30A SONGWRITERS FESTIVALin South Walton

8th annualHELLO! & W E L C O M E T O T H E

Our work in the 30A Songwriters Festival is gratifying in many ways, but chief among them is sharing in the positive tone that permeates the community as we all enter a new year and share in the excitement. The weekend is busy and hectic for us professionally, but we love the atmosphere and the emotional bond we all share from experiencing the songs performed by nearly 200 writers and musicians. It is a joy to see all of you sing along, listen quietly, smile, cry, laugh and be moved by the power of music. It is a creative and inspiring way to begin each year – in harmony – and that is too rare lately.

2016 was a particularly chaotic year, in part, due to a protracted and supercharged election, but due also to the loss of some of the world’s greatest songwriters including Merle Haggard, Sharon Jones, George Michael, Leonard Cohen, David Bowie, Leon Russell, Glenn Frey, and Prince. Our community was fortunate to have experienced the magic of Leon Russell at the 30A Songwriters Festival just two years ago. Then last year, we listened to Jackson Browne and JD Souther pay tribute to their friend, Glenn Frey, just days before he passed away.

Over the years, the festival’s closing party has become known as the “Purple Rain Jam,” and it’s not over until the last notes of that anthem fade. We and other Festival staff sat on the sixth row at the Fox Theater in Atlanta and saw what would sadly be Prince’s very last performance. Our staff photographer took the very last shot of Prince on stage. Needless to say, this year’s “Purple Rain Jam” will be a special one.

There IS a moral to this tale…carpe diem! One of our resolutions in 2017 is to hear live music every chance we get, not only by the legends and greats, but also by new artists in clubs and venues we do not frequent enough; and our aim is to make it very easy for you to do the same this weekend. This year’s roster is a mix of new artists who possess such extraordinary talent at a young age that is a matter of time before they become stars, emerging artists who are clearly on their way, seasoned and successful touring artists, and outright living legends.

We are always asked what is the best way to experience the Festival, and these are our suggestions. First, everyone should see the headline acts on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. No matter what your preconceived notions might be about the headline artists, you have not seen and heard them here with this production and together in this order. A lot of thought and planning goes into the lineup and schedule, but our goal is simple. We want you to be blown away, and we promise these will be varied and brilliant performances.

Second, pace yourselves at night. We admire the folks who pick a venue, settle in early and become fans of new music as the night unfolds. It is equally valid to map out a course to catch particular sets. Just don’t cut the timing too close and always review nearby alternatives so you can pivot easily to another show if you run into a full house. Third, many of our venues are also fantastic restaurants - eat great meals! Go all out and try a VIP dinner – it is five-star quality food and service, five-star views of the bay and five-star private music performances. Also, fans of craft beer should not miss the Sunday night show with John Fullbright and Shawn Colvin. And fourth, get up and out early! If you want to extend your stamina and good health, sign up for the Yoga Rocks classes with Eric Paskel. Or if you need a little “hair of the dog,” head to Bud & Alley’s, the Pearl, the Hub (for Jazz) or Caliza (for religion) for the very popular morning brunches.

We thank you for joining us for another year of celebrating the art of songwriting and music. We hope you will “seize the day” and take advantage of the opportu-nities to experience the things you love as often as you can while you can - this weekend and throughout the year!

The 30A Songwriters Festival, now in its eighth year, is the major fundraiser for the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), a private, non-profit 501(c)3 organization that champions the arts through leadership, advocacy, funding, programs and education. The

Festival’s success is critical to the success of the CAA, and your support as a ticket-buyer helps us provide an ABUNDANCE of PROGRAMS, SERVICES & SUPPORT to the community.

Founded in 1993, the CAA continues to fulfill the vision of Walton County’s arts pioneers by distributing net proceeds through the ART FOR ALL PROGRAM, which funds need-based student scholarships, college scholar-ships, artist continuing education grants and grants to other arts organizations, teachers and schools. These grants make it possible to incorporate music, performing arts, visual arts and other art programs into the classroom that are not usually available due to lack of funding. Many of the needs are basic, like books and art supplies; others are for special projects, equipment and instruments.

In May of this year, the CAA opened the first-ever professional artist cooperative, THE FOSTER GALLERY, named in memory and honor of Susan Foster, one of the CAA’s founders and one of the area’s first gallery owners and artists. The Foster Gallery provides an opportunity for 12 – 15 member artists to be featured in a professional gallery setting and also features special exhibits.

The AIPS Program will also include a rotating community exhibit of the 30A Songwriters Festival original art backdrops that are seen each year at the Festival.

The CAA also produces other world-class events…Art Week South Walton, the ArtsQuest Fine Arts Festival, the Seaside Writers Conference, South Walton Fashion Week, and the Flutterby Children’s Arts Festival!

The CAA’s goal is to put Walton County on the map for its cultural and artistic excellence, and the 30A Songwriters Festival, co-produced with Russell Carter Artist Management each January, is proof that music and art are very important reasons to come to visit this beautiful destination.

students to take advantage of these classes at no cost. No one is turned away due to lack of financial means.

Through our new ART IN PUBLIC SPACES PROGRAM (AIPS), the CAA is creating the UNDERWATER MUSEUM OF ART (UMA) in partnership with South Walton Artificial Reef Association. Launching this year, UMA will be the first of its kind in North America. Artists will be called to create permanent underwater sculpture that will be placed on the bed of the Gulf of Mexico (off Grayton Beach) and become artificial reefs that improve the health of our ecosystem.

ADRONAdron is rapidly being recognized as one of the most uniquely gifted songwriters and vocalists of this generation. Named Best Songwriter of 2012 by the Atlanta-based arts and culture magazine Creative Loafing, she has managed to unite audiences from wildly far-flung backgrounds, age groups and subcultural scenes with her universally communicative and infectious music. In a style nearly impossible to describe using the terms of conventional genres, she playfully blends Brazilian samba, bossa nova and Tropicália with Classical harmony, the sincerity and thoughtfulness of singer-songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Harry Nilsson, and the full-bodied rhythms of 1970’s pop and r&b. Outside her own creative endeavors, Adron has collaborated with artists such as Prefuse 73, Helado Negro, The Shadowboxers, Francis & The Lights, and Little Tybee, and performed alongside such historic talents as Os Mutantes and Laetitia Sadier of Stereolab. “By combining elements of surreal, personal narratives and her quasi-Brazilian-style strum, Adron’s songs [are] at once baroque and hypnotic.” – Creative Loafing, Atlanta, GA

AJ GHENT BANDAJ Ghent Band, a 4-piece family unit, constructs an indie rock sound howling from the church to the blues. Their style can be defined as fresh, nostalgic, electrifying, and rootsy,-- fusing the sounds of rock, blues, funk and hip-hop together into a genre they like to call, NEO BLUES. The energy and passion that resonates from their stage is sure to be felt in any audience. The frequencies of the instruments combined into one promote an unforgettable experience that will leave you in a musical daze. Lyrically and stylistically, AJ Ghent Band works to stick to the root of it all - from the depths of the dirt where hardships reside to the jumps for joy in times of celebration. With AJ Ghent on slide guitar and vocals, his wife MarLa Ghent on bass synth, keyboard, and vocals, his sister Tiffany Ghent on vocals and percussion, and their brother Javares Dunn on drums, you are sure to be swept away and entangled by the complex rhythms and rockin’ instrumentals. We invite you into the world of AJ Ghent Band.

CHRIS ALVARADOChris Alvarado is an award-winning singer/songwriter and recording artist who calls the beaches of 30A his home. This year marks Chris’ 7th appearance at the Festival. In 2013, he was invited to perform at the 40th annual Telluride Bluegrass Music Festival in Colorado where he placed 3rd in the Telluride Troubadour Competition. In May of 2013, Chris competed in the Wildflower Music Festival’s Songwriting Competition in Dallas, Texas and walked away with top honors as the Michael Terry People’s Choice Award winner. In 2012, he won the National Recording Academy’s Florida GRAMMY® Showcase. Chris’ music is featured on Pandora Radio and has seen airplay on national web radio programs. He performed on NPR’s, “Radio Live” in 2014, and receives regular airplay on NPR radio WUWF. GigDog Radio, the official radio station for the 2016 30ASWF featured Chris on their Best Of 2014 Album. Chris Alvarado also owns and operates Driftwood Guitars, a boutique handcrafted acoustic guitar company. This year Chris designed and handcrafted the 2017 30A Songwriters Festival Commemorative Guitar which will be auctioned off to benefit the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County. He takes pride in performing his original music on instruments of his own creation.

BRENT ANDERSONBrent Anderson is described by his co-writers as a “creative force”- a songwriter that can play anything, sing anything, and write anything – and he’s just getting started. A Pascagoula, Mississippi native, Anderson’s love for performing and writing songs developed early and by age 13, he had already started his own band. With the support of his parents, Anderson relocated to Nashville and landed his first publishing deal when he was only 15-years-old. Then, in 2009, he signed with Sea Gayle Music Publishing and has since had cuts with Brad Paisley, Tyler Farr, Florida Georgia Line, Dustin Lynch, Maddie & Tae, The Cadillac Three, Danielle Bradbery, and Randy Rogers Band. His credits also include the #1 hit “Lonely Tonight” by Blake Shelton featuring Ashley Monroe and other singles, “Getting Over You” (Jackie Lee), “Cold Beer With Your Name On It” (Josh Thompson) and “Callin’ Me When I’m Lonely” (Sheryl Crow). As a producer, Brent’s credits include Chris Jansen for Warner Brothers, including the breakthrough hit “Buy Me A Boat”, CJ Solar’s debut EP on Sea Gayle Records, as well as several other upcoming project releases.

MURRAY ATTAWAY (GUADALCANAL DIARY)Murray Attaway was the lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist for the legendary Guadalcanal Diary. He released a highly acclaimed solo outing “In Thrall” and scored a number of films, as well as guesting on numerous other projects. When Murray performs solo, he follows no particular agenda. He might bake a pie or attempt to raise an army of homunculi instead.

DAVID BERKELEYCult singer-songwriter-author David Berkeley returns to the festival for his fourth year to celebrate the release of his sixth studio album and second book. He’s been called “a musical poet” by the San Francisco Chronicle and The New York Times writes that “Berkeley sings in a lustrous melancholy voice with shades of Tim Buckley and Nick Drake.” He’s been a guest on This American Life (telling a hilariously awkward tale of a private serenade he was hired to perform) and has shared stages with Adele, Mumford and Sons, Dido, Ray Lamontagne, Ben Folds, Nickel Creek and many more. Berkeley’s latest release is a novel concept: a book of interweaving short stories and an album of accompanying songs, each sung from the perspective of the main character of each story. Sara Watkins sings backup on every song that pairs with a female character. Berkeley’s book and album are rare compliments to each other, opening up a rich and multi-tiered world capable of breaking and healing the heart. Berkeley lived for years in Atlanta and co-founded the ATL-Collective, which he still helps run. He now lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife and two boys. Hear him at davidberkeley.com

DAN BERNA remarkably prolific songsmith, Dan has released some two dozen studio albums, EPs, and live recordings since his first acclaimed Sony-distributed CD in 1997. Either fronting the prodigiously talented band Common Rotation or as a solo performer, he is comfortable and convincing, funny and topical, with an unassuming tip of the hat to the spirits of Woody Guthrie, Johnny Cash, the Beatles, and young Bob Dylan, all while sounding thoroughly original and 21st-century. Dan Bern recordings have featured a host of artists ranging from Ani DiFranco to Emmylou Harris, and he’s devoted entire albums to baseball (Doubleheader), politics (My Country II), and little kids (2 Feet Tall). His singular songwriting has led to stints working on such projects as the Judd Apatow features Walk Hard the Dewey Cox Story (starring John C. Reilly) and Get Him to the Greek (starring Russell Brand). His songs have appeared in numerous TV shows, and he recently penned the theme song for the Amazon cartoon The Stinky and Dirty Show. Dan Bern’s latest album is Hoody, released in September of 2015. He has also recently published his second novel, an e-book including 22 songs, called 10,000 Crappy Songs and Other Tales of Detection.

BONNIE BISHOPGrammy-winning Bonnie Bishop delivered her sixth album, Ain’t Who I Was, on May 27th (Thirty Tigers/RED). Produced by Dave Cobb (Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell), the album features 10 new recordings, including six songs co-written by Bishop. Bishop has grown quite an audience during her dozen-plus years on the road, earning one notable fan in particular, Bonnie Raitt, who decided to record Bishop’s own “Not Cause I Wanted To” for her 2012 album Slipstream. Not only did the song earn Bishop her first Grammy award, but it was named Song of the Year by The New York Times’ Jon Pareles. Bishop’s songs have also been performed by TV star Connie Britton on ABC’s prime-time show Nashville, and she recently celebrated a second Bonnie Raitt cut. The slide guitar legend recorded “Undone” for her 20th career album Dig In Deep, which hit stores in February. “I love her work,” Raitt says of Bishop, with whom she shares a first name and a rootsy swagger. “She has a beautiful soul, artistry, honesty and courage. Bonnie is as gifted a prose writer as she is a musician, not to mention she’s an incredible singer.”

JEFF BLACKJEFF BLACK was voted one of the top 100 Folk artists of the last 25 years by Boston’s WUMB listeners, and has songs cut by artists as diverse as Alison Krauss, Waylon Jennings and Sam Bush. A master songwriter whose albums and soul driven performances have been celebrated for over 30 years, his new album is set for release in spring 2017.

BOUKOU GROOVEThe lively international release of their debut LP in 2012 A lil’ Boukou in Your Cup and the 2015 sophomore release Let The Groove Ride gives Boukou Groove the ability to maintain a dynamic tour schedule. The band provides audiences with a genre-bending collective, touching on elements of New Orleans style Funk, R&B, Soul & Blues. Founded on the stage of Tipitinas in NOLA in 2010, Boukou Groove is the brainchild of singer/producer Donnie Sundal & New Orleans guitar luminary Derwin “Big D” Perkins. Sundal, sharing stages and recording with the likes of Sam Bush, Col.Bruce Hampton and Junior Marvin of The Wailers, creates an infectious blend of energy and enthusiasm as he showcases his multi-octave ranging vocals while sustaining his brand of lavish Moog bass lines. Big D (Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentleman, Bonnie Raitt and Dr.John) provides his smooth and funky guitar licks largely based on improvisation and feel alone. Together, no matter what the venue, the band provides their distinguishing style and creates a kinetic environment that’s easily spread throughout the audience.

CRYSTAL BOWERSOXA northwest Ohio native and Nashville resident, singer/songwriter Crystal Bowersox has been performing for audiences since the age of 10. Her soulful, stirring approach to Americana music has been met with critical acclaim. Crystal has been described as possessing a voice “incapable of artifice” by The Washington Post, and as “having a keen, finely honed pop instinct all her own” by The New York Times. With collaborations that include legendary talent such as the late Joe Cocker and BB King, Alanis Morrisette, Jakob Dylan, John Popper, Melissa Etheridge, and many more, it is clear that her vocal prowess is recognized and respected among her peers.

MARY BRAGG“Honey, you ain’t got nothing to say. Go out there and live a little – come back to me in 10 years.” Those stinging words from a Nashville music executive years ago couldn’t have stung more. But Mary Bragg took that blow-off advice into a journey that transformed the south Georgia native from pop-country wannabe into the striking, vulnerable voice she wears on Lucky Strike, the new full-length album due out Spring of 2017. Described as “a magnificent collection of Americana” by No Depression, her earlier releases have also earned praise from USA Today, Performing Songwriter, and CBS New York, while a song she co-wrote with Americana artist Michaela Anne, “Easier Than Leaving,” was praised by The Bluegrass Situation and featured as song of the week. Winner of the BandPage/Zoo Labs Music Residency contest, and a Kerrville New Folk and Telluride Troubadour finalist, Bragg spent 10 years in New York City before moving back to Nashville in late 2013, this time with plenty to say.

LOGAN BRILLFollowing her sophomore album release Shuteye, 25-year-old Logan Brill continues to define herself as one of the most important young artists in Nashville today. Billboard, The LA Times, Rolling Stone, The Huffington Post, Country Weekly, & Pollstar have already shown their support for her refreshingly authentic sound, imbued with a “bluesy American grit” (Southern Living) that sets her apart as “a far cry from the slick pop country of many of her contemporaries” (The Boot). The Huffington Post dubbed Shuteye a “wake up call for Nashville” and the Knoxville New Sentinel raved she “gives you a little glimmer of hope that good commercial country still exists.” Rolling Stone & Billboard placed Logan on their “Ones To Watch” lists and most recently, CMT named her to their 2017 Next Women of Country program. Logan has appeared coast to coast with legendary artists like Merle Haggard, Vince Gill, Dwight Yoakam, & Leon Russell to contemporary mega-stars like Gary Allan & Lee Brice. In 2015 she made debuts at both the famed North Carolina roots music festival Merlefest, and California’s Stagecoach - the nation’s highest grossing country music festival. She also made her Grand Ole Opry debut, where she continues to appear regularly.

ELIOT BRONSONAward-winning singer/songwriter Eliot Bronson’s latest self-titled album was tracked entirely analog in Nashville by acclaimed producer Dave Cobb (Sturgill Simpson, Rival Sons, Jason Isbell, Nikki Lane). It’s a vibey, ten-song album with an uncluttered production aesthetic that highlights Bronson’s songwriting and his achingly beautiful vocals. “Shaped by the Pentecostal music of his upbringing and the ’60s folk records in his parents collection, Eliot Bronson’s latest self-titled album is an Americana gem. He is a poetic blend of urban coffee house and outskirts-of-town saloon. His deeply emotional lyrics about a wide range of topics have earned the former member of The Brilliant Inventions a host of songwriting awards for good reason.”— Josh Jackson, Paste Magazine

CALLAGHANOriginally from the UK, Callaghan moved to the USA in summer 2010 to record her debut album with Grammy-Nominee Shawn Mullins who describes her as “a voice the whole world needs to hear.” Now after 5 years of playing live and building her audience she’s a headliner in multiple US cities. Callaghan plays piano and guitar and delivers a stunning vocal which earns frequent comparisons with artists like Sarah McLachlan and Emmy Lou Harris. Her thoughtful songwriting captures the extraordinary moments of everyday life. In spring 2015 she released her second album A History of Now to great acclaim. Atlanta’s Creative Loafing describes the album as “tunes to make even the most jaded pop fan grin” and Sirius XM’s Coffee House and BBC Radio 2 are among the many stations on both sides of the pond who have supported the record. Performing live Callaghan’s soaring vocal captures audiences’ attention. Reviewing her recent Nashville show No Depression said “her extraordinary voice truly sets the music apart... nothing short of stunning” and BBC Radio London’s Gabby Roslin described her in-studio performance as “incredible… absolutely breathtaking”.

CAPPS, GRAYSON & CORKY HUGHESGrayson Capps’ Tao-tinged, philosophical reflections – revealed deep inside songs shuddering with spit, stomp and snarl – are as potent as ever. It’s just that this time his bark and bite are more conciliatory towards the unanswered questions mucking up the universe, while country soul-tinged textures and gospel harmonies ease the raw edges. Corky Hughes brings his professionalism and expertise on guitar to accompany and enhance a most memorable live performance! Along with touring together they both enjoy performing and touring internationally with their band WILLIE SUGARCAPPS (Awarded Best Americana Album - 2013 Independent Music Awards). From the magical Frog Pond at Blue Moon Farm in Siverhill, AL to the 30A Songwriters Festival and around the world, get ready to experience a raw, unique, memorable performance.

EDIE CAREY “[Carey] found her true calling in music... her pop-folk songs are smart tales of love, life and longing.” - Chicago Sun-Times. “Edie Carey is gifted with one of those voices that could sound great singing anything…Gentle story-telling, rich with humanity and insight… Vulnerable and pleasing, Carey draws us into her world, where we find we have a lot in common.” - Paste Magazine. Colorado-based singer-songwriter Edie Carey is known for her unmistakably soulful voice, her intelligent, heart-grabbing songs, but perhaps most especially for her warm, engaging presence on -- and off -- stage. Carey has been performing across the US, Canada, and Europe since 1999. Her latest recording, Paper Rings: 8 love stories, is a collection of personalized love songs commissioned by fans. Her previous release, Til The Morning: Lullabies and Songs of Comfort, a duo project with award-winning songwriter Sarah Sample, won Best Children’s Album in the 2015 Independent Music Awards as well as Parents’ Choice and Family Choice Gold Awards. She has performed with the likes of Emmy Lou Harris, Lyle Lovett, Brandi Carlile, and Shawn Mullins, and has been a featured artist on NPR’s Mountain Stage. Several of her songs have been featured in television shows and independent films.

COOPER CARTER“Guitar wizard” and “YouTube sensation” Cooper Carter is thrilled to return to the 30A stage for 2017. Cooper’s signature mix of songwriting and fiery guitar playing has delighted audiences across the country, both solo and sharing the stage with artists well-known to 30A fans – Indigo Girls, The Swear, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, Hannah Thomas Band, Wesley Cook Band, Jessica Cayne, and others. Popular on YouTube, Cooper’s viral guitar work has been featured in Entertainment Weekly, Vox, Guitar World Magazine, Revolver, ClassicFM, and more. As always, Cooper and his band of committed rockers will close out the festival with a set full of fan favorites... and a few special guests joining in for late-night jams.

DEANA CARTERDeana Carter recently released her seventh studio album Southern Way of Life following the successful multi-platinum international debut Did I Shave My Legs For This? that kick-started her career more than a decade ago. Deana has written several of her songs including the No. 1 single, “How Do I Get There” and her most famous hit, the award-winning “Strawberry Wine.” Catching the attention of outlets such as CMT, Billboard and Country Weekly, her superstar success continues to be evident as 2010 chart topper “You & Tequila”, co-written with Matraca Berg and recorded by Kenny Chesney, was nominated as CMA’s Song of the Year, as well as two Grammy nods, notably the coveted Song of the Year, and, also, received a nomination as ACM’s Song of the Year. Deana has also collaborated with Charles Esten to write a song for the hit-television show, Nashville, has helped produce a new album for recording artist Audra Mae and joined The Band Perry for ACM’s Super Star Duets. Carter now divides her time between Los Angeles and Nashville, writing and producing for both the pop/rock and country markets when not on the road touring. Singer, songwriter, producer – Deana Carter continues to defy conventional expectations, making waves as she makes great music.

CARTOON JAZZ BANDActive throughout the southeast region, Cartoon’s own brand of spontaneous music combines traditional jazz and blues, with soul and modern counter-rhythms. An interactive, entertaining experience, fueled by heavy regional influence from the faded parts of America that invented jazz itself. Fred Domulot, Tom Latenser, and Sean Dietrich couldn’t disappoint the listener if they tried.

PETER CASEThree time Grammy nominee, Peter Case’s work sets the bar for authenticity, passion and imagination and spans a number of genres, including folk, blues, and rock. Raised in Buffalo, NY, Case came to the Bay area in 1973 and worked as a street musician and played in the seminal power pop group The Nerves, before moving to Los Angeles to form the Plimsouls, landing a deal with Geffen Records. The Plimsouls achieved success with the hit single, “A Million Miles Away,” which landed them a role in the movie Valley Girl, as the band performing during the club scenes. Case’s 1986 solo Geffen Record debut revealed deep roots in folk and blues, and earned him his first Grammy nomination for the song “Old Blue Car” as well as the Number 1 spot on The New York Times’ 1986 Best CDs list. Six CDs later, Case earned another nomination for Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John, a remarkable collection of songs that features Case’s voice and a single guitar. It’s clear that Case is a major talent on the Americana troubadour landscape.

CHEAP TRICK Cheap Trick is part of the very fiber of American music, inspiring and delighting generations with their unique union of massive melodies and razorblade riffs, their own special brand of mischievous wit and maximum rock ‘n’ roll. Frontlined since 1974 by Robin Zander (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rick Nielsen (lead guitar), and Tom Petersson (bass guitar), the Rockford, IL-born band is set to impact still another era with the spectacular new BANG ZOOM CRAZY…HELLO, their 17th studio collection and first in more than five years. Co-produced by Cheap Trick and GRAMMY® Award winner Julian Raymond (Glen Campbell, Fastball), songs like “Heart On The Line” and the turbulent first single, “When I Wake Up Tomorrow,” are deeply connected to the band’s own irrepressible history just as they accelerate their trademark sound and vision into the now. The glorious “Long Time No See Ya” marks another in a long line of salutations spanning “ELO Kiddies” and “Hello There” to “Goodnight” and “Say Goodbye,” while the piledriving “Do You Believe Me” showcases dueling solos from Nielsen and six-string icon Wayne Kramer – a milestone meeting of the long established Midwestern mutual appreciation society between Cheap Trick and the mighty MC5. BANG ZOOM CRAZY…HELLO prove Cheap Trick to be as energetic and idiosyncratically irresistible as ever before, a callback to their classic canon yet somehow as inventive and exciting as a bunch of crazy kids just coming out of the garage.

CORY CHISELWisconsin native Cory Chisel first connected with the power of song – and the spellbinding possibilities of live performance – through the music he heard in church. His father was a Baptist preacher, his mother played the organ and Chisel and his sister sang. The gospel’s rich vernacular of loss and redemption also informed his innate poetic sense and lyrical range. Chisel went on to become a critically acclaimed recording artist who was deemed one of 2009’s Best New Artist by Rolling Stone for his RCA release Death Won’t Send A Letter. His latest release Old Believers came out in 2012. Chisel has played festivals around the world including Glastonbury, Bonnaroo and Newport Folk Festival; appeared on Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with David Letterman and Conan and opened for artists such as Norah Jones, Emmylou Harris, Jackson Browne, Lucinda Williams and more. His latest recording project seeks to unearth rare soul gems from lesser-known performers of the era and revive them with his soul covers project.

BRIAN COLLINSHailing from the music hotbed of West Georgia, Brian’s hardworking nature has landed him opening slots for reputable artists in every genre. His debut single “Never Really Left” led Brian to be named an ‘Artist to Watch’ by CMA, Billboard and CMT. Brian claimed the title of highest independent charting artist on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart with his uplifting sophomore Top 10 single “Shine A Little Love” which celebrated national media recognition and went No. 1 on CMT’s Pure 12-Pack Countdown for seven weeks in a row! Brian commemorated this success by launching his very own music festival (Shine A Little Love Fest 2015 and 2016) in Florida’s 30a and participating in the 49th and 50th Annual CMA Awards. Brian has performed his current Top 20 single, “Healing Highway” on eight affiliate TV stations across the country, including a cameo on FX Networks’ Archer, while on a nationwide tour as it continues to rise up the charts.

SHAWN COLVINShawn Colvin won her first GRAMMY Award for Best Contemporary Folk Album with her debut album, Steady On, in 1989. She has been a mainstay of the contemporary folk music scene ever since, releasing eleven superlative albums and establishing herself as one of America’s greatest live performers. She triumphed at the 1998 GRAMMY Awards, winning both Record and Song of the Year for “Sunny Came Home.” Her inspiring and candid memoir, Diamond In The Rough, was published in 2012. With the wit, lyricism, and empathy that characterize Shawn’s performances, Diamond in the Rough looks back over a rich lifetime of highs and lows with stunning insight and candor. Shawn’s most recent solo endeavor, Uncovered, is the long-awaited follow up to fan-favorite Cover Girl. Uncovered includes masterful interpretations of songs by Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Tom Waits, Stevie Wonder, Graham Nash and more. In June 2016, Shawn Colvin and Steve Earle united to release, Colvin & Earle, their acclaimed self-titled duo album. Fueled by their longtime friendship, Colvin & Earle beautifully captures the pair’s extraordinary chemistry and is a true standout in careers already filled with pinnacles and masterpieces. Shawn was recently recognized for her career accomplishments when she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Trailblazer Award at the 2016 Americana Honors & Awards Show. Presenting her with this prestigious award was Bonnie Raitt.

CONTINUUMFlorida Panhandle-based Continuum is a 4-piece band that has coined the term Electronic “Soulk” (a combination of Folk and Soul) to describe their own singular and unusual style. Following up on the independent release of an EP (Cover Up), a full-length (LOUD), and a live album in just 18 months, they’ve rapidly grown their fan base both regionally and nationally as they’ve spent the majority of the last year bouncing across the US multiple times and releasing a variety of music videos that document both their journey and growth as a band. The passion and determination of these four 20-somethings is evident in everything they do and can absolutely be heard on any of their albums. When you see them live, however, it hits you like a moving train - and rest assured, their train is moving fast and you’ll want to hop on!

WESLEY COOK“Upbeat positivity is a Wes constant, in his music and his attitude”, said Rolling Stone magazine of the blue-eyed songsmith. Georgia Music magazine said that “[Wesley] may just be the next big thing” in a recent publication and he was recently dubbed “Best Atlanta Singer-Songwriter” of 2014 by Jezebel Magazine. Long before these accolades, Wesley Cook was raised in places like small villages in the former West Germany and a city in South Korea where he learned from an early age the many things that all people share beyond language and culture. “My passion in life is to speak the universal emotion of love through the universal language of music”. As a songwriter, listeners are sure to hear the familiar world and rhythmic influences of Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Jason Mraz and many more, although he captures a sound that is very much his own. “He’s one of those artists that is very tough to classify… again, that’s fine with him….” said Billboard.com. As a front man, his high-energy showmanship and down-to-earth charm makes it impossible for the crowd not to love him. Wesley has shared the stage with artists such as Zac Brown, Sublime, Santigold, Tonic, Edwin McCain, Manchester Orchestra, Marc Broussard, Ben Rector, Angie Aparo, Drivin’n’Cryin, Mishka and more.

COURTYARD SAINTSThe Courtyard Saints is a band founded by Mike Whitty of The Thompson Brothers Band and Pale Blue Dot, and Brad Shankwiler of Grayton Beer Company. The Courtyard Saints perform as an acoustic duo, trio, or full five piece rock and roll outfit. Their 2012 debut Sunshine State is a spirited tribute to the early days of rock and roll recorded by Grammy-nominated producer Andrijah Tokic. They enlisted the help of Micah Hulscher, (Wanda Jackson, Los Colognes) on piano, organ, and accordion , Trey McClemore, (13 Ghosts and Birmingham rock and roll legend) and Graham Fitzpenn, (Majestico and other East Nashville bands) on drums. To help capture the “live in the studio” sound of the fifties and sixties. Their influences range from the “folk gone electric” songs of Bob Dylan to the surf bands like Jan and Dean and the Beach Boys. The Courtyard Saints have a reputation along the 30A/South Walton beaches for never phone it in live performances, with dance your ass off original songs. The Courtyard Saints roster includes Mike Whitty on lead vocals, rhythm guitar, harmonica and bass, Brad Shankwiler on percussion and vocals, Trey McLemore on guitar and vocals, Marcus Buckner on guitar bass and vocals, and John Reinlie on drums and vocals.

HANNAH DASHERWith influences spanning from Dolly to Aretha; to Eric Church and Tom Petty, one might describe Hannah Dasher’s sound as, “Hot Chicken…with Honey.” Hannah is the newest writer on Nashville’s Sony/ATV roster. Earlier this year, she scored her first cut on Brad Paisley’s upcoming album. (You’ll hear her lending background vocals to the track). Over the past year, Hannah has made appearances with Jon Pardi, Eli Young Band and the Cadillac Three. She is currently working on her debut album with producer Jaren Johnston, a multi-platinum hit-songwriter, rock singer, and frontman of the Cadillac Three.

ELISE DAVISVulnerability and carnal desire go head-to-head on Elise Davis’ The Token. Story and storyteller are one and the same. “I really can’t express my vulnerable feelings – especially towards men I’ve had feelings for over the years,” Elise confesses, “But, I have no trouble writing down painfully honest lyrics about it.” The Token puts a microscope on the southern dynamic between the sexes, and the Little Rock, AR native’s inner turmoil, founded on her life’s trajectory against a more traditional path. Elation and ache play a tug-of-war.

BRIGITTE DEMEYER & WILL KIMBROUGH Brigitte DeMeyer and Will Kimbrough have independently released multiple solo albums. A multi-instrumentalist and the 2004 Americana Music Association’s Instrumentalist of the year, Will has also collaborated with Rosanne Cash, Guy Clark, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris, Mark Knopfler, Buddy Miller, John Prine, Billy Joe Shaver, Todd Snider and Mavis Staples. In 2014, Will released Sideshow Love – an in-depth study of all forms of love and a showcase of his incredible guitar chops (awarded the 2014 AMA Americana Top100). Will is also a member of Willie Sugarcapps, a band awarded 2013 Independent Music Award – Best Americana Album. Brigitte brings her very distinctive vocals/harmonies and storytelling expertise to the mix. Is it Southern? It’s definitely Soulful and the chemistry between Brigitte DeMeyer and Will Kimbrough is magical. Will and Brigitte are – not to be missed – rare and extraordinarily rich blend of talent and passion.

KRISTIN DIABLEKristin Diable’s unabashed talent has been wowing for years ever since she picked up an open mic at a lounge in her native Louisiana and stunned the audience into silence. Her sound “incorporates aspects of classic pop, swamp, jazzy rockabilly and smooth country by way of Patsy Cline, all filtered through a lens that neatly walks the line between Chris Isaak and Roy Orbison.” Her newest album Create Your Own Mythology (produced by Dave Cobb), “tapped into a muse that is diverse, distinctive and delightfully edgy…the only problem may be trying to top it.” (American Songwriter’s Top 50 Albums of the year). Kristin has performed at Austin City Limits, New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, opened for greats like Lucinda Williams, and her song “Honey Leave The Light On” was featured on prime-time TV series Hawaii-Five-O. Critics agree – “look for Kristin Diable to be one of the year’s breakout artists” (American Songwriter 4-Star Review). “Diable’s bluesy rock gets Nashville glitz on this tambourine-bolstered barn-burner that rolls in like a summer storm and blooms like Southern magnolia.” – NPR’s Best Songs of the year. “She can croon, she can holler, she can sing, she can do it all! She can crush it!” – Katie Presley (NPR’s All Songs Considered)

DON DIXON & MARTI JONESMarti Jones & Don Dixon are known for their intelligent songwriting, sweet and sour vocal blend and general irreverence. They met at the Cleveland Airport on New Year’s Day 1984, began working together, became friends and got married in 1988. They have supported each other over the ensuing decades both actively and passively - singing, writing songs, raising children - cheering each other along every step of the way. Their combined careers have produced over three hundred recorded songs and thousands of performances across America and Europe. Though they both have varied interests, singing is still a part of their lives and they still go on the road occasionally. so keep your eyes open for them in a town near you.

DR. JOHN & THE NITE TRIPPERSCultural icon Dr. John, a 6-time GRAMMY Award-winning musician and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, started out writing and recording in New Orleans with Professor Longhair, Allen Toussaint and more. Dr. John headed to Los Angeles in the ‘60s, playing on albums by Sonny and Cher, Aretha Franklin and The Rolling Stones. His album Sun, Moon and Herbs included cameos from Eric Clapton and Mick Jagger, and In The Right Place contained hits “Right Place Wrong Time” and “Such A Night.” He was inspired to record Ske-Dat-De-Dat: The Spirit of Satch – a tribute to Louis Armstrong - when Satch came to him in a dream and said “Do my music, your way.” The album, co-produced and arranged by Dr. John’s Musical Director Sarah Morrow, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Jazz Chart. His “Bare Necessities,” also produced by Morrow was featured in Disney’s blockbuster The Jungle Book. Dr. John’s new CD / DVD Set The Musical Mojo of Dr. John: A Celebration of Mac & His Music debuted at the top of the iTunes charts with tracks including critically acclaimed versions of “Right Place Wrong Time” with Bruce Springsteen.

DRIVIN N CRYINCelebrating their 30th Anniversary together, Atlanta-based southern hard rock act Drivin n Cryin charged into 2015 with plans for a new studio release and a whole lot of touring! In October 1985 Drivin’ N’ Cryin’ played their first show at Atlanta’s famed 688 Club. The band quickly gained attention for its blistering live shows and amassed a rabid fanbase in the fertile soil of the late-1980s music scene in the Southeast. Now 30 years later, founding members Kevn Kinney and Tim Nielsenfind themselves enjoying a milestone anniversary for the band, having survived the pressures of fame, a shifting musical landscape, multiple lineup changes, and miles of back roads and highways to arrive here. With a gold record, 10 full-length albums and a handful of EPs to their credit, the band still refuses to rest on its laurels, adding Jason and the Scorchers axe man,Warner E. Hodges, to the lineup, and continuing to tour the United States and Europe to great acclaim. In 2015, a vinyl-only collection of 10 choice cuts from the band’s 4-EP Songs series, entitled Best of Songs, will be released on Nashville’s Plowboy Records. Comfortable with their past and confident in their future, the band has an arsenal of songs, a full tank of gas, and no plans of stopping any time soon.

KEVIN KINNEY (DRIVIN N CRYIN)Highly-acclaimed singer-songwriter Kevn Kinney is most widely known as founder and frontman of Atlanta-based rock band Drivin-N-Cryin. An accomplished musician, poet and painter, Kinney has released multiple critically acclaimed solo and band recordings during his career having also collaborated with Warren Haynes, REM, The Who and John Popper, among others. Kinney continues to tour with Drivin-N-Cryin and has simultaneously carved out a niche for himself as a solo artist. From the festival stage to the smallest house concert, fans are always excited at the opportunity to see him up close and personal in a stripped down acoustic setting. Kevn will release a new solo project in 2015.

KENT DUCHAINEFor fifty years, Kent DuChaine has traveled around the globe with “Leadbessie,” his duct-taped 1934 National Steel Guitar. Over the decades, DuChaine has shared the stage with such music icons as Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Big Mama Thornton, Koko Taylor, B.B. King, Albert and Freddie King, Willie Dixon, Bukka White, Robert JR Lockwood, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Furry Lewis and Son House. In 1989, DuChaine teamed up with Johnny Shines, a man who spent more than three years on-the-road with the mythical Robert Johnson in the 1930s. Together, DuChaine and Shines recorded Back to the Country, which won the coveted WC Handy Award for Best Country Blues Album. They were invited by the Smithsonian Institute to perform at the 25th Annual Festival of American Folklife, resulting in the Grammy-nominated, Roots of Rhythm & Blues: A Tribute to the Robert Johnson Era.

WYATT EDMONDSONWyatt Edmondson (22 years) is an American singer/songwriter from Montgomery, AL. Writing and performing music has been a passion of Wyatt’s since his teenage years, and he spent many weekends as a high school student playing gigs and writing songs. In 2012, Wyatt began studying at Troy University and John M. Long School of Music as a Music Industry major. While studying at Troy, Wyatt released his debut EP Higher Ground on March 20, 2015. From the stage to the studio, his popularity has grown rapidly as a performer, and his latest EP Lovers Lake to be released December 2016, is a testimony to his continued growth and success. Along with his own music, Wyatt enjoys writing, producing, and collaborating with other artists, and has been a part of 6 studio projects (3 as the producer as well as an artist). Although not known by many, Wyatt is visually impaired and was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa at age 5; a retinal degenerative disease causing progressive blindness. Despite this, Wyatt continues to excel in his passion for music and live performance, and consistently pushes the envelope for entertainment. ROBERT ELLIS Robert Ellis has named his new album after himself and the reason is clear. The album is both his most personal statement yet and a summation of his career thus far. Robert Ellis opens with “Perfect Strangers,” a meditation on what brings people together (and how tenuous that connection can be), and ends with “It’s Not OK,” a raw look at emotional compromise. Between those two powerful bookends are nine other songs that set Ellis’s soaring vocals and knowing melodies against his sharp, dark observations, and that show him in full command of a vibrant set of songwriting skills—irony, distance, character, narrative, a thoughtful relationship between sound and sense. Drawing influence from some of the smartest and sharpest of the class of songwriters who developed in the 1970s: artists like Paul Simon, John Prine, Joni Mitchell and Randy Newman, Ellis has a respect for tradition, but more specifically for the fact that so-called traditional artists were in fact consistent risk-takers. In the end, Robert Ellis (the album) is the most accurate reflection yet of Robert Ellis (the man). It’s analytical and emotional, calculated in spots and improvisational in others, restless, peaceful, never indifferent, never dispassionate.

FAREWELL ANGELINAFarewell Angelina is an all-female country group featuring four powerhouse vocalists, dynamic songwriters and bad ass multi-instru-mentalists. Together their magic blend of a multitude of stringed instruments, blazing twin fiddles, and unique harmonies light up their live shows that bring down the house. Singer, fiddle player and awarded songwriter Nicole Witt and renowned fiddle/mandolin virtuoso Andrea Young teamed up with noted Nashville harmony singer and solo artist Lisa Torres in late 2014. Their clear writing chemistry, creative drive and blazing performances soon caught the ears and eyes of producers Jen Ketner and Keith Stegall (Zac Brown Band, Alan Jackson, Darius Rucker). 2016 celebrated the release of their debut EP on Stegall’s Dreamlined Entertainment – and appearances at the ACM Fan Jam, CMA Fest, a 75-city radio tour, festival dates at Creek Fest and Trails West. In late summer 2016 they added ACM and Tony Award nominee Lauren Lucas, adding yet another lead vocalist and stellar guitarist to the mix. Their single “If It Ain’t With You” was released Oct 17 making it the Top 10 most added to country radio. Rolling Stone Country named Farewell Angelina their “10 New Country Artists You Need To Know” - September 2016.

DAVE FRANKLINDave Franklin is a renowned singer-songwriter from the Atlanta music scene, and former member of the legendary Atlanta alternative rock band, Hollyfaith. Franklin has also toured and recorded with Drivin’ N’ Cryin’, Kristen Hall, Billy Pilgrim, and opened for Johnny & June Carter Cash, Sinead O’Connor, and Jewel. Dave has released 3 full-length critically-acclaimed albums and is currently working on his fourth.

JONNY FRITZJonny Fritz is back - with a new album, a new hip, and a new home base in LA. Recorded in three days, Jonny’s newest album, Sweet Creep, includes the lyricism of his debut, Dad Country, with an added air of hopefulness. It also features Jim James at the producer’s helm, plus Dawes’ Taylor & Griffin Goldsmith and fiddle player Joshua Hedley as the backing band. A torchbearer in the celebrated country music tradition of giant-sized personalities overflowing into song, Jonny Fritz delivers the life, outrageous legend, and showmanship that fans of John Hartford, Roger Miller, and Billy Joe Shaver would appreciate. He might not have shot anybody, or spent any (considerable) time in prison, but on Sweet Creep, Jonny reminds us that sometimes great lives can also be pretty good ones.

JOHN FULLBRIGHTJohn Fullbright got his start at the legendary Blue Door listening room in Oklahoma City. It was there that he recorded a live album and found his base, opening for many other writers including fellow Oklahomans Kevin Welch and Jimmy Webb. His 2012 studio debut, From the Ground Up, received a Grammy nomination for Americana Album of the Year, and later that year he won ASCAP’s Harold Adamson Award for lyric writing. In 2014, John released the critically acclaimed Songs, toured all over America and the UK, and appeared on Late Night with David Letterman.

CONNOR GARVEYConnor Garvey is a nationally touring singer-songwriter from Portland, Maine, with the amiable presence of an entertainer, the lyrical depth of a poet, and the enchantment of a storyteller. This combination of songwriting and performance strength has earned Garvey numerous accolades including being named winner at the Kerrville Folk Festival, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest, Wildflower & SolarFest songwriting competitions as well as The Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Most Wanted Artist. He wins competitions but far more importantly he wins over hearts of those engaged with his music. He fills rooms but far more importantly he moves people.

DEREK GEORGEDerek George has done it all. He has run publishing companies and recording studios, he’s an accomplished producer, session singer and guitarist, and has written hit songs and had over 40 cuts with artists including Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker and more. Derek was Bryan White’s bandleader and songwriting collaborator throughout Bryan’s career. He wrote some of Bryan’s biggest hits including “So Much for Pretending,” “Look At Me Now,” and “Bad Day To Let You Go.” During this same time period, another of Derek’s songs, “Imagine That,” recorded by Diamond Rio, became one of the most played songs of 1997. Since 2013 things began to really take off for Derek as a writer and producer. He signed to Warner Chappell and produced Randy Houser’s How Country Feels album which yielded four Top 5 Singles “How Country Feels,” “Running Outta’ Moonlight,” “Goodnight Kiss,” and “Like a Cowboy” along with the lead single off Houser’s follow up album We Went. He produced Joe Nichols’ hit “Sunny and 75” and co-wrote Jerrod Niemann’s hit “Drink To That All Night” and also produced and co-wrote Chase Bryant’s “Little Bit of You” and “Room To Breathe” which is currently climbing the charts.

BEN GLOVERTwo-time Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer Ben Glover has penned over thirty-five #1 hits in multiple genres of music and was named ASCAP’s Christian songwriter of the year in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2016. The Colorado native moved to Nashville in 2000 after signing his first deal the year prior. Originally getting his start as an artist, Glover spent the early part of his career touring, but quickly discovered he preferred the lights of a studio to the ones on a stage so he chose to get off the road and focus his attention on the craft of writing and producing songs. The results of that decision proved successful as Glover wrote hit country songs “Hard to Love” by Lee Brice and “Love Don’t Run” by Steve Holy, along with numerous Christian music hits including Mandisa’s Grammy Award winning “Overcomer.” Glover has also achieved some notable success as a producer, writing and producing songs for MercyMe, For King & Country, Danny Gokey, and Lindsay Ell to name a few.

KEVIN GORDON“He’s amazing.” –Jim Lauderdale “Dude’s a juke-joint professor emeritus”--Rolling StoneKevin Gordon, Louisiana-born songwriter who’s earned raves from media, musicals peers, and fans in equal measure, released his latest, ‘Long Gone Time’ to critical praise from American Songwriter, Pop Matters, Off beat, & others. Hitting #26 on the Americana Radio Chart, the album also attracted the attention of NPR’s World Cafe and Folk Alley; Gordon performed live as a featured guest on both programs. Praised by NPR, The NY Times, & USA Today, Kevin Gordon’s songs have been covered by everyone from Keith Richards and Levon Helm to Irma Thomas and Todd Snider. In his illustrious two-and-a-half decade career, Gordon has shared stages with Snider, John Prine, Leon Russell, Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown, and the Blind Boys of Alabama among others, played the storied New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival multiple times, and earned the respect and admiration of his peers and a slew of musical icons.

JOHN GORKANow with this, his 11th studio album, he returns to his roots with So Dark You See, his most compelling and traditional album to date. It has been widely praised as some of John’s finest work. In addition to his 11 critically acclaimed albums, John released a collector’s edition box featuring a hi-definition DVD and companion CD called The Gypsy Life. Windham Hill has also recently released a collection of John’s greatest hits from the label called Pure John Gorka. Many well known artists have recorded and/or performed John Gorka songs, including Mary Chapin Carpenter, Nanci Griffith, Mary Black and Maura O’Connell. John has graced the stage of Austin City Limits, Mountain Stage, etown and has appeared on CNN. His new song “Where No Monument Stands” is featured in the upcoming documentary Every War Has Two Losers, about activist Oregon Poet Laureate William Stafford (1914-1993).

GRANVILLE AUTOMATICLed by a modern-day Linda Ronstadt, Granville Automatic writes songs the Associated Press calls “haunting tales of sorrow and perseverance.” With influences as diverse as Emmylou Harris, Ryan Adams, The Smiths and Dawes, Granville Automatic has created a quiet and lyrical sound that revolves around their passion for storytelling. The duo, comprised of BMG Nashville songwriters Vanessa Olivarez and Elizabeth Elkins, is named after a 19th-century typewriter. The girls’ devotion to the project has proved a chaotic road of back-breaking touring, interpersonal tension, former-day-job balancing, other-band leaving, and a love-hate dynamic that brought them from Atlanta to Nashville. Theirs is a creative partnership reminiscent of Lennon-McCartney, a dreamer-doer, accessible-obtuse, country-rock collision of two polar opposites. What the two share, however, is a love for nostalgia: old records and antiques, tarot cards and dusty books, ghosts on battlefields and lost stories from the past. That common ground has produced three albums widely praised by The New York Times to an Editor’s Pick in No Depression. Olivarez and Elkins have written songs recorded by country stars Billy Currington, Sugarland, Wanda Jackson and Angaleena Presley. They were the Composers in Residence at Seaside, Fla.’s Escape to Create program. You may have heard their songs on ABC’s American Crime and The Lying Game, and Netflix’s The Ranch.

TOM GRAY (THE BRAINS)In 2008 the American Roots Music Association named Tom Gray Blues Songwriter of the Year. But Tom’s music ranges far beyond the blues. His songs have been recorded by Cyndi Lauper (several, including the hit “Money Changes Everything”), Manfred Mann, Carlene Carter, Bonnie Bramlett and many other artists. Tom was born in Washington D.C. and grew up in Virginia and Georgia, where he lives today. But home has always been the family farm in the North Carolina mountains where he spent summers as a child and which he and his siblings bought back in the 1980s. About that time Tom picked up his first lap steel guitar. He hasn’t put it down yet. Originally a keyboard player, in the early 1980s Tom led a rock group, The Brains, that recorded two albums on Mercury Records and an EP on Landslide Records. Today Tom tours internationally with the award-winning blues-based band Delta Moon and performs as a solo artist. Delta Moon’s latest album, Low Down, was named one of the best of 2015 by both Downbeat and Blues Music Magazine. Tom’s other interests include family, vegetable gardening and aikido.

GURUFISH“Sexy, funky-as-hell, pop music” is what critics are saying about Gurufish (Ear Magazine). Electrifying audiences everywhere with their own provocative blend of pop, funk and soul, Atlanta’s Gurufish is best known for their high-octane live show fueled by irresistible melodies wrapped around hypnotic, funky grooves. After a great start to 2015 with a sold out showcase at SXSW, Gurufish was just recently listed by PASTE Magazine as one of the 25 Georgia Bands You Should Listen to Now, as well as honored with the distinction of being recognized by the GA Music Awards as the Georgia’s Best R’nB/Funk Band. They’ve rounded out this year with a feature performance on the CW network’s The Originals. Founded by singer/songwriter/producer Jimmy St. James who is accompanied by co-writer Matty Haze on guitar, Juan Woodfork on bass, and Steve Dixon on drums, Gurufish performs live as an 8 piece band that includes a horn section and a glamorous ensemble of freaks! They are currently playing dates in support of their critically acclaimed release, Mohair Supreme, while recording and preparing for a new release in the spring of 2016.

BLAKE GUTHRIEFrom American Heritage and Merriam-Webster: Blake Guthrie [noun, transitive verb]: song-poet in the vein of Dylan, Springsteen, Lou Reed, Johnny Cash and Jonathan Richman [see also: singer and guitarist with a writing problem; folk music for people who are turned off by folk music; also, a person who wants you to think that he didn’t write this himself so you’ll think he’s more of a big deal than he really is.]

SARAH LEE GUTHRIE Sarah Lee Guthrie’s lineage is undeniable. But if you close your eyes and forget that her last name is synonymous with the river-legacy of a widening current of American folk music, you’d still be drawn to the clarity and soul behind her voice. There is a gentle urgency to her interpretations of the songs she sings and the classic music of her heritage. It flows from the continuity of her family, her vital artistic life today and the river of songs that have guided her to where she now stands. Over the last two decades on the road and in the studio, she and her husband Johnny Irion have created a signature pop-fused folk-rock sound that is appealing and engaging on series of critically-acclaimed albums Exploration, Folksong, Bright Examples and Wassiac Way. On 2009’s Go Waggaloo she created a family album of original songs (and a few with Woody’s lyrics) that won a Golden Medallion from The Parents’ Choice Foundation. Sarah Lee Guthrie now ventures on a road that leads back to the rich culture of her family running through the warmth of her own bloodlines. This is rare opportunity to witness the growth of one of America’s finest young folk singers.

DAVID RYAN HARRIS (JOHN MAYER BAND)Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist David Ryan Harris always sings, writes, and performs with soul. Whether it be in early bands such as Follow For Now and Brand New Immortals or over the course of six full-length solo albums, he tells stories that resonate. He’s carried this same spirit while performing with the likes of John Mayer, Dave Matthews, and Santana or producing for Cassandra Wilson and Guy Sebastian – with whom he co-wrote the RIAA platinum-certified Battle Scars. Most recently, it drove 2015’s Lightyears, which boasted guest spots from John Mayer, India.Arie, and Nikka Costa. He received acclaim from All Music Guide, Glide Magazine, Elmore Magazine, Performer Magazine, AXS, Relix Magazine, and many others in addition to performing on Fox, CBS, and The CW in between packed tours. His next chapter unfolds on his 2017 seventh offering Songs For Other People. In order to track Songs For Other People, he tapped the talents of drummer Terrence Clark who he met on YouTube, keyboard player Zach Ray, and GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Mike Elizondo [Eminem, Dr. Dre, Fiona Apple, Maroon 5] on bass. They cut the album’s seven jams in less than three weeks’ time during 2016. Between returning to the road on guitar duty for John Mayer in 2017, Harris will be performing across North America on solo shows.

MARC HARRIS & JAB WILSONBorn and raised in Nashville, Marc Harris spent much of his early childhood in his Father’s apparel store, which outfitted some of classic country’s legends. Influenced by the greats of country & rock, Marc developed his own twangy melodic sound. After touring as a sideman for country artists throughout the 90s, Marc moved to Point Washington Florida in 2001 where his creativity and songwriting flourished. The Athens Flag Pole referred to Harris’ music as “Guitar Strong Modern Rock,” while the Destin Beachcomber described it as well crafted, and accessible to twang lovers and haters alike.” The Birmingham weekly aptly called Marc’s music “A Mix of Renegade Country and Beach Tinged Tunes.” Jab Wilson has traveled all through the US and Europe playing electric harmonica with artists Like Kate Taylor, J.D.Souther & Spencer Bohren. Jab went on to form the band the Underdogs in the 90S and his Song “Florida Bound”; recorded by the Underdogs, has been used in the Orange Bowl and on ESPN. Harris & Wilson met in South Walton County Florida and Started working together in 2010.They can be seen performing as a duo or with his band Mojo Rising, throughout the South.

EMERSON HART (TONIC)It’s a good album title, Beauty in Disrepair. A telling one, too. There’s a yin and a yang there. It’s a thread that Emerson Hart, frontman for the multi-platinum band Tonic, comes back to time and again on his new record, his first solo release in over six years. On his new record, Hart touches on loss, but also the beauty of rebirth, newfound love, family and starting a clean slate. Beauty in Disrepair marks a remarkably polished and honest follow-up to his 2007 solo debut Cigarettes & Gasoline, a critically-acclaimed album that spawned two Top 20 singles. You may very well know Hart from that record. Most likely, you recognize him as the frontman and songwriter for Tonic, the alt-rock band that hit it big with their debut record Lemon Parade, which featured the smash hits “Open Up Your Eyes” and “If You Could Only See.” A string of massively successful albums followed, including the Grammy-nominated Head on Straight and 2010’s self-titled release. “This record was interesting because I didn’t start out with a template,” says Hart. “My first solo record, I think I wanted to emulate [the Peter Gabriel classic] So, with this one, I wanted a songwriter record, not a Tonic record, but I was having a hard time getting started. I think the people I worked with ended up helping me find my way.”

ROBBY HECHT A proper artist struggles to influence life’s signal to noise ratio. Under the right kind of concentration, the static grows quiet. The extraneous and the superficial are pared away. And precious human qualities are held still, carefully turned over and inspected for illuminating details. In Robby Hecht’s case, this effort emerges as music that invites and even induces the listener to a similar place of serenity, clarity and patience. Across his four indie releases, Robby has distinguished himself as the second coming of James Taylor, a gentler Damien Jurado. But, whatever the comparison, it’s hard to miss that his songwriting is distinct and individual. He doesn’t shy from the obvious rhyme, but manages it with a delicate audacity, placing it only where it best serves the story or the mood. And, there’s something about the way he unfurls a line that feels less like trying to work something out and more like just calling it what it is. Robby has won many prestigious national performing songwriter awards including the Kerrville New Folk, Telluride Troubadour and the Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriting Competitions.

JOJO HERMANN (WIDESPREAD PANIC)John “JoJo” Hermann started playing keys with Widespread Panic in 1992. Throughout his career he has brought his New Orleans piano boogie woogie style into his songwriting. JoJo is looking forward to taking these songs on the road and into the studio with his new project JoJo’s Slim Wednesday. Hear all these songs live at the 30A Songwriters Festival.

Between 1995 and 2002, Herndon charted 17 singles, including his three No.1s and numerous top 10 hits, such as “I Want My Goodbye Back,” “Loved Too Much,” “A Man Holding On,” and “Hands of a Working Man.” He topped the charts in 1996 with the single “Living in a Moment” and again in 1998 with “It Must Be Love.” Now Herndon has released his latest and most ambitious album to date, House On Fire, distributed by Sony/RED. THE HONEY DEWDROPSLaura Wortman and Kagey Parrish share more than most couples. As the Honey Dewdrops, they share stages from venues to festivals across North America, stretches of rolling, infinite roadway, and a lot of songs. They share one mic and a hunger to pay attention to what endures. This hunger to explore and document is evident in their 2012 release Silver Lining, a Top Ten record on national Folk and Americana stations. With tight harmonies and a musical ensemble that includes clawhammer banjo, mandolin and guitars, the effect is to leave listeners with only what matters: the heart of the song and clarity over ornamentation. “Long may The Honey Dewdrops continue to make music this timeless.” - MAVERICK MAGAZINE

JACK INGRAMThroughout a recording career that has spanned more than 20 years, Jack Ingram has maintained a reputation for uncompromising songs and energetic performances that has earned him prominent stature in a prestigious tradition of iconoclastic singer-songwriters. After a seven year hiatus, his eighth studio album Midnight Motel, was released in August 2016 (Rounder Records). It is his most authentic, touching work to date and reflects the self-assuredness Ingram has gained over the course of a celebrated career. Ingram began writing songs and playing gigs while studying psychology at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. Over the years his music gained recognition and he became a regular on both the Country and Americana charts. In 2006, the title track off of Ingram’s album Wherever You Are, earned him his first Number One single and its follow-up “Love You” earned him another Top 20 hit. His next studio effort, 2007’s This Is It, hit the Top Five on the U.S. country charts and led to him being named Best New Male Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music in 2008. Big Dreams & High Hopes followed a year later, spawning five charting singles, including “Barefoot and Crazy” and “That’s A Man.”

He started out playing drums at a young age, and when he was 13 his dad bought him his first guitar. Johnston always played in various bands, and as he became more influenced by rock bands such as Nirvana, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Tom Petty, Johnston began to explore the craft of writing songs. Jaren celebrated his first number one with “You Gonna Fly,” recorded by Keith Urban, and has had other cuts with Urban including the #1 single “Raise ‘Em Up.” His list of hit singles include: Jake Owen’s “Beachin’,” “Days of Gold” and “American Country Love Song;” Billy Currington’s “Don’t It;” Tim McGraw’s “Meanwhile Back At Mama’s” and “Southern Girl;” Frankie Ballard’s “Sunshine & Whiskey” and “It All Started With A Beer;” and Drake White’s “Livin The Dream.” Jaren Johnston is always working hard to build his career. PETER KARPSinger-songwriter, slide guitarist and pianist Peter Karp has carved out his own unique niche. At once funny, poignant, irreverent, romantic and always true to life, Karp’s compositions reflect his own intriguing backstory. Raised both in the swamps of New Jersey and rural trailer parks of Southern Alabama, Karp masterfully crafts music fueled with a Yankee-Rebel juxtaposition with plenty of humor and candor. Karp first attracted national attention and critical acclaim through his collaboration with guitarist Mick Taylor of the Rolling Stones who recorded and toured with Karp on his first label release, The Turning Point. Blind Pig Records put out Shadows and Cracks in 2005. In 2008 Karp formed The Karp Foley Band with Canadian blues guitarist Sue Foley. As the principal songwriter of the group, Karp made 2 very successful albums for Blind Pig, He Said She Said and Beyond The Crossroads. Early in 2016 Karp released The Arson’s Match an album of a live show featuring his band with Mick Taylor in NYC. That CD is part of a charity project that he started for Ovarian Cancer Research, and has already received award nominations and positive reviews from around the world.

STEPHEN KELLOGGOver the last decade, Massachusetts native musician, Stephen Kellogg, has performed more than 1500 concerts, raised thousands for causes close to his heart, been named Armed Forces Entertainer of the Year and released 8 albums which have led to hundreds of thousands of tickets and album sales. When it comes to performing, CBS Radio has called Stephen, “the best live act you’ve never seen.” Another writer at No Depression magazine gives him the oddly flattering title of “the best songwriter you’re not listening to.” Interestingly though while Kellogg may not be a household name to everyone, he has persisted in building a substantial career, which has landed him on stage with some of the biggest touring acts in the country (Train, Sugarland, OAR, to name a few), in the billboard charts, and with his songs as the backdrop of numerous films and TV shows (One Tree Hill, Men of a Certain Age, Mercy). His Americana-tinged, sometimes folk, often rock, occasionally pop stylings can make Kellogg hard to define, but to his core, this musician and father of four brings heart and an incredible energy to everything he does.

JOSH KERRJosh Kerr is a Nashville-based hit songwriter/producer and guitar player. He grew up in Buffalo, New York and moved to Tennessee in 2011 where he signed with Black River Publishing in 2012. JENNIFER KNAPPJennifer Knapp’s beautifully intimate new album Set Me Free puts her uncommon honesty front and center, solidifying her return to a music career set on her own terms. Set Me Free, out now on Righteous Babe Records, is Knapp’s second mainstream folk rock release after she left her Grammy-nominated Contemporary Christian Music career behind, returning seven years later with the refreshingly straightforward Letting Go in 2010. While her transition away from Christian music and public coming out as a lesbian have made her a lightning rod for controversy, Set Me Free is an album full not of anger but of love, with intimate arrangements providing the backdrop for stories of romance, friendship, and faith. Coinciding with the release of her candid memoir Facing the Music: My Story on Howard Books/Simon and Schuster, this refreshing new album once again demonstrates Jennifer’s uncompromising willingness to be open in the spotlight. The combined album and book releases have created an expanded platform for Jennifer. In 2015, she toured nationally in support of Set Me Free; presented a musical TEDx talk on LGBT issues of faith at University of Nevada; performed at GLAAD’s Concert for Love and Acceptance with Ty Herndon and Meghan McCain; and wrote about the Supreme Court’s ruling on marriage equality for The Huffington Post.

KYLE LAMONICAKyle LaMonica is an acoustic rock singer songwriter who grew up just west of the beaches of south Walton in Niceville, FL. Since 2002 while majoring in music at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Kyle has been performing as a solo musician throughout the region and especially the local area around Destin, FL. Kyle’s music has a feel similar to popular rock bands such as Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Guster and David Gray. Kyle has released two albums (Matter of Time - 2003 and Egoliath - 2005) as a member of Free Monica, a band that he co-founded in 2003 with his friend and fellow musician, Ben Friedman. Free Monica continues to perform locally in the Destin and Santa Rosa Beach area each year. Kyle was nominated in 2011 and 2012 for the 30A Hotspot Awards Hottest Local Musicians/Bands category. TREA LANDONHailing from small town Claxton, Ga, Trea Landon developed a love for country music at a young age, because of his grandfather. It was also he that taught Landon his first chords on the guitar. After years of playing in a band and touring the southeast, Landon decided to move to Nashville. Within a month of living there, he landed his first publishing deal with Hit-Singer-Songwriter, Dallas Davidson’s, “Play It Again Publishing.” He has written with several hit songwriters, as well as national artists. He has also created quite the resume of touring with national acts. Landon is a small town Georgia boy. When he isn’t in the studio writing songs or touring, he’s in the woods hunting or on the lake fishing.

NIKKI LANENikki Lane’s stunning third album Highway Queen, out February 17th, 2017, sees the young Nashville singer emerge as one of country and rock’s most gifted songwriters. Co-produced by Lane and fellow singer-songwriter, Jonathan Tyler, this emotional tour-de-force blends potent lyrics, unbridled blues guitars and vintage Sixties country-pop swagger. In 2014, Lane’s second album All or Nothin’ (New West) solidified her sandpaper voice beneath a ten-gallon hat as the new sound and look of outlaw country music. Produced by Dan Auerbach, the record’s bluesy Western guitars paired with Lane’s Dusty Springfield-esque voice earned glowing reviews from NPR, the Guardian and Rolling Stone. Growing up, Lane used to watch her father pave asphalt during blistering South Carolina summers. She’d sit on the roller next to a guy named Rooster and divvy out Hardee’s lunch orders for the workers. “That’s the southern work ethic, she says. “We didn’t have a lot of money, but I was privileged with the knowledge of how to work hard, how to learn and to succeed when things aren’t set up for me.” Highway Queen is poised to be Lane’s mainstream breakthrough. “This was the first time in my career where I decided how things were going to go; I was willing to take the heat,” she says. On the record cover, Lane looks out on wide, unowned Texan plains, leaning on the fearsome horns of a massive steer. Wearing a vintage Victorian dress, the stark photo invokes a time before highways existed. The symbolism isn’t lost on Lane. Highway Queen is a pioneering moment for her as an artist.

AMY LAVEREWhile Amy LaVere’s voice may have the high, breathy tone of a young girl, she brings to her music the emotional peaks and valleys of a grown woman who has certainly seen her share of the world, and the myriad ways those adventures have informed her work. Her debut, This World Is Not My Home, was released on Archer Records in 2006 and followed quickly by Anchors & Anvils, produced by legendary Memphis musician and producer/engineer Jim Dickinson. In 2009 as Amy dealt with Dickinson’s death and the end of a long-term relationship, she wrote the songs that would become Stranger Me (2011, Archer Records), which earned high praise from Paste Magazine, Spin and more. Her most recent releases – 2014’s Runaway’s Diary and 2015’s collaboration with husband and noted Austin guitarist Will Sexton Hallelujah I’m A Dreamer – have met with critical acclaim, even as Amy grows as an actress (Walk the Line, Black Snake Moan, Woman’s Picture) and continues to work with John Paul Keith in classic country outfit Motel Mirrors.

JOE LEATHERSA native of Memphis, Joe’s “Memphis Thang” influences are diverse and that diversity is evident in his songwriting. Having been awarded numerous BMI and ASCAP awards, some of Joe’s hits include, “Tough” by Craig Morgan, “Where I’m From” by Jason Michael Carroll, Tim McGraw’s “Still” and Steve Holy’s “Love Don’t Run.” Joe also landed the title cut to the Kenny Chesney Platinum release “Hemingway’s Whiskey,” and Clay Walker’s “Jesse James.” The critically acclaimed “Nashville Without You” is on Tim McGraw’s Two Lanes of Freedom album and Thompson Square released “I Can’t Outrun You.” Among the artists who have recorded Joe’s songs include Trace Adkins, Clay Walker, Lee Brice, Guy Clark, Kris Kristofferson, Trailer Choir, Halfway To Hazard, Rio Grande, Lisa Brokop, Brian Davis, Thompson Square, Kellie Pickler, Jerrod Niemann, Randy Houser, Gary Allan and others. Joe’s approach to life and the craft of songwriting can be summed up by his own words, “swing hard, you might hit it.”

SAM LEWISSam Lewis plays soul music. While it bears the sonic landmarks of roots music’s most fertile ground, the songwriting of Sam Lewis is born of a landscape that can only be felt, not seen. His music is native to the infinite expanse that is exposed when human attention is full, and focused inward - harvested solely by the nuanced rhythm of love. Sam’s songs are rooted in the energy that defines this harmonious frontier, the space that unifies the human experience in each of us. It’s the anchored spirit in this incubated territory of soul for which Sam Lewis works to celebrate and elevate with the tones of rock & roll, rhythm & blues and a country-folk muse. While continuing to connect dots from his experiences to the perceptions of those around him with lyrical acuity, the songs of Sam Lewis remain a perpetual trip. An expedition in the sound of the mind, the sound of heart and the sound nature in which they exist. Sounds that may not have a name, but when it’s all said and done - are one in the same.

PHIL MADEIRAProducer, composer, musician, singer Phil Madeira has made a life for himself in the arts. Whether writing songs for artists like Alison Krauss and Garth Brooks, touring with Emmylou Harris, or playing any number of instruments on hundreds of records, Phil is no stranger to creativity. Madeira’s associations are varied and deep. He is a member of Emmylou Harris’ band The Red Dirt Boys, putting him an elite group of amazing bands that the legendary Ms Harris is known for assembling. He has recorded and performed with hundreds of artists including The iconic Civil Wars, Buddy Miller, jazz legend John Scofield, Amy Grant, Keb’ Mo’, Mavis Staples, Mumford and Sons, and young heart throbs The Band Perry. Phil has written and produced 2 volumes of Mercyland: Hymns For The Rest Of Us, featuring singers Emmylou Harris, Buddy Miller, The Carolina Chocolate Drops, The Civil Wars, John Scofield, Shawn Mullins, The Lone Bellow, The McCrary Sisters, Buddy Miller and other high profile artists. The project of new spirituals was created to offset what Madeira and his collaborators believed to be a toxic gospel, touted by warmongers and hate wagers.

So far, over her 20+ career she has released 13 albums to date, and is currently on tour in support of her new album, Stronger Than You Think, a collection of empowering folk rock made to “fortify and inspire everyone who needs an extra boost of joy!” Malone’s performances are are “raucous and jubilant” (Rolling Stone) and can make the biggest venue feel cozy as a campfire and an intimate venue feel like the center of the universe. Her new album is now available on iTunes and michellemalone.com

HEATHER MALONEYHeather Maloney is a Massachusetts based singer-songwriter and writer-songsinger. Her latest record Making Me Break (Signature Sounds, 2015) was produced by Bill Reynolds (Band of Horses, Avett Brothers, Lissie) and features an all-star backing band including members of Band of Horses (Bill Reynolds, Tyler Ramsey), The Wallflowers, My Morning Jacket, and Darlingside. Upon the release of Making Me Break, Maloney landed on SPIN Magazine’s Artist to Watch, with enthusiastic reviews from The Huffington Post, Consequence of Sound, and No Depression. The last song on the record, “Nightstand Drawer,” became Maloney’s first major television song placement on the CBS series “Elementary.” As a Signature Sounds artist, Maloney has toured nationally as a headliner as well as in support of acts like Lake Street Dive, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Gary Clark Jr., Colin Hay, Mary Chapin Carpenter, and many more. In 2014 she collaborated with the rising Boston quartet Darlingside on the Woodstock EP, a tribute to the Joni Mitchell-written / Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young-covered 60’s anthem. The cover was featured on the New York Times and garnered attention from Graham Nash himself, who called the performance, “Delicious, really excellent.”

CHARLIE MARSAmerican Songwriter observed, “like the late Jesse Winchester, Mars is a master of subtlety and a songwriter of relaxed, easy elegance that he takes to the bank with wit and charm on The Money” while The Aquarian Weekly noted, “Reeking of wisdom, humor and chops, The Money... should appeal to hipsters and cowgirls alike.” “The Mississippi-based troubadour builds upon the distinctive musical approach he’s known for, employing supple grooves and ambient Daniel Lanois-inspired production to enhance the elemental force of his classic songwriting,” said The Tennessean. Mars has been in Nashville recently, writing songs for his upcoming country/Americana album with such artists as Americana Music Honors & Awards winner Hayes Carll and Union Station’s Dan Tyminski. Charlie has been operating outside the confines of the major label world ever since self-releasing his breakthrough album, Like a Bird, Like a Plane, in 2009. Since then, he has had two Top 30 singles at AAA radio (“Listen To The Darkside” and “How I Roll”), sold 32,000 records independently, played more than 500 dates and licensed songs to shows like Parenthood, Bones, How I Met Your Mother, Weeds and United States of Tara. In addition to his outings with the Dixie Chicks, he has also toured with artists like Steve Earle, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Citizen Cope and his solo shows are often sell-outs.

MAX MCCANNMusic has taken Max on a three decade journey of highs and lows breaks and breakdowns, stinky vans and four star hotel rooms. It is all evident as he creates a soulful, tooth grinding display of original heartfelt bluesy vocals and guitar playing. McCann is a veteran of the road that’s taking him across the country numerous times and throughout Europe. The parameters of his credentials varies in great range from; holding the performance record at the famous Green Parrot Bar in Key West to playing at the Infamous, Museumuferfest in Frankfurt Germany for eight thousand people ten days straight . Big or small and regardless of venue, “My man comes to play”- Jimmy Johnson (blues legend), and that’s what McCann delivers consistently. Recent highlights include; BMA nominations “Musician of the Year and “Best Blues Artist “, and a new Album entitled “30A AMIGOS”, recorded with the finest musicians and inspired by life on this county road based on friendship and musical comradery written in a style described as; “Beach Mountain Blues”. McCann has performed with some of the best in the business and continues to tour promoting the art of original music. Catch Max and the Album 30A AMIGOS!

SEAN MCCONNELLFor one so relatively young, Sean McConnell has an impressive musical resume, from coffeehouses in Harvard Square to Texas roadhouses to major songwriting credits in Nashville. Additionally, he’s built a devoted fan base through tireless touring and old-fashioned hard work. This self-titled album coming out through Rounder Records marks a personal and professional breakthrough, a career-defining record, with Sean McConnell’s ready for prime time, yet still blessed with all the soulfulness and reflective storytelling for which he is already respected and admired.

DAVIN MCCOYPain, suffering, and loss... three elements baked deeply into the fabric of love, or rather, a true love lost. These are the things of which the greatest artists of all time have feasted, in through their uniquely experienced and engineered pores, and out to the world après time served within the walls of the artists’ hearts and minds. Such are the autobiographical, painstaking roads traveled by Davin McCoy’s eloquently crafted, individually wrapped soulful pieces of art, his songs, tied together, so ever tightly, by a grief stricken fueled common thread, by cigarette stained fingers avec a not yet finished quarter left high ball. A personal compilation of emotions wrapped with and by a heart-wrenching bow known as McCoy’s sophomore effort Whiskey Sexy.

MICHAEL MCDERMOTTMichael McDermott’s brand of rock n’ roll brims with the kind of well-honed style and wisdom that can only come from a career on the road and a pedigree in the studio. Effortlessly blending natural folk sensibility, pop hooks, and honest rock, McDermott’s music is as much for the outcast as the congregation. It’s an exploration of the dark corners of life’s journey and it resonates middle class truths through the passionate filter of a kid that grew up on Chicago’s Irish South Side.If you are a fan of Springsteen, Van Morrison, John Steinbeck, Patti Smith … McDermott’s inspirational rock is in your wheelhouse, waiting late night with a guitar, spare smokes and stories of the American heart. “McDermott’s music helped me to find a part of myself that wasn’t lost, as I had feared, but only misplaced. That’s why we love the ones who are really good at it, I think: because they give us back ourselves, all dusted and shined up, and they do it with a smile…Michael McDermott is one of the best songwriters in the world and possibly the greatest undiscovered rock & roll talent of the last 20 years” - Stephen King

CHUCK MCDOWELLLouisiana-born, Georgia-raised Chuck McDowell is an award-winning songwriter and entertainer with a reputation as a remarkably prolific songwriter in songwriting circles around the country. Clever and driven in his pursuit to write better songs, his focus and energy has gained attention from, and garnered co-writes with, some of most lauded songwriters & lyricists of our day. A romantic, an innovator and a wildly creative personality, Chuck put together the eclectic ESOEBO, a guitar/cello duo with Gail Burnett. Gwinnett Magazine named ESOEBO Best Entertainer of the Year. Chuck is the 2016 winner of the prestigious Eddie Owen Presents Annual Songwriter Shootout. He has garnered attention for festival appearances including 30A Songwriter Festival and International Folk Alliance. You’ll probably pick up his influences, though they are filtered through his unique and playful instincts and southern upbringing. No Depression recently wrote “McDowell is a deft and crafty songwriter with an innate ability to write serious, emotionally deep-sounding songs born of rather innocuous incidents.” Humor and depth often intertwine letting the listener filter which they receive. His live performances are known for making people smile, laugh, cry, clap, sing, shout, and stomp.

MICHIGAN RATTLERSMichigan Rattlers recount human stories through a soundtrack of Americana punctuated by countrified rock ‘n’ roll and folk. Their unparalleled knack for storytelling is accented by Graham Young’s rustling guitar and Adam Reed’s percussive upright bass in their 2016 self-titled debut EP. Born in Petoskey, MI and based in LA, the duo’s music plays out like a film. Lifelong friends Graham and Adam began performing together in their Northern Michigan high school, and they’ve been writing and recording music ever since. One of their demos found its way into the hands of producer Johnny K (Plain White T’s, 3 Doors Down), and the rest is history. The rising Americana duo was recently named one of Rolling Stone’s 10 New Country Artists You Need To Know, with the esteemed publication likening their music to “Whiskeytown-era Ryan Adams, early Wilco, the acoustic side of Rhett Miller and the Old 97’s.” Additionally, the guys have been tapped to open for the legendary Gregg Allman this summer. They released their aforementioned debut EP to critical acclaim this past fall, and are scheduled to put out a full length album in late 2017. Check out standout tracks from the EP: Sweet Diane and Last Week.

PARKER MILLSAPParker Millsap didn’t know not to sing like this. Listening to old albums as a kid alone in his room, he didn’t realize howling like a Delta blues ghost readying the world for rock-and-roll isn’t how a skinny white boy from Purcell, Oklahoma usually sounds. In the midst of a world so fond of condemnation as entertainment, Millsap’s rootsy rock-and-roll poetry offers open-armed love of people and their stories. New album The Very Last Day is the anticipated follow-up to his eponymous 2014 release, which netted him high-profile praise from NPR, the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and others, as well as a nomination for Americana Emerging Artist of the Year. Whether the 23-year-old is singing from the perspective of a convenience store robber haunted by his past, or as the King of the Underworld wild with passion, his character-driven songs mine deep wells of joy and despair to create gut-punching narratives that are sometimes hellish, sometimes heavenly, and always human.

JONATHAN MITCHELLJonathan Mitchell’s love for music started at a young age. His family speaks of him singing harmonies at the age of 5, far before he knew the meaning of it. Raised the son of a preacher, music was a monumental part of his life, first beginning with an affinity for old hymns and later finding influence in the music of Tom Petty, The Band, Hall and Oates, and his sister, Aslyn, also a recording artist. Jonathan began writing and touring in college with several bands, his travels expanding the US into Europe. After graduation, he moved to Atlanta to further pursue songwriting and within a year, joined forces with his brothers to form a band called Geor-gia. The band landed a record deal with Atlantic Records and began recording their debut album, Slow Down Easy with Mike Daly (Whiskeytown) and Joe Chiccarelli (Brandi Carlile, My Morning Jacket, The White Stripes). Jonathan has toured and shared the stage with Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Need To Breathe, Zac Brown Band, Ryan Bingham, Better Than Ezra, Ed Roland, Cold War Kids, to name a few. In 2011, Jonathan moved to 30A to create Ohana Records, a modern music program for the students at Ohana Institute in Rosemary Beach, FL.

BILLY MONTANABilly Montana has achieved four #1 country records - Lee Brice’s “Hard To Love”(2012), Garth Brooks’ “More Than A Memory”(2007), Sara Evans’ “Suds In The Bucket” (2004) and Jo Dee Messina’s “Bring On The Rain” (2002). “Bring On The Rain” was nominated for awards by both the Recording Academy (Grammy) and the Country Music Association and reached Number 6 on the Adult Contemporary chart. It appeared on the Country and A/C Charts for a combined total of 66 weeks! “Suds In The Bucket” was the most played country song by a female artist of 2004 and “More Than A Memory” is the fastest rising single in the history of country music, debuting at #1 on both the Billboard and R & R charts. Recently, Montana’s song “What If I Was Willing” has been featured on several of the 2013-14 episodes of the popular ABC television series Nashville. Many prominent artists have recorded Montana’s songs including Kenny Chesney, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean, Garth Brooks, Lee Brice, David Nail, Pat Green, Jo Dee Messina, Sara Evans, Blake Shelton, Trace Adkins, Eli Young Band, Kellie Pickler, Emmylou Harris, Vince Gill, Sister Hazel, Steve Holy, Kenny Rogers and Lee Ann Womack.

THE MOSLEYSMarried songwriting duo Rachel and Stephen Mosley stumbled onto the scene after winning an open mic competition. What started off as a clever way to get out of the house quickly evolved into something more, and they recorded their first EP at Zac Brown’s Crow’s Nest Studio in Atlanta. Since the release of Beneath the Trees and Stars in 2014, they have been busy playing festivals and stages, from the 30A Songwriter Festival to the Wire and Wood Songwriter Festival to the Chastain Amphitheater. Drawing inspiration from over fifteen years of marriage, a deep spirituality, and the struggles of raising five children, The Mosleys blend their acoustic, country, and folk influences to produce deep, organic songs that resonate with the common thread in us all. They have quickly earned opportunities to share the stage with such talent as Liz Longley, Harpeth Rising, and Air Supply, as well as many others. The Mosleys were recently featured artists on NPR’s Folk Alley and finalists at Eddie’s Attic Open Mic competition. They continue to refine their style as they prepare to get back in the studio to record a full album in early 2017.

THE MULLIGAN BROTHERSThe Mulligan Brothers is an Americana Folk-Rock band from Mobile, Alabama. The songwriting and warm, honest, straight-to-the heart voice of lead singer Ross Newell draws listeners into the group’s signature sound, where the harmonies of Greg DeLuca, Ben Leininger and Melody Duncan make the songs soar or haunt from the shadows. DeLuca plays drums and Leininger is on the bass. Fiddler Melody Duncan recently joined the band, bringing a female voice and perspective. The Mulligan Brothers have released two albums, The Mulligan Brothers and Via Portland (recorded in Portland with Grammy-winning producer Steve Berlin) and will soon release a Live from The Netherlands album, recorded during the recent tour that included shows at the famed Paradiso in Amsterdam and a spot on The Ramblin’ Roots Festival in Utrecht. They currently have over two million plays on Spotify, including over 1 million of the song “Lay Here.” The band kicks of 2017 with a return to the prestigious 30A Songwriter Festival in Florida, an appearance on Music City Roots Nashville, and are excited to return to Ireland for January-February tour dates followed by a spot on Cayamo A journey Through Song, a 7 day Roots Music Cruise in the company of such artists as Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell and Steve Earle.

SHAWN MULLINSShawn Mullins has spent the last year on the road in support of his ninth studio album release My Stupid Heart. The theme of the album is best summed up, according to Mullins, by the title of the song “It All Comes Down to Love.” Mullins says, it’s not all that different from most of his discography — which includes 1998’s Soul’s Core, the album that shot him to fame on the strength of its Grammy-nominated No. 1 hit, “Lullaby,” and 2006’s 9th Ward Pickin’ Parlor, with AAA/Americana No. 1, “Beautiful Wreck.” (He also co-wrote the Zac Brown Band’s No. 1 country tune, “Toes.”) But in the years since his last release, 2010’s Light You Up, Mullins has experienced more ups and downs on his romantic roller-coaster. With a supple baritone that still allows him to channel Prince, as well as wail the blues and growl with grit — not to mention rock those talkin’ rhythms — Mullins has been engaging audiences since he won his first high-school talent contest with his own composition. “I’m in a new place in my life, a place of freedom, artistically — and a real grounded place of bein’ a dad,” he says. “I’m really excited about the possibilities.” Though he may be wearing a little more emotional armor this time, when he steps onstage each night, he sings with all the passion he’s got in his anything-but-stupid heart.

DAN NAVARRODan’s career began as a songwriter, most often with Eric Lowen, for artists as diverse as Pat Benatar (the Grammy-nominated “We Belong”), The Bangles, Jackson Browne, Dave Edmunds, The Temptations, and Dionne Warwick. In the 1990s, he recorded and toured with Lowen in the acclaimed acoustic duo Lowen & Navarro until Eric’s retirement in 2009. Dan has transitioned smoothly into a growing solo career, steadily in demand on the national concert circuit. He moonlights as a singer and voice actor in motion pictures like The Book Of Life (as the villain Chakal), The Lorax, Happy Feet (1 & 2), Rio (on the Oscar-nominated “Real In Rio”), Ice Age (2 & 3) ; TV series Turbo Fast, Prison Break, Family Guy and American Dad; records with Neil Young, Andrea Bocelli, Luis Miguel, Jose Feliciano, Janiva Magness, Susanna Hoffs and Jon Anderson of Yes; the hit videogames Fallout 4 and Uncharted 4, and hundreds of TV ads. In 2009, after 22 years and 12 albums with Lowen & Navarro, Dan released the spirited Live at McCabe’s, backed by his pals, Austin’s now-disbanded Stonehoney. He is currently finishing his next album, Shed My Skin — his first studio album of new material as a solo artist, slated for release early next year.

OVER THE RHINEWhen you listen to Over the Rhine, the supremely talented wife-husband duo of Karin Bergquist and Linford Detweiler, you quickly fall under the spell of Karin’s compelling voice, ethereal and earthy at once, and then you notice their subtle, satisfying arrangements, all the instruments so exquisitely balanced, and finally the lines of the songs start hitting you. Paste Magazine praises their “lovely, heartbreaking, and ultimately uplifting musical mosaic.” The Washington Post applauds their “understated, country-tinged charm.” The Wall Street Journal describes their album, Meet Me at the Edge of the World, as “subtle and elegant, with airy musical arrangements and breathtaking vocal harmonies that fit the title of the album.”

ELLIS PAULSome artists document their lives through their music. Others chronicle their times. It’s a rare artist who can do both, telling their own story through songs that also encapsulate the essence of people and places who have helped define their era overall. Woody Guthrie comes to mind, and so does Bob Dylan. Bruce Springsteen certainly as well. Yet few others, for whatever genius they may possess, can relate their own history to the history experienced by those who find that common bond, be it in a coming of age, living through the same realities or sharing similar experiences. Ellis Paul is one of those gifted singer/songwriters. Though some may refer to him as a folksinger, he is more, for lack of a better word, a singular storyteller, a musician whose words reach out from inside and yet also express the feelings, thoughts and sensibilities that most people can relate to in one way or another, regardless of age or upbringing. The exhilaration of the open road. A celebration of heroes. The hope for redemption. Descriptions of those things that are both near and dear. The sharing of love… intimate, passionate and enduring.

GRANT PEEPLESA self-described “vegetarian that watches NASCAR, and tree-hugger with a gun below the seat,” Grant Peeples is known for his axe-sharp socio-political tunes, raucous humor and heart-gigging ballads. In 2014 he was the recipient of the Focus Foundation Award for Creative Excellence, which cited the “humor, compassion and wisdom of his songs,” as well as their “unflinching social insight and cultural acuity.” He was also a 2016 Finalist in the prestigious Kerrville Folk Festival’s New Folk Songwriters Showcase. Peeples has been called “a guitar slinging poet” (Music News Nashville) and his voice “laced with Waits, Cash, & Cohen.” (Folk & Acoustic Music Exchange) His music: “Beautiful songs, beautifully produced” (Texas Music Times), and from Nashville Songwriting Hall of Famer Bobby Braddock, “Like John Prine, but with a Southern bent.” He lived 11 years as an expatriate on a small island off the coast of Nicaragua. He arrived back home in 2006 to find his country very much changed. The songs he writes are largely a response to what he found on his return. He has recorded 7 studio albums, the latest being A Congress of Treasons, released in February 2016. His mother finds his songs… disturbing.

STEVE POLTZSteve Poltz is obsessed with the challenge of knowing and understanding the thoughts of each and every person in his audience. He is a lover of life; fascinated by all things large and small. As a road-tested troubadour armed with whimsy, curiosity and a healthy respect for the absurdities of existence, he is unafraid of saying yes, unafraid of letting his relentless, giddy energy fill a room and he is unafraid of letting his streams-of-consciousness take him where he needs to go. His songs are guileless snapshots filtered through the windshield of his brain. He opens his mouth and lets it fall out - a SONG - and it’s as shameless and intriguing and profound and wondrous as he is. A mix of high octane performance, singular wit and endlessly entertaining storytelling, Steve is legendary for his improvisational songwriting and timeless, original classics. Oh, and he’s a pretty good guitarist too.

SARAH POTENZAAfter years of touring with her band Sarah & The Tall Boys, Sarah Potenza was chosen over 50,000 candidates to appear on The Voice. Judge Pharrell Williams’ reaction to Potenza’s on-air audition gives you a pretty good idea of the level of talent of this incredible singer. Williams’ immediately exclaimed, “You’re giving this generation something they’ve never seen before.” Potenza left the show as a top 20 finalist then headed to Nashville, where she quickly integrated into the local music scene, becoming a staple at the world renowned Bluebird Café and the globally broadcast Music City Roots program. She continues to earn raves for her big voice, which seamlessly blends roots, rock and soul. “Potenza is to the blues what Adele is to pop” - Rolling Stone

JACOB POWELLNo parent ever wants to get the call that their son is giving up medical school to pursue a music career, but these days, Jacob Powell’s parents are seeing it as a wise decision. The young Tennessean’s high-octane concerts are rapidly earning him a reputation as one of Nashville’s most talented artist and writers. Possessing a distinctive voice, teeming with both a sense of playful mischief and serious intent, Powell is at the forefront of a new breed of country artists shaping today’s musical landscape. There’s an edgy energy in his songs that makes them leap from the speakers and command attention. Powell’s musical journey began in Lawrenceburg, TN, a small town south of Nashville, where he grew up listening to the Allman Brothers, George Jones, and George Strait. Jacob Powell sings country music with an authority and authenticity that comes from both God-given talent and hard-earned experience. In 2015, he played over 100 dates and is well on his way to do the same in 2016 – playing with Florida-Georgia Line, Dustin Lynch, The Cadillac Three, David Nail and many more. As a songwriter, Powell has earned the respect of hit writers, such as, Casey Beathard, Michael Heeney, Jaren Johnston, and Jeremy Stover, which has helped him secure cuts from artist like Chase Rice, Jordan Rager, Jon Wolfe, as well as cuts he co-wrote for his own record.

JOHN PRINETwo time Grammy-award winner John Prine is a singer songwriter who, from his eponymously titled first LP release in 1971, has continued to write and perform songs that have become central to our American musical heritage. Classics like, “Angel from Montgomery,” “Sam Stone,” “Paradise,” and “Hello in There” speak to the everyday experience of ordinary people with a simple honesty, and an extraordinary ability to get right through to the heart of the listener. Long considered a “songwriter’s songwriter,” John Prine is a rare talent whose writing is greatly admired by his peers. Performers who have recorded from his extensive catalog, include Johnny Cash, Bonnie Raitt, the Everly Brothers, John Denver, Kris Kristofferson, Carly Simon, Ben Harper, Joan Baez, George Strait, Old Crow Medicine Show, Norah Jones, Bette Midler, Miranda Lambert and many others. With his career spanning more than 40 years Prine continues to perform at sold out shows all over the US, Canada, and Europe. Among the many awards and accolades John has received in recent times include is his 2003 induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, an Americana Lifetime Achievement Award for songwriting and was honored at the Library of Congress by US Poet Laureate Ted Kooser. Prine has become for many, not just a well loved and appreciated songwriter, but a bonafide American treasure. His most recent album, For Better, or Worse was released on Sept. 30, 2016 and is his highest charting Billboard album to date.

JOE PURDYFrom his home state of Arkansas to his home in Los Angeles, Joe Purdy has recorded a baker’s dozen worth of albums. His songs have turned up on numerous TV shows and film soundtracks. Most notably, however, in recent years the singer, songwriter and self-described hillbilly has come to see the world and his role in it somewhat differently, charting this direction on his latest album, Who Will Be Next? Here he firmly plants his feet deep in the tradition of folk artists such as Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and Phil Ochs, applying his unique skills as writer and vocalist as a passionate observer and participant of our times.

WILLIS ALAN RAMSEYOver 40 years after the release of his wildly influential self-titled album on Leon Russell’s seminal Shelter Records, Willis Alan Ramsey returns to touring in advance of his long-anticipated follow-up, Gentilly. Ramsey’s debut in 1972 earned scores of accolades from many artists who mined the album for their own recordings, from Jimmy Buffett’s “Ballad of Spider John,” America’s “Muskrat Love (Candlelight),” Shawn Colvin’s “Satin Sheets,” and many more. His new songs have also received critical acclaim, including Lyle Lovett’s “North Dakota” and Eric Clapton’s recent “Positively.” Ramsey’s infrequent personal appearances always garner excitement among some of the top critics in the country as well as from fellow artists…. “His cozy, orderly, tiny-detail songs express a willful turnabout from hippie chaos, a visceral reaction particular to the early 1970s,” wrote Ben Ratliff for The New York Times. “His songs are sweet, emotionally guarded and often musically complex, expertly using rhythmic displacement as the words and chords unspool…. Perfection is terrifying, and some of these songs felt spooky.”“I learned every song off his record. I went to see him every time he played, got tennis shoes like his. I wanted to be Willis Alan Ramsey.”- Lyle Lovett

KIM RICHEY Over the past two decades Kim has released six critically acclaimed albums, been listed in the ‘Top 10 Albums of 1999’ in Time Magazine for her album Glimmer, plus received 4-stars in Rolling Stone and named ‘Alt-Country Album Of The Year’ in People Magazine for her album Rise. She has written two #1 singles and had four others hit Top 10. Her songs have been recorded by Trisha Yearwood, Suzy Bogus, Jamie Lawson, Patty Loveless and Mary Chapin Carpenter among others. Kim’s songs have been featured in film and tv. Her most recent release, Thorn In My Heart, was listed by The Associated Press, No Depression and the Boston Globe as one of the best albums of 2013.

JIMMY ROBBINSJimmy Robbins is a Nashville based songwriter and producer who has had over 100 cuts in the past few years. FRANK ROGERSFrank Rogers takes pride in his reputation as a chameleon. As a producer, songwriter, publisher and independent label owner, the South Carolina native is one of Nashville’s most diverse executives. Co-founder of Sea Gayle Music with Brad Paisley and songwriter Chris DuBois, Rogers has co-written such hits as Paisley’s “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song),” Darius Rucker’s “Alright” and “This,” and Granger Smith’s “Backroad Song.” He has produced 39 #1 hits by the likes of Paisley, Rucker, Trace Adkins, Scotty McCreery and Josh Turner to name a few, and launched Sea Gayle Records with albums by Jerrod Niemann and Sheryl Crow. Sea Gayle Publishing has logged 40 #1 singles, including Luke Bryan’s “Drink A Beer,” Tim McGraw’s “Southern Girl” and Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett’s “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere.” In 2016, Frank founded Fluid Music Revolution in conjunction with Spirit Music Group.

ED ROLAND AND THE SWEET TEA PROJECTNamed after the drink that is a cultural trademark of the band’s home region, Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project began serendipitously when the veteran singer/songwriter, with time off from his Collective Soul activities, began reconnecting with the rich club and coffeehouse scene in Atlanta. On random nights, he would invite some of these popular local musicians to his house to jam on tunes he had written that reached outside the stylistic jurisdiction of Collective Soul, including “Going to Birmingham,” one of the highlights from their debut album Devils ‘n Darlins that Roland penned on the ukulele. Roland enjoyed the loose homespun atmosphere, especially the unexpected energy of co-writing new songs with some of these musician friends. Among the most frequent visitors as the casual Sweet Tea jams took shape were bassist Brian Bisky and Christopher Alan Yates (who also plays banjo and trumpet). The lineup of Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project also includes guitarist Jesse Tripplet and drummer Mike Rizzi. More than simply a magical, engaging one off project during a hiatus from Collective Soul, Ed Roland and the Sweet Tea Project are evolving into a powerhouse recording and touring unit. Fans can look forward to a second album, Alder Lane Farm, slated for release in 2017.

SAINTE JANESainte Jane is a new Americana duo composed of singer/ songwriter Lauren St. Jane and Jeremy Ezell (frontman of Atlanta band The Well Reds). Lauren St. Jane, an Americana artist, has performed with Alabama, Diamond Rio and Craig Morgan; Jeremy has performed with Andy Grammar, Daughtry, Hot Chelle Rae, Parachute, and more. Together they joined as a duo born out of the recording of Lauren’s 2015 release, Running Around, co-written with Angie Aparo and featuring Jeremy on Vocals. Together their new songs are hauntingly familiar, drawing inspiration from classic songwriters Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, and Townes Van Zandt, with all the attitude and swagger of more recent greats like Ryan Adams and Grace Potter. Heart-wrenching inspiration, prolific songwriting and a desperate dedication to the craft of Americana combine to ignite the fire behind their unforgettable live performance. In August of ’16 Sainte Jane made their debut overseas touring Scotland as a featured artist at the Fringe Festival and their new album is slated for a U.S release March 2017. In both song and sound, Sainte Jane is a collective drink that goes down smooth leaving a beckoning burn for more - a classic country shot with a modern Americana buzz.

BOB SCHNEIDERBob Schneider has reigned as a de facto king of the Austin music scene for a couple of decades now, and while no one stays on top forever, the man shows no signs of decay in quality or creativity. Schneider is the city’s genius chameleon, mixing pop, hip-hop, folk and biting humor with essential melodies and bloody brilliant lyrics. His joys and heartbreaks, laid bare in song, help us understand our own.

DARRELL SCOTTDarrell Scott is a Grammy-nominated performer and recording artist, a highly demanded multi-instrumentalist (he plays 13 instruments!), and an ASCAP songwriter of the year. Darrell delivers his soulful performances in solo, duo, trio, band, and string quintet configurations, all equally dynamic and powerful. Songwriting credits include the Dixie Chicks’ Grammy Award winning “Long Time Gone” and “Heartbreak Town.” Scott has written songs recorded by over 70 artists including Dixie Chicks, Keb Mo, Faith Hill, Guy Clark, Sam Bush, Maura O’Connell, Kathy Mattea, Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, Garth Brooks, Patty Loveless, Trace Adkins, and Tim McGraw and he has recorded with many renowned artists including Steve Earle, Kate Rusby, Joan Baez, Jim Lauderdale, Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Jon Pousette-Dart, Ginny Hawker, Malcolm Holcombe, John McCusker, Allison Moorer, Jessie Alexander, and Randy Travis. Darrell spent 2016 touring in support of his new CD Couchville Sessions.

WILL SEXTONWill Sexton, whose writing credits range from work with Waylon Jennings and Stephen Stills to Joe Ely and Bill Carter, is shaped by the unique diversity of the Austin music scene. Fate and his own sheer talent placed him on stage with local legends before he’d lived out his first decade. Will and his big brother, Charlie, started playing together at the Continental Club when Will was 9 and Charlie was 11. Many of the sounds of his childhood still resonate in his current work. Will received early success in Austin and was signed by MCA at age 16. He has survived in the tough Austin music scene by playing gigs with a variety of notable artists. It is never unusual to go out to catch a show featuring an Austin singer/songwriter and see Will onstage. Will’s credits as producer and songwriter range from collaborations with Waylon Jennings to psychedelic pioneer Roky Erikson to Steve Earle and punk legend Johnny Thunders. Will has written for MCA and Almo Irving and recorded for MCA, A&M, and Zoo Entertainment. Will was in the New Folk Underground with David Baerwald, which resulted in the co-produced (w/ David Kitay) Lost Highway release Here Comes the New Folk Underground.

SECRET SISTERSGrowing up surrounded by the sounds of the South and the powerful timeless music emanating from Muscle Shoals, Laura and Lydia Rogers AKA The Secret Sisters were heavily influenced by a range of uniquely American musical styles, including country, bluegrass and gospel, as well as classic rock and pop. They were raised listening to everything from George Jones and Loretta Lynn, to the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, the Ramones, Fiona Apple and Rufus Wainwright. Their debut album was soon lauded by critics and adored by their rapidly growing legion of fans. The stage was set for the sisters to advance as artists and further establish themselves as songwriters, which they proved to do on their sophomore album, Put Your Needle Down, an eclectic mix of musical styles and sounds rooted in storytelling. Luckily the duo had a powerhouse producer, T Bone Burnett, to help them on their first two albums. “We became friends with T Bone early on in our career and he was a wonderful guide,” said Lydia. The Secret Sisters are always careful about how they want their music to sound. “I think that recording live is the best way that you can record an album because it really captures a band’s ability to glue themselves to one another and create something beautiful.” She adds, “There is something beautiful and honest about not being perfect.”

JENNIFER SIMPSONJennifer Lynn Simpson is a Los Angeles and Atlanta based singer/songwriter. Born and raised in Southern California, but with a lifetime love of country music and the songwriters of the 70’s, Jennifer’s music combines the simple, honest truth of country with the magic and warmth of folk and Americana. In her first year playing professionally, she won the 30A Songwriter Festival Song Competition with a song she co-wrote with Miles Zuniga of Fastball. The two recorded the song, South Walton Paradise, for the 30A album. Jennifer has worked and written with many amazing artists, and is currently opening for Rick Springfield on his ‘Stripped Down Tour’. Jennifer just completed her debut album, which was produced and engineered by Grammy-winner Matty Spindel, and features some of the best musicians in the world, including Billy Sheehan, Doug Pettibone, Matt Laug and Jim Cox. The 30A Songwriters Festival holds a special place in her heart and she is so excited to be back. Her debut EP LOVE’S NOT GOIN DOWN was released December 8th of this year along with her debut music video On The Road directed by Emmy-award winning director, Nik Kleverov.

SMOKIN’ NOVASSmokin’ Novas’ debut album masterfully fuses together the world of Americana, Folk and classic southern rock n’ roll, a unique and engaging hybrid of styles that sounds nostalgic and new all at once. “The entire album is rich, full and lush. One that fully activates the senses…” Target Audience Magazine. The band consists of Andrew Hyra and Brian Bristow, veterans of the Atlanta music scene. Prior to forming Smokin’ Novas, Hyra, with Kristian Bush of Sugarland, comprised Atlantic Records recording artist Billy Pilgrim. The duo enjoyed both national and international acclaim and received a four star review in Rolling Stone for their debut album. Bristow was a founding member of regional favorites The Tastemakers and most recently Athens, GA based The Highlanders, which released an all-star laden album in 2010. Veterans of the stage, their incendiary live performances showcase their unique chemistry and are not to be missed. The Novas are frequently joined on stage by Athens legend and multi-instrumentalist John Keane (REM, Indigo Girls, Widespread Panic) and drummer Kevin Leahy (Shawn Mullins, the BoDeans, Billy Pilgrim). The band is currently recording their follow up to Smokin’ Novas which is due out in 2017.

TODD SNIDERNashville gonzo outlaw Todd Snider returns with ‘Eastside Bulldog,’ his first solo album since 2012’s lauded ‘Agnostic Hymns and Stoner Fables.’ The new album brings life to Snider’s Elmo Buzz pseudonym, a name he has used to play in Nashville while dodging radius clauses. Described as “one of the sharpest, funniest storytellers in rock” by Rolling Stone and “an exceptional songwriter” by NPR’s Fresh Air, Snider uses his narrative chops to keep the world of ‘Eastside Bulldog’ poignant, acerbic and hilarious. The album finds Snider exploring new sonic territory, too: proto-rock and roll, taking as many cues from Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis as Guy Clark and Billy Joe Shaver.

CAROLINE SPENCEThe release of Caroline Spence’s debut album, the magical and meditative Somehow, follows a string of successes, including being crowned the 2013 Rocky Mountain Folk Festival Songwriter Showcase winner, earning Best Overall Song in the American Songwriter Magazine Lyric Contest, and taking home the title at the 2014 Kerrville New Folk Festival. The 26-year-old Virginia native has had her songs recorded by up-and-coming singer-songwriters Andrew Combs (“Heavy”) and Annalise Emerick (“A Good One” and “Somewhere In Between”). Caroline has opened for beloved troubadors like Jim Lauderdale and John Moreland and even Miranda Lambert posted on her social media pages about Caroline’s song “Last Call.” Since its release, Somehow has been featured by press outlets such as Rolling Stone Country, American Songwriter Magazine, CMT Edge, The Bluegrass Situation, Elmore Magazine, and Folk Alley. Melinda Neumann of Rolling Stone wrote, “the stripped-down, beautiful Somehow, delivered in her haunting, gossamer-winged voice, capture life’s fragility, while celebrating our humanity.” CMT Edge declared Caroline’s sweet voice and disarming honesty” made her “a bright spot on Nashville’s local music scene.” Caroline will be releasing a new record Spades & Roses on March 3rd, 2017.

JEFFREY STEELEBMI has recognized Jeffrey for over 63 million airplays for hits he penned for a multitude of artists including Keith Urban, Montgomery Gentry, Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins, Steve Holy, Phil Vassar, LeAnn Rimes, Rascal Flatts and Van Zant. CMA has twice awarded him the coveted “Triple Play Award” for three No. 1 songs in a year (2010 & 2007). His country and A/C mega-hits include a string of chart toppers including: “Raise ‘Em Up”, “Knee Deep”, “Here,” “My Wish,” “The Cowboy In Me,” “These Days”, “Everyday” and the groundbreaking “What Hurts The Most,” nominated for Best Country Song at the 2007 Grammy Awards.

STERLING FLETCHERWalt “Fletch” Fletcher and Aimee Fletcher make up the music group Sterling Fletcher. Aimee’s voice has been described as “Sweetness and Twang” and Fletch accompanies with gut-wrenching vocals, unswerving harmonies and spaghetti-western inspired guitar licks. Together they blend their own Americana /Alt-Country style with their family roots of singing preachers and old-time fiddlers to create a unique songwriting brand they like to call Y’all-ternative. Receiving the honor of being named Association for Promotion of Campus Activities “Best Band” Nationally three years in a row, Collaborating with Producer/Songwriter Anthony Crawford—Sugarcane Jane, Willie Sugarcapps and Neil Young’s International Harvesters — on their Full Circle and Bonfire albums released on Uncle Am Records, they also started the Destin / 30-A NSAI chapter and hosted the radio show called “Now That’s Americana” on 30-A Radio. CHRIS STILLSBorn in Boulder, Colorado, raised in Paris, France and Los Angeles, California, Chris Stills infuses his multicultural influences into his work as music artist and actor. Since his debut as a recording artist with his album 100 Year Thing for Atlantic Records produced by Ethan Johns, Chris has toured the world performing with a variety of brilliant artists including, Ryan Adams, Government Mule, Smash-ing Pumpkins, Don Felder, Lucinda Williams, Paul Weller, Ricky Lee Jones, and Angela McClusky to mention a few. Recorded over the last 2 years, Chris has woven an emotion evoking collection of tunes across an eclectic range of styles that encompasses his newest album - Let it Rain. “Leaving You Behind” and “In the Meantime” bring a softer tone while, “Calling the Underground” and “Don’t Be Afraid” herald a grittier, alternative sound that distinguishes his exceptional diversity as an artist. Upon completing Let it Rain, Chris was cast in a recurring role on the hit Showtime series Shameless. Chris’s character is a musician and the show features songs from Let it Rain. Shameless Season 5 begins on Showtime Sunday January 11th at 9pm and airs through March. Chris is also a producer for “Light Up the Blues,” an annual concert that for the past 3 years has helped raise money for Autism Speaks. You can watch Chris perform “Don’t Be Afraid” live by buying the concert film “Light Up the Blues” on iTunes. All proceeds go to Autism Speaks.

ABE STOKLASAAfter studying at Belmont University and University of Miami, Abe Stoklasa began a career as a touring musician. A savvy, quick-witted instrumentalist, he played sax and pedal steel, among other things, for David Nail and Billy Currington before becoming a full time staff writer at Big Yellow Dog Music. Some of his cuts include “Fix” by Chris Lane, “Brand New” by Ben Rector, “Portland, Maine” by Tim McGraw, “A Girl” by Blake Shelton, and “Lie With Me” by Lady Antebellum. Recently, he has worked with Charles Kelley on his solo project and wrote 4 songs for the project, as well as toured with him. Recent cuts include songs by Martina McBride, Charlie Worsham, Kelleigh Bannen, and David Nail. Abe is a cross between James Taylor and Ray Charles. His unique songs blend soul and folk into a style that is completely original.

SUGARCANE JANESugarcane Jane, the Alabama Gulf Coast-based husband and wife duo has amassed an extremely loyal following, all while juggling three young children, two bands (Sugarcane Jane, Willie Sugarcapps), a recording studio (Admiral Bean Studio), and a record label (Baldwin County Public Records) and they wouldn’t have it any other way. Sugarcane Jane found national attention in 2015 for their critically acclaimed Dirt Road’s End album, a record they conceived and coproduced with legendary Americana/Roots singer-song-writer Buzz Cason. Rich, homegrown, and natural, their brand of Americana draws from a deep well of roots influences, interwoven with inflections of gospel, country, and rock. Listeners can expect mostly acoustic sounds, and some of the freshest-sounding vocal harmonies they will ever hear. Their most recent project, Ladders and Edges, recorded and co-produced with long time friend and fellow guitar extraordinaire, Colin Linden, proves that they are in no way slowing down. Available for pre-order with an expected release date of March 2017, Ladders and Edges provides life insights and positive messages, something they wish more music had these days. “To have something enlightening and uplifting to say was our goal in recording this record,” says Savana Lee.

DONNIE SUNDALIn an ever-changing and diverse environment such as the music industry, Donnie’s career has been as unique and eclectic as the immense portfolio of songs he has written, performed and produced. Providing audiences with a voice and sound that is soulful, funky and always on point, Sundal creates an infectious blend of enthusiasm that is easily spread throughout the stage and audience regardless of the venue. Immediately after attending Berklee College of Music, Donnie started touring throughout the U.S. and Canada - eventually settling in Destin, Fla., where he opened Neptone Recording Studio in 2006; a full-service music recording and production facility. Sundal began his current collaboration, Boukou Groove, with New Orleans guitar luminary Derwin “Big D” Perkins, Sharing stages with the likes of Sam Bush, Col.Bruce Hampton and Junior Marvin of The Wailers, Donnie caught the ear of Moog Music and gained an endorsement in 2010. Their Debut Cd A Lil Boukou In Your Cup was discovered by Peter Barakan in Japan and he brought them to his Festival “Live Magic” in 2014. The sophomore Cd Let The Groove Ride was released in Oct 2015, during their 2nd Japan tour that included Peter Barakans Live Magic, Live Magic in Matsue & Blue Note Tokyo.

MATTHEW SWEETMatthew Sweet comes into 30A having spent the better part of 18 months ensconced in his state of the art studio in his home in Omaha recording what tastemakers who have previewed the material are calling a brilliant return to the sound and inspiration of his Girl-friend/ 100% Fun era recordings. After spending the ‘80s as an up-and-coming jangle pop guitarist with Oh-OK, Lloyd Cole, the Gold-en Palominos and in his own band, Buzz of Delight, Matthew Sweet emerged in 1991 as the leading figure of the American power pop revival. Sweet adhered to traditional song craft, yet subverted the form by adding noisy post-punk guitar and flourishes of coun-try-rock, resulting in an amalgam of the Beatles, Big Star, R.E.M., and Neil Young. Sweet’s third album, Girlfriend (1991), became a word-of-mouth critical and commercial hit over the course of 1992, with its title track reaching the Top Five on the Modern Rock charts and went on to achieve platinum certification. For the next five years, as alternative rock was the dominant commercial force in rock & roll, Sweet became a very popular concert attraction and solidified his reputation as the premiere alternative pop singer/songwriter. His next two records, Altered Beast (1993) and 100% Fun (1995) were both critically acclaimed and successful albums, going gold and platinum making many year-end best-of lists. Look for his new record, Tomorrow Forever, coming out on Sony in late Spring 2017.

THE TALL PINESThe Tall Pines are a shack-shakin’, foot-stompin’ duo featuring Connie Lynn Petruk singing and playing drums on an old suitcase, while her partner Christmas Davis plays guitar and sings along. “The Tall Pines are equal parts soul and twang, molasses and moon-shine, sass and skill. The songs, all written by Christmas Davis, evoke the heyday of the country-soul hybrid without ever sounding unoriginal, a difficult feat.” – Meredith Ochs, NPR. “Given the success enjoyed by bands like Alabama Shakes and Shovels and Rope, this deserves to be huge.” – The Soul of a Clown/ UK Blog. “In a world where we are so often overpowered by all that is around us, The Tall Pines strip things back and bring with them, through their music, a much needed reminder that sometimes simpler is better – it certainly is here” – Popwrapped. “Connie Lynn Petruk and Christmas Davis deliver gritty yet soulful folk music that gets your hands clapping and your feet stomping. It’s unlike anything else coming out of Brooklyn – or anywhere, for that matter.” - The Shotgun Seat. “The Civil Wars are certainly civil compared to The Tall Pines. They do not fear to tread where more tender souls would be burned to a crisp.” – Amos Perrine, No Depression. TOMMY TALTONSix decades in, it’s clear that guitarist/songwriter Tommy Talton is still making music for the sheer joy of it. He manages to perform with the energy of a music-obsessed kid and the restraint of a seasoned veteran – because, at heart, he is both. Tommy, founding member of Capricorn Records’ Cowboy, was a studio musician with artists such as Gregg Allman, Allman Brothers Band, Billy Joe Shaver, Bonnie Bramlett, Dickey Betts, Martin Mull, Corky Laing, Clarence Carter, Kitty Wells, Alex and Livingston Taylor, Arthur Conley and more. He toured extensively throughout the U.S. with Cowboy and Gregg Allman’s Laid Back tour, from Carnegie Hall to Fillmore West. Talton was guitarist on Allman’s Laid Back studio album. After two critically acclaimed releases in the last few years, Let’s Get Outta Here Oct. 2012, and, Until After Then, Oct. 2014, Tommy is set to release his latest works Feb. 2017, Somewhere South of Eden.

BRIDGETTE TATUM It’s hard to deny the pure talent and passion for her craft that is clearly the driving force behind many of artist Bridgette Tatum’s high profile career milestones. In 2009, this native of Florence, South Carolina, co-wrote the Most Played Song on Country radio stations across the United States. A tremendous achievement for any songwriter, the song, “She’s Country” (recorded and released by Platinum-selling country superstar Jason Aldean), held the #1 position on the chart for two consecutive weeks. In 2010, Tatum’s song, “Loud” was selected as the Official Theme Song for ACC Football’s 2010 Season. Add to these accolades Tatum’s single releases “I like my (Cowboy’s Dirty),” “That’s Love Y’all,” “Hillbilly Rockstar” and her recent Randy Houser, Kristy Lee Cook, The Farm Gretchen Wilson and George Clinton cuts, “Back,” “Good Timin,” “Lookin’ for a Cowgirl,” “Farm Party,” etc.) and you have the makings of a woman building a sustainable music career for a lifetime of success. “If it’s real and you are making it honest, that’s what people want to hear.” With unfailing honesty and a penchant for risk-taking, Bridgette Tatum is storming the scene on her own terms and winning fans at every turn.

COLE TAYLORWith his simple yet poignant way of capturing universal feelings, Cole Taylor has quickly become an in-demand country songwriter, with Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Chase Rice and others lining up to record his songs. But since no one can truly sing a Cole Taylor song quite like he can, the Georgia native has developed a reputation as an artist with a unique knack for singing timeless truths with a fresh melodic twist. Nine months after moving from Cuthbert, Georgia, to Music City, Taylor signed a publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Nashville in November 2013. Since then, he has released two of his own EP’s and had two songs reach #1 on the country music charts; “Sippin’ On Fire” by Florida Georgia Line and “Home Alone Tonight” by Luke Bryan featuring Karen Fairchild of Little Big Town. Cole has found success writing with top songwriters such as Jimmy Robbins, Rodney Clawson, Ryan Hurd, Matt Dragstrem and Andrew Dorff.

HANNAH THOMASHannah Thomas is bringing her own style of music to the roots rock world with a voice reminiscent of young Bonnie Raitt, grit and bravado that draws comparisons to Melissa Etheridge, and the southern rock soul of Chris Robinson. The 26 year-old musician has been playing professionally for more than a decade, touring with Indigo Girls and opening for or sharing the stage with Pat Benatar, Melissa Etheridge, Kristian Bush (of Sugarland), Terri Clark, Chely Wright, Shawn Mullins, Michelle Malone, Randall Bramblett and more. Thomas’s various influences can be heard on her new album produced by Lester Nuby III (St. Paul and The Broken Bones) in Birmingham, Alabama. Fault Line is her first full-length LP since 2012, spanning the gap between Atlanta’s eclectic roots rock revival and the soulful, classic rock sound of Muscle Shoals. Thomas is joined by an all-star band comprised of Brandon Bush on keys (Sugar-land/Train), Sadler Vaden on guitar (Drivin N Cryin/Jason Isbell), Jimbo Hart on bass (Jason Isbell) and Chad Gamble on drums (Jason Isbell). The LP also includes guest appearances by Terri Clark, Amy Ray of Indigo Girls and Michelle Malone.

TOWNEThis Nashville-based powerhouse duo consists of Pennsylvania bred, music theater geek Steevie Steeves and straight-from-Kentucky, former bassist for punk-rock band, The Pink Spiders, Jon Decious. The two talents unexpectedly crossed paths at Skip Ewing’s Horse and Writer Seminar in Wyoming where they immediately connected musically. Not long after they met, they realized they both lived behind the liquor store on 8th in the heart of Music City, yet they had to travel thousands of miles to find out they were meant to make music together. Together, their unique sound mixes homegrown sentiment with dive bar rock-n-roll. The organic blend of their soulful edge with Americana southern roots makes them extremely unique. The iconic 60’s influences of Fleetwood Mac, James Taylor, and Carole King shine through their voices in every performance. Steevie and Jon’s musical fate finally caught up to them, and the result is both enchanting and wicked; in the words of Decious, “You can outgrow your boots, but you can’t outrun your boots, or at least that’s what I think they say.”

JONATHAN TYLERJonathan Tyler did the rock star thing. He played Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo, Hangout Fest and the Voodoo Experience. His 2010 LP Pardon Me for Atlantic Records reached No. 8 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart. It was everything he thought he’d wanted. But it wasn’t really him. “I knew what I was getting into,” Tyler says now, removed enough from that whirlwind to have gained some perspective on it. “I knew what would happen when we signed with Atlantic. Then I got over it.” Holy Smokes, his newest LP, finds Tyler shed of major-label constraints, bearing his soul as songwriter who’s seen the top of the mountain and now seeks a different kind of climb. “I’m in this for the long haul,” he says now with certainty -- and Holy Smokes, filled with songs that fill every emotional nook and cranny, plays out like a testament to this fact.

REED WADDLEReed Waddle is an award-winning singer/songwriter who splits his time between Atlanta and Nashville. Grammy Award-winning artists such as Lady Antebellum and Darius Rucker have taken note of Reed and placed his songs on hold for their albums. In addition to being featured on XM radio, recording several albums, and playing to crowds consisting of thousands, Reed is the winner of multiple songwriting competitions, including the prestigious Telluride Troubadour songwriting contest at the 2012 Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Born in Atlanta, but raised along the Emerald Coast of Florida, music has taken Reed across the country. A true troubadour, Reed has lived in Boston, Missouri, and New York City. Every location helped to influence his unique and soulful sound. “I’m blessed to play music in different places, for all kinds of people,” Reed says. “My travels across America gave me an education in songwriting. Now that I’m working in Nashville, it feels like I am in Grad School. It’s opened up a whole new world of possibilities.” Reed has a publishing deal with Bandwagon Red in Nashville. He is currently working on an album that should be released this year. To hear some of Reed’s music, go to his website reedwaddle.com

WAGESDeemed “70’s Country Rock Revivalists by Pandora Radio,” WAGES is a band from Memphis, TN, fronted by siblings Houston and Cyrena Wages. Fusing honky tonk edge with wide-open, anthemic melodies and a warmth reminiscent of the 70’s Laurel Canyon scene (think Eagles meets Dwight Yoakam), WAGES brings a modern take on a nostalgic sound. Now based in Nashville, the two children of a small town judge elicit an unapologetic thumbprint. Previously working under the name Friends of Lola, they were the sole country band among the Nashville Scene’s “Best Local Band” ranking last year, and they landed a major motion picture placement in 2015’s A Walk in the Woods, starring Robert Redford and Nick Nolte. After writing and recording various demo projects in town, they are currently writing for their debut record. WAGES hosts a monthly residency, “Country Club,” at East Nashville’s Basement East, showcasing emerging local artists. A “country club where you don’t have to wear a tie and ordering a 40 is encouraged.” Boasting a feel of “no membership fees”, Country Club’s aim is to nurture Nashville’s unique community of artists by providing the laid-back, good-vibe atmosphere that gave Music City its second lease on being an entertainment hub.

SETH WALKERSeth Walker is one of the most revered Southern roots artists in the United States; a three-dimensional talent combining melody and lyric alongside a rich, Gospel-inflected voice with a true blue knack for getting around on the guitar. His latest studio album, Gotta Get Back, produced by Jano Rix of The Wood Brothers, is yet another masterwork that expands upon this reputation. To date, Walker has released nine albums; breaking into the Top 20 of the Americana charts and receiving praise from NPR, American Songwriter and No Depression, among others. Seth is consistently performing at venues and festivals around the world, both headlining and opening artists like The Mavericks, The Wood Brothers, Raul Malo, Paul Thorn and Ruthie Foster, among others. Currently splitting his time between New Orleans and New York City after previously residing in Austin and Nashville, Walker uses those experiences wisely, soaking up the sounds and absorbing the musical lineage of these varied places. Perhaps Country Standard Time said it best: “If you subscribe to the Big Tent theory of Americana, then Seth Walker –with his blend of blues, gospel, pop, R&B, rock, and a dash country – just might be your poster boy.”

BECKY WARRENAs heard on NPR’s All Things Considered, Nashville singer/songwriter Becky Warren’s debut solo album War Surplus relays the affecting, gritty and candid tale of the relationship between an Iraq-bound soldier named Scott and his girlfriend, June. As the story unfolds, the two meet, fall in love, and struggle to hold it all together when he returns from his deployment a changed man living with the echoes of PTSD. From the record’s award-winning lead track “Call Me Sometime,” straight through ‘til the last note, Warren’s potency as a songwriter is on full display, as she weaves a compelling musical narrative rooted in her own life experiences and the rich sounds of Americana and rock & roll. Part of the reason War Surplus hits with such impact is the personal, almost autobiographical nature of Warren’s material. Just like the June character she created, Warren married a soldier back in 2005. A week later, he was deployed to Iraq and eventually returned home with PTSD. They eventually, amicably, split. So while Scott and June are characters, and their story is a fictional account, Warren is able to draw from a deep well of personal experience, and it lends the record a powerful authenticity and empathy.

KELSEY WATERSConsidering that Kelsey Waters began playing bars before she could even drive, it should come as no surprise that she’s such a compelling, self-assured performer. Delivering two-hour sets since she was fourteen, the cover-tune-slinging, precocious-punk-kid morphed along the way into the captivating singer-songwriter she is today. Raised in the 30-A region of the Florida panhandle, Kelsey grew up in the music saturated orbit of a mother who loved to sing and a father who loved to listen. “My mom was in a band and gigging full time when she was pregnant with me. I grew up watching her sit in with local bands after that. We used to ride back and forth from Tallahassee to the beach together and she’d have Patty Griffin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bonnie Raitt or Sheryl Crow in constant rotation. If that’s not an education in strong women, I don’t know what is. Fast forward a bit: Kelsey moved to Nashville at twenty and quickly began making inroads on Music Row. She signed a publishing deal with Little Extra Music and was soon hard at work with some of her songwriting idols, including Lori McKenna (“Girl Crush,” “Humble & kind”) & Tia Sillers (“I Hope You Dance,” “There’s Your Trouble,” “Blue On Black”), building a growing catalog of songs that are both universal and reflective of her unique slant on life. Kelsey is putting the finishing touches on her EP now, scheduled for release in early 2017.

THE WHISKEY GENTRYFormed in 2009 by husband and wife songwriting duo Lauren Staley and Jason Morrow, the Atlanta based band has spent the majority of the last seven years touring the US, averaging over 150 shows per year. They’ve also enjoyed two European tours. A festival circuit favorite, major appearances of theirs include Shaky Knees, Shaky Boots, Merlefest, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, FloydFest, Papa Joe’s Banjo-B-Q, and The Simple Man Cruise. They’ve opened for many diverse acts such as Butch Walter, Cracker, Camper Van Beethoven, Shooter Jennings, Kid Rock, Infamous Stringdusters, and Donna the Buffalo. The Whiskey Gentry have independently released two full-length albums. The band’s 2011 debut, Please Make Welcome, garnered critical acclaim with “Cost of Loving You” selected as a final-ist in the prestigious Chris Austin Songwriting Competition held at MerleFest. The follow up, 2013’s Holly Grove, showcased the band’s edgier Americana sound; it peaked at #16 on the Americana Radio Chart. Live from Georgia arrived in 2014, capturing the raw energy and powerful stage presence fans across the world have come to expect from performances. The band’s new release, entitled Dead Ringer, was recorded at Asheville’s Echo Mountain Studio and will be released on April 7, 2017.

Lari made music history producing Toby Keith’s platinum album White Trash with Money, becoming the first female to produce a male superstar. Her recent production of Shawn Mullin’s My Stupid Heart album received universal acclaim and hit the Billboard Americana and Rock Album charts. Lari’s written songs recorded by Tammy Wynette, Toby Keith, and Danny Gokey. Lari starred opposite Tom Hanks in the blockbuster film Cast Away, in the famous final scene at the crossroads. Other acting roles include Country Strong with Gwynneth Paltrow, and starring roles on Lifetime TV and CMT. She made her Broadway debut starring in Ring Of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash and has performed with the NY, Boston and Pasadena Pops, and the Atlanta and Nashville Symphonies.

HAILEY WHITTERSHailey Whitters has an endearing habit of suggesting she’s perennially late to the party. “I’ve always just felt like a late bloomer,” she says, with a sigh that turns into a laugh. With the release of her debut album Black Sheep (October 2, 2015 via Carnival Music), Whitters proves she was well worth the wait. Produced by ace session guitarist Derek Wells, Black Sheep is a soulful collection that turns sad stories into bold celebrations of people society often shames, layered over honky tonk and rootsy rock. Whitters often writes and sings songs that detail the search for acceptance – of self or of others – sometimes dreamily, other times with rollicking irreverence. Features in No Depression and The Bluegrass Situation, a Daytrotter Session, several nods on 2016 artists-to-watch lists, and other praise have introduced her to a larger audience, who has responded with open arms. In the Spring of 2016, she landed two cuts on Martina McBride’s album, Reckless, and spent the latter half of the year touring on McBride’s Love Unleashed tour.

LILLY WINWOODBorn in Nashville, TN, September 1995, but spending her formative years raised in England, Lilly Winwood has always shown a strong aptitude for music having started playing guitar at age nine and performing in the school choir. Lilly’s voice simmers somewhere between soul and Americana. This is hardly surprising given her father Is the British musician, Steve Winwood, known for his ‘Blue-Eyed Soul’ vocals. Like her father, Lilly has the same innate ability to pick up a musical instrument and connect with It. She plays guitar, keyboards and pedal steel guitar.

He has lived in Nashville for 24 years, with his wife Beth and their son Nathan.

CHELY WRIGHTChely Wright is touring the country in support of her critically-acclaimed Joe Henry-produced studio album entitled I Am The Rain. Rolling Stone says, “the real triumph of I Am The Rain is the creative growth the artist demonstrates throughout. Wright tempers the darker themes on her album with character-driven story songs whether inspired by her years as a touring musician or springing from her vivid imagination.” The Bluegrass Situation notes “the album’s quiet confidence showcases what is probably the truest side of her.” Wright rose to fame as a commercial country singer in the 90’s, releasing eight studio albums and charting more than 15 singles on the Billboard charts. The Academy of Country Music named Chely Top New Female Vocalist of 1995. Her first hit came in 1997 with “Shut Up and Drive” followed two years later by her first number one single, “Single White Female” and in 2005, “The Bumper of My S.U.V.” In 2010, Chely Wright released her eighth album, Lifted Off the Ground produced by Rodney Crowell, revealing a dramatic artistic transformation and emerging as a singer songwriter of the first order. Chely made history by being the first country music star to come out publicly as gay. She also published a memoir entitled Like Me.

BEN FIELDSSome people think of music as something to fill time, or fill silence. Ben Fields knows that music is something to fill life. His debut album on Sire gained critical praise, and since that time he has toured extensively and continued his journey as a singer songwriter. Moving from Brooklyn to Nashville earlier this year, Fields feels he has found his musical and spiritual home. ‘I knew the first time I went there, it was Mecca. For someone in my genre who is motivated by the song, there’s nowhere like it on earth.’ Since then he has been working on his new record currently titled Everything matters, Nothings important. From songs he’s written solo to co-writes with songwriting legends like Lori McKenna and Rivers Rutherford, it’s clear that Fields has done his homework and is ready for his sophomore album.

Kim’s song “Under the Weather” also won the Searchlight indie song competition from In Search of a Song, a national radio series that interviews world class artists about songwriting. Kim is currently wrapping up work on the 4th Good Graces full-length, to be released in summer/fall of 2017.

ALEX GUTHRIEAlex Guthrie is an Atlanta-based singer/songwriter and guitarist. His powerful, soulful voice and insightful lyrics have established him in the Southeast as a must-see artist. Combining influences from classic rock, blues, and folk, Alex has a sound that bridges genres and connects, emotionally, to the music lover in everyone. If Folk-Rock is the best category in which to place Alex, as some say, he accepts it with a broad, open smile and says, “then I just want to make some Great Folk’n Music.”

KORBY LENKER No Depression Magazine: “One of the most striking things about seeing Lenker perform is his relationship with his guitar. He doesn’t just play it, he becomes it -- or maybe, it becomes a part of him.” Korby Lenker was born and raised in Twin Falls Idaho a mile from where Evel Knievel tried to jump the canyon on a motorcycle in the seventies. Most recently a 1st place winner at the 2016 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriter’s Competition (previous alum include Gregory Alan Isakov and Deb Talan of The Weepies), Korby is a dynamic, compelling performer. And now he is is a published author. Korby’s book MEDIUM HERO is a collection of short sto-ries based on his last decade touring the world and came out on Turner Publishing in December 2015 to enthusiastic reviews. Steve Wozniak said: “The stories in Medium Hero are just like his songs — clever and well-crafted, with a tendency to linger in your mind long after you’ve finished reading.”

LASLOWInspired by a range of musical influences and a bond brotherhood, Laslow was born with the idea that diversity, collaboration and personal experience can create a unique canvas of sound and spirit, passion and hope, and renewal of the senses. Half-brothers Eli Battles and Drew Thurston are the core muscians/ writers that make up Laslow; a duo that grew up 6 years apart in age with different musical interests, but influenced by their surroundings and geography. Music works well as a connecting point between the brothers, combining the strengths of Eli’s lyrical abilities and Drew’s sense of arrangement and production. A convergence occurred with Laslow’s debut recording A Quality of Light, an album which presents a journey for the listener with a colorful palette of rhythms and harmony and a genuine vibe that feels honest, spirited, and most of all - real. Eli and Drew guide one another throughout Laslow’s music, sharing the many experiences they’ve had individually and together. According to the brothers, the sound of Laslow is best described as ‘indie folk pop.’ A new collection of material to come will bring forth a more “electric” sound than the more acoustically oriented arrangements featured in A Quality of Light.

JEREMY LISTERMississippi native, Jeremy Lister moved to Nashville in 2003, bringing his first solo EP, Shooting Star, with him. In 2005, he released his second album, So Far, followed by the Just One Day EP, released by Warner Bros. Records in 2007. In May of 2010, Jeremy joined the Nashville-based a cappella group, Street Corner Symphony, for NBC’s second season of The Sing-Off. Street Corner Symphony became a fan-favorite, eventually claiming the second place title in the competition. Immediately following the show, The Sing-Off judge Ben Folds invited them out on the road. Jeremy released his LP, The Bed You Made, in 2011. His song “Sinking Stone” was recorded by Alison Krauss and Union Station on their Grammy-Award winning album Paper Airplane. The album also featured a duet by Lister and Krauss, “You and I.” His song “Set Us Free” was chosen to be the theme song for MTV’s series, The World Of Jenks. Currently Jeremy is touring and recording with several projects (Lister Brothers, Street Corner Symphony) and writing for his 5th solo album.

RADOSLAV LORKOVICBorn in Zagreb, Croatia, Radoslav Lorkovic was just three when he began putting on floor shows for his grandfather and friends, who cheered him on and showered the boy with coins. When he was six, the family moved to the U.S. — first to Minnesota and then to Iowa. And by his teens, classically trained in piano, he was heading toward a life in classical music when the blues sidetracked him and he began to turn his distinctive piano style into a career that has led him to the Canary Islands, Yup’ik villages, the Kennedy Center, and Carnegie Hall. His latest solo recording is “Homer: A Piano Odyssey,” recorded live at the Center for the Arts of Homer.

LEVI LOWREYBorn in Dacula, GA, Levi Lowrey has always known that he was made for music. His great, great, great-grandfather, Gid Tanner, was a fiddle player in the Skillet Lickers band during the 1920s and 30s, and was one of the first artists to ever sell a million records. Lowrey began performing when he was 12 years old and has forged a veritable path of success ever since. As co-writer on Zac Brown Band’s CMA Awards nominated song, “Colder Weather,” Lowrey’s signature style of poignant honesty, both dark and light, acts like a salve for kindred souls. Drawing inspiration from the struggles and triumphs of his own life, Lowrey lays his heart on his sleeve, reassuring us that we’re not alone.

Molly Stevens grew up in Macon, Ga. and Declan McGarry hails from Winipeg, Manatoba. They met in Nashville in 2010 and paired up as writing partners but it wasn’t until 2014 that the duo formed. Me and Molly will release their debut record titled Old Friend on February 3rd.

SARAH MILESSarah Miles has garnered comparisons to a broad array of artists such as Kelsea Ballerini, Christina Perri, Maren Morris, and Colbie Caillat. She has gorgeously flowing dynamics as a singer, capable of euphoric skyward melodies and intimately fragile phrasing. Her songwriting is empowering, authentic, and stylistically touches upon country, pop and folk. It’s an infectious blend of accessible song-craft and bold emotional candor. “I like to write songs that are relatable to everyone,” Sarah says of the warm intimacy inherent in her songwriting. Sarah’s song, “Something About You,” won numerous songwriting awards in Nashville, and was aired on NBC’s, The Voice. She’s toured or opened for acclaimed singer-songwriters such as Rachel Platten, Sister Hazel, Teddy Geiger, Tony Lucca, Ingram Hill, Matt Duke, Tyler Hilton, and Pat McGee. You can also hear Sarah’s vocals on the new TBS television show, Angie Tribeca.

OLD SALT UNIONOld Salt Union is known for playing music by their own set of rules. While its members are not complete rebels, they are certainly thinking about the future of music. They find influence in the roots of The Del McCoury Band and Sam Bush, but also draw inspiration from Bill Evans, Danny Elfman, Punch Brothers, and many others. What makes OSU so special is their ability to stretch the bound-aries of traditional bluegrass music by incorporating in-depth musical arrangements, catchy hooks, and an uncanny pop sensibility. Established in May of 2012, OSU recorded their debut album Western Skies in October. Released in March of 2013, it was met by an overwhelmingly positive response. In January of 2014 OSU began exclusively touring the country, exposing more fans to their complex, high energy, well-executed sound. Their second studio album Bridge tells a tale of transition. In two years they shown they are a force to be reckoned with. They have made appearances at the John Hartford Memorial Festival, ROMP, Wakarusa, LouFest, Stagecoach, and Yonder Mountain String Band’s Harvest Festival, sharing the stage with The Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush, Leftover Salmon, Jeff Austin Band, Greensky Bluegrass, Ricky Skaggs, and more.

PARKER & PARKER Parker & Parker are Caryl and Scott Parker - combined they are an award winning recording artist, singer songwriting, producer and publishing team. A true “singer’s singer,” Caryl has become a mainstay in the Nashville music scene, working as a session vocalist, songwriter and accompanist with such artists as Vince Gill, Trisha Yearwood, Amy Grant, James Otto, Kevin Welch, Jimmy Hall, Ashley Cleveland, Kim Hill, Jude Cole and Will Hoge. As a staff-writer for Warner/Chappell, Hamstein, and Scream Music, her songs were recorded by artists such as Patty Loveless and for television shows such as The West Wing. Caryl’s latest album, Rancho Divine, is a compilation of ten previously unreleased recordings spanning the past decade. It is an organic blend of spatial soundscapes and stories perfectly crafted as the backdrop for her crystalline voice. Scott Parker is an award-winning songwriter & producer. The well-traveled son of an International Diplomat and Military officer. Following college in Texas, his wanderlust led to years as a touring musician, working over 300 dates per year. After marrying his lifelong music collaborator Caryl, the couple moved to Portland, Oregon where they chalked up songwriting awards, a publishing deal with Warner/Chappell, and a solid AAA fan-base throughout the Northwest. Parker has produced or written songs recorded by Patty Loveless, Sister Hazel, Will Hoge, James Otto, Joanna Cotten, John David Webster, Kim Hill, Tim Rushlow, George Canyon, and many others. He’s served as staff-writer/producer for several national publishing compnies and produced albums for major record labels. In 2005 he co-founded Hearts Bluff Music Publishing, a $20 million music publishing company whose current portfolio includes over 50 #1 songs, 4 Hall of Fame Songwriters, 10,000 titles and 25 different catalogs.

GRETCHEN PLEUSSTo date, Ohio-native Pleuss has played at an array of prominent venues and festivals throughout the United States, Europe, and Can-ada, including but not limited to Indie Week Europe, 30A Songwriters Festival, and The Kent State Folk Festival. In recent years, she has shared the bill with songwriters such as Lisa Loeb, Bill Payne (Little Feat), and Griffin House. Pleuss’ discography includes an E.P. and two full-length albums. Her 2013 release Out of Dreams was produced by Jim Wirt (Fiona Apple, Incubus, etc.) and can be found on iTunes. Her third full-length album From Birth, to Breath, to Bone was self-produced and is available on CD, vinyl, and digitally on her website, www.gretchenpleuss.com. “As with some of her proudly stated musical heroes, which include Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Paul Simon, and Ani DiFranco, Pleuss keeps the music above the standard, three-chord, coffee-house troubadour sound with some cool chord progressions (a la Mitchell) and grooves underneath layered vocal harmonies. Pleuss also trusts her lilting melodies enough to use her quiet, emotive alto to sell her lyrics.” - Malcolm X Abram, The Akron Beacon Journal

HUGH MITCHELLCalled the “golden-throated troubadour” by American Songwriter Magazine, Hugh Mitchell is originally from Birmingham, AL and attributes his earliest experiences with his wide array of influences. “My first real good payin’ gig was playing guitar in Black Gosepl Choirs and churches,” says Hugh. “Then I fronted a neo-soul band playing black and white clubs. Then we plugged in and duked it out in bars for a few years. Finally after writing songs in Nashville for a while, I’m here.” In 2016, Hugh recorded his latest record with his producer, former Wilco drummer, Ken Coomer, and co-wrote the title track to Charlie Mars’ next record. Hugh has spent the past year touring the southeast headlining clubs and opening theater shows. No Depression says, “Hugh Mitchell walked away from a suc-cessful career as a sideman and began writing and recording earthy, honest songs which serve to show off his stunning vocal abilities.”
