The Science Ambassador Program The Science Ambassadors are senior undergraduate or graduate students in the natural sciences and engineering who spend an extended period of time (for example, 4-5 weeks) in schools with high proportion of aboriginal students. The Science Ambassadors assist teachers in presenting science concepts from the curriculum in exciting and culturally-relevant ways. Student, Comp.Science, in Wollaston Lake; 2010 Our Success To evaluate the effect of the program on the attitudes of the students’ towards science, two surveys were completed by the students’, one when the ambassadors arrived at the school, and the other right before the Ambassadors departed. The research information gathered from the surveys is used to continually improve and expand the program to meet the needs of the students and teachers. Some of the results are shown below.
