THE SCOOP Live, Learn, Laugh... Love Lyndhurst 22/11/2019 ISSUE 10 FOL NEWS ATTENDANCE THEME OF THE WEEK This week we have been working on "being a really good friend" and will continue with this next week. Please talk to your child about what you think it takes to be a good friend - are your values the same? INTERNATIONAL EVENING Thank you so much for coming to our International Evening - it was really lovely to see so many families. As ever the food was amazing and there was so much of it! One table had Bolivian rice, Irish stew, British sausages, East African bread and Irish soda bread! YEAR 3 TATE EXHIBITION Please read our newsletter and don't forget to have a go at making a Jarbola. Last year our current Year 4 took part in the Steve McQueen Year 3 portrait project. The exhibition has just opened at the Tate so do go along and find our children! THANK YOU A massive thank you to everyone who brought in their spare international currency for the library. We have started sorting through it and are really moved by everyone’s generosity and enthusiasm. It’s very exciting to think about all the journeys made by Lyndhurst’s families over the years, to such a fascinating variety of places. We have managed to sort only a fraction of it but have identified money from over 37 different countries already! We will of course let you know once we have a final tally, but the bucket is still in the office if you stumble across any other unwanted coins! PENS FOR KIDS UK Leo from Waikato Class is collecting pens, crayons and pencils for "Pens for Kids UK" to send to school in Ghana and India. If you have any working pens, pencils or crayons you would like to donate, please drop them off in the box outside Waikato Class. Last week we reached 95.81% as a school with first place going to Yarra with 99.23%, second place going to Amazon with 98.52% and third place going to Rio Grande with 98%.
