DATA CENTERThe TEK Center features a working data center with several network architectures on display. You’ll have the opportunity to touch, feel and experience different infrastructures and topologies. You will see different migration paths from 1G to 10G to 100G and beyond, and how you can condense more fibers (or copper) into smaller and smaller footprints using Berk-Tek’s Micro Datacenter Plenum (MDP) fiber optic cable or our TekPatch Mini-6 28 AWG patch cable.

We can customize our demo area to preview how different network infrastructures could work for you. Some examples of how include:

ENTERPRISEThe enterprise showcase contains examples of various environments including indoor, outdoor, security, office, campus and more. It includes a security demo using our OneReach™ PoE Extender System, which allows you to extend your PoE-enabled network out to 4,000 feet. Additionally, we can demonstrate the effects of simultaneous transmission of voice, data and power can have on real world applications. Berk-Tek’s direct attach solution is on display and you can see how the advantages of this solution when connecting numerous IP devices like 802.11ac wireless access points, IP cameras, etc.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENTBerk-Tek has world class research and development facilities, staffed with engineers whose sole focus is to develop innovative structured cabling solutions. Two of those labs are:

• Applications Lab: We put our cables throughrigorous testing of real world applications,in real world environments to make sure theyperform as designed.

• Materials Lab: The engineers in thematerials lab formulate and developinnovative materials and processingtechniques for Berk-Tek’s high performingcables. Berk-Tek develops our own materialsin order to give us the ability to protect yournetwork traffic from the heat of PoE like onlywe can.
