Community
Hospitality: As a community of faith, St. Therese’s Parish Community provides an atmosphere where we hope and pray that each person feels welcome and en-couraged to grow in a deeper faith in Jesus Christ.
“All Are Welcome!”
Parish Membership: We welcome all who wish to join our parish. Please con-tact the parish office at your earliest con-venience. We would like to meet with you and see that your presence in the parish is properly acknowledged and registered. We also would like to remind parishioners to notify the office of changes of address and/or telephone number.
Christian Initiation Process: This is a process by which believers become members of the Roman Catholic Church. This journey in faith is con-cerned with the total formation of the person into believing, living, praying and serving with the Church community. This gradual development climaxes in the celebration of Initiation at Eastertime. Our Inquiry Period is ongoing. For more information, contact the office.
Stewardship
God has entrusted us with many gifts: Time, Talent & Treasure. We hope and pray that all members will share their giftedness, to continue to “share the Good News of Jesus with all people” and “build up the Body in Love.”

Reconciliation: The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated weekly every Saturday at 4:00 to 4:30 PM, or anytime upon request and also in a fuller form seasonally throughout the year.
Marriage: In order to properly prepare for marriage, it is expected that the couple contact the pastor to arrange for an ap-pointment prior to making other arrange-ments. This must be done at least six months pr ior to the desir ed date of mar-riage. One or both individuals should be members of the Parish for at least one year before marriage at St. Therese’s.

Have You Ever Wondered...?
Have you ever wondered what the symbol on the tabernacle door means? How about the story behind our beautiful stained-glass windows? And what are those three jars in the cabinet near the baptismal font?
In observance of the Feast of Saint Therese, Father Jim will host a tour of our magnificent Church on Monday, October 1, at 6:30 P.M. A social will follow in Father Sammons Hall.
All are welcome as we discuss the rich symbolism that permeates our Church building... from the Mosaics and Stations of the Cross to the Vestments and Vessels used at Mass.
Please join us for an evening of discovery, learning, and fellowship.
Our annual event will be held on Friday, September 28th. If you serve on a committee
or ministry and have not yet received an invitation, please contact Terri at
570-696-1144 ASAP.
Coinciding with the kickoff of our Environmental Ministry, we have an educational opportunity right in our own back yard, On Thursday Sept. 20 at 7PM in Lemmond Hall at Misericordia University, Dr. Robert Musil P.H.D.; M.P.H. will address Environmental Climate justice issues. Anyone interested in learning more about caring for earth is invited to attend. The event is free and open to the public.
Congratulations to Peggy Harvey on being awarded Diocesan recognition for her service in Religious Education. She r eceived the Saint John XXIII 25 year award for teaching in the Religious Education Program. We are grateful for her dedica-tion and caring in her teaching, as well as her love for the children. Peggy shared the benefits of her teaching ministry: “As a member of St. Therese’s my whole life (my First Communion was celebrated at St. Therese’s), I suppose what I have gained personally is a feeling of giving back. All the religious milestones in my life have been at this wonderful parish. Because I teach 2nd grade, I need to teach children, now and then, to be comfortable receiving the sacraments and to do it with joy. We have a wonderful program which can be a model for other parishes. “

romance with memory making evenings)

Dates start at 6:00 pm in Father Sammons Hall. The night begins with a 15 minute DVD, before you leave for your personal date. Date ideas in-clude dinner, taking a walk, taking a drive, etc. Anything that will allow discussion time with each other.
There is no fee to attend, and the Parish will pro-vide the accompanying book for free.
Ruth’s Place: Our par ish has another oppor -tunity to prepare a meal for the homeless women of Ruth’s Place on Mon., Sept. 24th. Look for the poster in the vestibule of the church this weekend and put your name and phone number on the item you will donate. Items needed will be entrées, side dishes, salads, breads or rolls, desserts and drinks. You will then be contacted by a member of the Social Justice Committee to confirm your selec-tion. Prepared food can be dropped off at 5 pm in the church parking lot (elevator side). Members of the committee will deliver the meals to Ruth’s Place. For further information call Sue at 570-407-0092.
