Bronx Business Awards 2018 Gala Celebration
The Bronx Business Awards 2018 Gala Celebration was an amazing event with nearly 300
very happy members and guests. I want to share my remarks as a follow-up for members and
friends that were unable to attend. Below is a
copy of my speech.
Welcome to the Bronx version of the Academy Awards! We rolled out
the “Red Carpet” and I see a lot of folks wearing tuxedoes and evening
gowns. Don’t forget to pick up your souvenir photo taken on the “Red Carpet”. This great and fun event will continue to grow and grow each year.
There is an amazing renaissance happening in The Bronx and in The
Bronx Chamber of Commerce. You can feel the energy and the enthusiasm here tonight. You are seeing just the “tip of the proverbial
iceberg”. There are unlimited possibilities and opportunities. I often say,
“You never know where your next big deal is going to come from!”
I am looking for very smart and very talented people to serve on key
committees of the Chamber including the Membership Committee. My
vision is to create and cultivate Community and Strategic Partnerships to build a Greater Bronx to be a magnet for economic growth into the
foreseeable future. If you believe in my vision, this is your opportunity to help make it happen!
Our 2018 Bronx Business Directory & Resource Guide is an excellent
high quality and a really beautiful publication. The Digital Edition is also
very cool with hyperlinks to websites and email addresses.
If you are currently not a Chamber member, tonight is your lucky night.
Each new member that joins tonight will save $100 on the application fee. I
recommend multiple members from each company or organization to increase business referral opportunities. Speak to Sashee’ Rivera at the
registration table to join and you will be listed in the 2019 Bronx Business Directory alphabetically and by specialty or category. Remember this, “You
never know where your next big deal is going to come from!”
I’d like to thank my Gala Committee for their incredible support, encouragement and participation. A special “Bronx Shout Out” to John
Bonizio, Metro Optics Eyewear; Geri Sciortino, Bronx Design; Lisa Sorin,
Westchester Square BID, Vanessa Baijnauth, Ridgewood Savings Bank; Yvette Bissett-Andre, Unique Peoples Services; Kathy Zamechanky, KZA
Realty and last but not least our very own and talented Chairman Joe Kelleher, Hutchinson Metro Center!
Congratulations to the distinguished 2018 Gala Honorees, Sponsors,
Journal advertisers and Hosts of Reserved Tables in making our 2018 Gala
even more memorable. In closing, I’d like to thank my staff and volunteers that helped make the Gala run very smoothly. Have a great evening!
I look forward to seeing you at our next networking event!
“You never know where your next big deal is going to come from.”

The Bronx Chamber
TESTIMONIALS
Nunzio Del Greco is doing an outstanding job in leading and growing The Bronx Chamber of Commerce. I look forward to joining him along with the other leaders who are making a significant difference in The Bronx.
Rob Walsh, Former SBS Commissioner
Bottom Line for Small Business, 1010 WINS
“The Bronx Chamber of Commerce is a great organization that promotes business growth and is always looking for ways to improve the community. The Chamber provides networking opportunities, educational workshops, advertising and community leadership and outreach. As a chamber member, I attend many of their events and developed great business relationships. The Chamber members are an engaging group of professionals offering a wide variety of business opportunities. In addition, the staff of the Bronx Chamber of Commerce does a great job with support to their members.”
Elizabeth Figueroa, The New York Botanical Garden
“(Bronx Chamber Membership) Helped to increase awareness of mental health disorders and a few organizations came out to hear more about our services, with one person sending us a referral for services. We partnered with The Bronx Chamber and Senator Klein’s H.I.R.E. Program to employ 4 people in our organization from a one-day job fair collaboration. The Jewish Board has inquired into and used vendors (including office equipment and solar panel) and other organizations in the Bronx Chamber’s networking circle. We have developed three internships for our volunteers through networking with the Chamber that included a graphic artist developer, Bronx Arts, and a local eatery”.
Charles Benson, Jewish Board Family & Community Service.
”ISE Office Plus was a member of The Bronx Chamber of Commerce when they first started but hadn’t been for many years. In 2014, when my partners and I took over the company, we thought it was a good idea to become a member again….and we’re so glad we did! The Bronx Chamber has been great and offers so many networking opportunities. The staff is extremely helpful and we’re grateful for the service they provide!”
Kerri Damon, ISE Office Plus

CHAIRMAN’S MESSAGE
Spectacular Gala on April 18 2018! We had a spectacular Gala on April 18th with
excellent honorees! Our networking events continue to
grow in attendance and representation of a cross-section of businesses in The Bronx. On the front page of this
month’s issue, an impressive list of companies or organizations were Gala Sponsors, Journal Advertisers or Hosts of Reserved
Tables. I am thrilled with the direction and enthusiasm evident in our Bronx
Chamber of Commerce with Nunzio Del Greco, President and CEO at the helm.
As I mentioned in my column in the April Issue of the monthly newsletter,
“The Bronx Chamber of Commerce benefits all stakeholders: members, Bronx
businesses, non-profit organizations and the entire Bronx Community”.
As our President and CEO, Nunzio Del Greco strongly believes and stated:
“Membership in the Bronx Chamber of Commerce is one of those little things
that can make a Big Difference in helping you grow your business!” Regardless of the size of your company or organization, membership provides
priceless benefits including the following Top 3:
1. Members receive instant credibility and become aligned with some of the most prominent companies and organizations in The Bronx.
Members are invited to attend our popular Meet-Up networking events and are provided the opportunity to introduce themselves, describe
products or services they offer and cultivate new customers or clients.
2. Members are listed in The Annual Bronx Business Directory & Resource Guide. The impressive and valuable guide includes a wealth
of resource information, alphabetical listings of members of the Chamber in addition by category or specialty for an important source
business referrals. For high tech members, the Digital Edition features
hyperlinks to advertiser’s websites and direct email access to members with one click.
3. Members may serve on important committees of the Chamber as an excellent way to network, meet potential new customers, contribute
directly to the work of the Chamber, interact with, share ideas and
common interests, and further the Chamber’s Mission.
With the warmer temperatures and if you are a golfer, you are probably
