The word of God is pretty clear about how we should approach life and the relationship that the Lord desires to have with us. All that God has done for you and me combined with what He is up to in our present day should lead us to one posture: GRATITUDE.... a heart that is thankful!! In that posture we look around and we notice others. Some are thankful and their lives show it, and others simply have not come to see it. In the 'MERGE' we become agents of the Lord (little missionaries) to a world still stuck. Our job is to merge in – scoop someone out of the darkness and merge back out into the light of God. A grateful heart is powerful and undeniable when it comes to the power of our God in you. 'GoMerge' WE ARE MOVING BEYOND THESE WALLS... and I hope you not only can see the evidence, but are a part of making it happen. Do you see on our logo the words, 'Where Jesus is'? That is the truth. Jesus said in Matthew 25, “whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did for me,” and in the parable of the Good Samaritan Jesus indicated that helping those in need out there in the world, where the Son of Man came to Seek and Save the Lost, is where HE is and therefore, where we as His church must be. Keep your eyes wide open as you live – God is bringing all kinds of hurting people in your path. Be alert and ready to serve our God by touching the world. Connecting people to Jesus and each other

NOVEMBER MISSIONS NEWS

Welcome back Patrick and Heather Cline! They will be with us on November 5th to present an update on the work in Ghana, West Africa during the Small Groups hour.

Following the Hurricane in Puerto Rico, BCC responded to a need to help the Principal of Puerto Rican Christian School, where Craig Beatty served for 9 years. We sent $1000 to the school to help Heidi and her husband rebuild their home, which was completely destroyed. IDES is also helping with $40,000 through the school in Puerto Rico.

IDES also continues to send food and seed to Kenya, which is facing a severe famine. Working through 2 mission partners, they have seen the number of churches grow from 6 to 18 in the last 10 years in the Pokot region as God’s love has opened hearts. These villages want their kids educated and so the 18 churches teach Bible along with English, Swahili, and Math every year for the 8-year program while IDES supplies the lunch for the students. Get more details about their work at www.ides.org under the news tab.

Mark your calendars: our next Food Pack Event is Saturday, July 14th.

Allied Churches will offer Honor Cards again this year to provide a way to send Christmas greetings while also contributing to the fight to end hunger and homelessness in Alamance County. If you are interested in purchasing some, see Steve Dailey. Cards are $5 each and provide much-needed funds.

CICM has received a gift of a Cardiac Cath lab for their hospital in Damoh. The closest one is 7 hours away, so this will meet many needs where heart disease is the #1 killer in India. See www.goo.gl/VNRkd8 for a video.

Waypoint helped launch Movement Christian Church in Knightdale, NC on October 22nd. This was the 6th church in 2017 that they have helped.

Worship Note By David Florence What do we have to be thankful for in our lives? I often hear people speak about how down they feel or how bad things are going, so much so that thankfulness seems to be more of a rarity these days. I rarely hear people be thankful for weather (whether that is sunshine to enjoy or rain for a farmer’s crops), or thankful that they have a job, or thankful that we live in a country where the government does not persecute us because of our beliefs. It is far more common to hear people upset or offended about their situations. What good comes out of being thankful? Psalm 100 says that we as believers can enter into the gates of God’s Presence by simply being thankful. That is the power of thankfulness and thanksgiving. Giving our thanks to God because He is worthy! Thanking Him for a day that saw no disaster. Thanking Him for a day that did not go as planned, perhaps it was even a bad day but He was still there to comfort me and to guide me. Being thankful in the good times and the bad times. Either way, thankfulness still draws me into His Presence. We have the choice to stay in our bad situations or to thank God that He is immovable and unchangeable. Thankful that He never changes, His love never fails, He never leaves us, and He will never forsake us. In fact, Romans 1:21 tells us that a lack of thankfulness will lead our hearts to be darkened, and our thoughts to be turned towards futility. Thankfulness seems like such a small thing, something we often overlook, but it allows us to enter into the gate of God’s Presence! Be Thankful!

LADIES NIGHT OUT November 19th Community Cookies followed by Pizza! We need everyone to bring their favorite holiday cookies so we can put together some cookie trays/boxes to take to our community fire departments, thanking them for

their service. Then we will head to Sal’s Pizza on Huffman Mill! Dutch Treat!
