering that this was only a year

ago, it makes it all the more astounding that this showexists, never-mind alongside two equally cool siblings.)

However, The Nights We Will Remember is my debut as adirector. I feel like the term “director,” in this case, is a bitmisleading. Because I was not the sole creator or visionaryof this project, but instead I am but one member of a team, and I could not have asked for a better team to build this

show with. They are all incredible people who continue toinspire me every time we are in a room together. They’re

creative, strong, compassionate, talented, and above allthey’ve put hours of work and a fair few late nights into this

show, all while navigating an entirely bonkers year andputting up with my shenanigans. I’m so proud of all of

them. I can’t wait to share all of our hard work with you. - Nora

cast and crewThis is Lia’s first full show at Wise Wood as Legally Blondewas cancelled last year. School is stressful, but theatre has

always felt like an escape for Lia and she is thankful for theopportunity that she was given to be in this year’s

production. Outside of theatre, Lia enjoys writing andsinging karaoke with her friends. She also hopes to see more

plays as the world opens back up again.

Emily is very thankful that she was given the chance to take part in creating aproduction during her last year of high school. Emily has been in other

productions at Henry Wise Wood High School, but this is the first one thatshe has been part of that was completely created by students. Emily’s last

production she was in was called #VIRAL, in which she played the role ofMorgan. After that production finished, Emily believed that it was her last

high school production she would even take part in. When she found out thatshe has one more chance to be in a high school production before she

graduated, she was thrilled. She is excited to watch all the work her cast andcrew had put into the making of The Nights We Will Remember as it comes to

life!

This is Seth’s first (and last) show at Henry Wise Wood. When not performing, Seth enjoys playing football,

watching hockey, and customizing sneakers. Big surprise,eh? After high school, Seth plans to take a gap year to

work and play football with the Calgary Colts. After that,he plans to attend the University of Calgary in Political

Science.

cast and crewThis is Chloe’s fourth Henry Wise Wood performance and she is very

very excited to be part of this group. Chloe has been in many otherperformances with her school and has participated in Calgary YoungPeoples Theatre improv and teen scene classes, she was also in the The25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (2018) and Midsummer's NightDream (2019). Chloe would like to thank her lovely family for all the

support that they have given her through out the years. And she is verygrateful for the the wonderful and amazing people she has met while

doing this show. She would now like you to sit back, relax and enjoy theHenry Wise Wood original The Nights We Will Remember written by

Nora-Jane Bonner and the cast.

Hey, my name is Emily and I played the role of Fern, a campcounselor. Being apart of this play was super fun, I was able to

meet some new people and work with others I already knew. Thecast was made up of a bunch of amazing people who made the

show really fun to do, we worked hard to make this work and ourdirector Nora was absolutely terrific and made an amazing script.Outside of theatre I like to do a lot of baking and cooking. I do

track and field, mainly shot put, volleyball and swimming. Idefinitely look forward to being in the school's next production

and some of the sports teams.

Hailey has always been interested in theatre, and thisis her first show at Wise Wood. She’s been apart of

three other shows outside of school, and besidesdrama she is interested in Art and Gaming. This has

been a great time for her to release stress and isthankful for the opportunity to be apart of it.

What’s up warriors!! My name is Lilly Marshall and I playDakota from the show The Night We Will Remember. I am a

senior at Henry Wise Wood and this will sadly be my last showas well. I have been in multiple one act productions put on byHenry Wise Wood throughout all three years of high school. Idid not have very much experience coming into Drama 10 but

with the incredible guidance from Mr. McDonald I am verypleased with my progress. I would love to thank my friends and

family for always supporting me and loving meunconditionally, as well as a big thank you to Mr. McDonald

and the rest of the Arts Department for everything they’vedone.

This is Joanna’s second production with Henry Wise Wood(third, if we include the unfortunately cancelled Legally Blonde).Outside of school, she has participated in a few Quest Theatre

summer camp plays and is looking forward to continuingparticipation in theatre in the years ahead. Next year, she will be

moving on to study psychology at the University of Calgary, where she hopes to continue being involved in the dramatics.

Outside of the theatre, Joanna can be found mostly studying forher classes and having picnics with friends. Rehearsals and the

drama room have been a wonderful place to escape to during thisdifficult year. Even during the periods of at-home learning,

rehearsals for this show were the highlight of Joanna’s week. Theentire cast and crew has put so much work into this show, and she

hopes you enjoy this production.

This is Cate’s first full play with Wise Wood’stheatre department, and she is very excited to have

been part of this production. After not being able tofinish Legally Blonde last year, she was ecstatic that aplay was still going ahead this year, despite the crazysituation surrounding it. She is also a full IB studentwhose only source of sanity is drama and theatre.

This is Gus’s 3.5th show at Wise Wood, (after LegallyBlonde’s tragic cancellation last year.) Outside of

theatre, Gus enjoys being the worlds best Super SmashBrothers player, alongside collectible trading card

games. Yes, he knows it’s nerdy. But blame his olderbrother. After highschool, Gus plans on going toSAIT for a film program. After that, movieland.

Charles is a grade eleven student in Drama 25. After cancellationsand delays caused by the pandemic, the opportunity to finally get

onstage was eagerly received. Learning that the peerless Nora-JaneBonner would be directing our production was even more

promising. In the face of setbacks, of which there were many, I hadthe privilege of working closely with our director throughout the

entire lifecycle of the show, refining lines and characterization, andeven putting together a campfire song to be recorded by the cast

and featured in the play.
