The Twenty-fifth Amendment (1967)
• If the president dies or leaves office, the vice president becomes president.
• The New President should choose a new vice president
• President nominates someone
• The Senate AND House must approve
• Used 2x – Spiro Agnew resigned and Richard Nixon
• Enables vice president to “act as president” until the president can go back to work. Ex: surgical procedures.
