BHSWCA GUIDE TO SUMMER SCHOOL 2016

Summer School Expectations

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The 2015-2016 School Year presented many opportunities, as well as celebrated

milestones. For those students that need a a bit more instruction to receive credit

and/or Regents exam preparation, it is our pleasure to be able to offer a summer

school program. This additional support for our students allows them to take

advantage of every opportunity to stay on course to graduation. Please use the

calendars and information presented to you here as a guide to understand the summer

school session and review it with your child. Given the large amount of work that

there is to do in a relatively short amount of time it is crucial that each student

approach the summer school session very seriously, meet all submission deadlines and

required seat time, and work independently both inside and outside of the classroom.

* The Summer School Staff Thanks You for you support.*

Thank You to all of our BHSWCA Families.

Please know that there is always someone

available through out the summer that you

can get in contact with.

Enjoy the summer!!!

The bill, known as “Avontes’ Law,” was passed last year and required the Department of

Education to access its buildings for the need for door alarms and other precautions to prevent

students from being able to exit their schools unnoticed. As a result, the alarms have been

installed in our building. The door alarm system was activated Monday, July 12, 2015 and are

installed on Every exit door. All students must enter using their assigned scanning location.

For departure from the building, ALL STUDENTS MUST EXIT THROUGH THE MAIN EXIT ON THE

1ST FLOOR. Should you use an unauthorized door, an alarm will go off and the school safety and

administration will be forced to respond and violating parties will be subject to disciplinary and

legal consequences with Avonte’s Law.

We thank you for your continued support. Should you have any questions or concerns, please

see your Principal, Terri Grey or email her at [email protected] or call her at

347-754-0317.
