The LMCI Value Network

“The best way to build partnership is through honest face-to-face communication away from the bargaining table.”

— William McDevitt, Administrator Labor Management Cooperation Initiative

The Value of Leadership Training

On any job site, the foremen are the most important links to success. They must be

organized, effi cient and know how to motivate. To help contractors increase the knowledge

base of their trusted and skilled leaders, LMCI has created leadership training programs.

Project Management – Through classroom and distance learning, our Project Management

program teaches your managers to better plan, lead, organize and control the management

of projects and programs, from inception to reality.

Supervisor Training I & II – Newer supervisors/foremen will work with the right tools and

techniques to better understand and broaden their responsibilities. Experienced supervisors

can strengthen their skills in both traditional and emerging areas. This training is open to all

fi eld supervisors and foremen.

Top Workplace Performance Stewards Training Program – Classes designed for the

Finishing Trades Industry include: collective bargaining agreements, trust, one-on-one

mentoring, job site problem solving and industry professionalism and the role that Labor/

Management plays in following the Top Work Place Performance (TWP) plan set forth

by the IUPAT, FCA and affi liated partners of the Finishing Trades Industry. A well-trained,

qualifi ed steward for today’s industries benefi ts both management and labor.

Participants will learn how Labor and Management play an equal part in the evaluation of

employees’ job site conduct, work quality, attitude and skill level.

from the over 500 qualifi ed instructors in the industry. Here are a few of our programs to

choose from:

It’s important to remember that employers of all sizes need to ensure the health, safety and

welfare of employees, contractors and people visiting their sites. The penalties for failing to

meet legislative requirements can be high, including fi nes and legal expenses.

LMCI’s STAR — the Safety Training Award Recognition program rewards union members

who participate in safety courses. Case studies have proven that those who participate in

the STAR program have less OSHA violations. A year-end awards program showcases the

best contractors and union members.

The LMCI Value Network

If you need skilled labor the Painters and Allied Trades Labor Management Cooperation Initiative, Finishing Trades Institute, and Job Corps Program can meet with manufacturers before the project starts to train and certify your workforce to meet product application specifi cations for the project.

Through LMCI’s partnership with the Finishing Trades Institute (FTI), utilizing their register apprenticeship

program and journeyperson continuing education program, you can develop the skilled productive workforce for

hydro blasters and vacuum truckers that you need for your business.

Even with branches all over North America in more than 60 Training Facilities, a dedicated FTI Director of

Education at each location acts as a single point of contact to take care of all educational needs.

Training is on the job, so your apprentices can learn the skills that work best for your business. Keep your

competitive advantage by training your people now and equipping them with the skills you need for the future.

And remember, you can never over-estimate the value of an educated workforce.
