When to use Past Progressive?Past
Progressive• Two actions occurred at the same time, but one action began earlier and was in progress when the other action occurred.

Non-Progressive Verbs. P16• Verbs that describe states, not actions are
non-progressive. They are also called “Stative verbs.
• There are verbs that are always non-progressive.
• Example: Know.
• There are verbs with both progressive and non-progressive meaning.
• Example: look: It looks cold outside. = it seems Hind is looking out the window.
Examples of Verbs Never Used in Continuous Tenses

Spelling• Verb that end with constant +

1. Just add the –ing:
Work: working.
• Verbs that end with Vowel+ Vowel + Constant:
1. Just add the –ing:
fool: fooling.

• Verb that end with Constant + e1. Delete the –e.2. Add the –ing
