After all, summer is just around the corner!While setting a fitness resolution, whether for a New Year or a new bathing suit, is easy enough, sticking to it can be a lot trickier! Here are some top tips to help you really enjoy working out:

GET SUPPORTIf you surround yourself with people that encourage you to be healthy, you will be more motivated to stay with it. Remember, misery loves company. Try to find a workout partner that you can meet for a workout class or for a morning run, or hire a trainer to kick start your regimen and help keep you on track.

JOURNAL YOUR PROGRESSKeep a fitness journal from day one. Record what you did and how you felt before and after your workout. This will allow you to see what you have accomplished, feel better about yourself, and stay accountable to your goal.

BE REALISTICIf you decide every year that you are going to run a marathon, but you have never even made it to a mile, then you may be setting yourself up for disappointment. Start small with your goals and remember that you can always rewrite your goals as you see yourself progress. Who knows, you may actually run that marathon one day!

MAKE A PLANBecoming physically fit can be very intimidating, especially if you have never stepped foot inside a gym before. If you have a proper plan, whether written by you or by a certified trainer, you are more apt to follow it. Having an outline will take you step by step to your goal instead of being overwhelmed by the end result before you even start.

FESTIVE PRIX-FIXE MENURing in the Chinese New Year in style with a one-night-only special event at re/Asian Cuisine by Wolfgang Puck that will include a festive prix-fixe menu honoring the Year of the Monkey curated by Executive Chef, Brian Becher. The three-course menu begins with a Whole Jumbo Head-on Prawn, which represents family togetherness, along with smoked Chinese bacon and garlic-scallion sauce. The second course, which represents the five blessings of the New Year including longevity, riches, peace, wisdom, and virtue, includes Cumin-Soy Marinated Lamb Chops with a five vegetable stir-fry. The final course includes Monkey Bread Sticky Cake with tangerine ice cream and was chosen because the pronunciation for the word “tangerine” sounds much like the pronunciation of the word “money” in Mandarin. Prior to dinner, guests will have the opportunity to indulge in five live-action stations that include delicacies such as Roasted Whole Duckling; Xio Long Bao; Chinese New Year Dumplings; Crispy Lamb Belly; and Longevity Noodles.

MEMBERS ONLY COOKING DEMONSTRATION AT re / ASIAN CUISINE Learn how celebrity chefs make their signature dishes in an exclusive cooking class at re / Asian Cuisine. CUT’s Chef Ben Small, re / Asian Chef Brian Becher, and Wolfgang Puck Executive Pastry Chef Pierre Chambon will give interactive demonstrations of their favorite dishes, after which our spa members will have a seated lunch to enjoy the dishes they have been shown.

CHEF FOR A DAY DRAWOur Chef for a Day Drawing is coming up! 06 • UNPARALLELED TRAINING

STATION 1: GOBLET SQUATTip: Lower your hips as deep as you can.

Grab a dumbbell and hold it vertically in front of your chest, with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Keeping your back naturally arched, push your hips back, bend your knees, and lower your body until the tops of your thighs are at least parallel to the floor. Pause, then push yourself back up to the start. If that’s too hard, do a bodyweight squat instead.

STATION 2: MOUNTAIN CLIMBERTip: Lift your leg as if you’re climbing a mountain.

Assume a pushup position with your arms completely straight. Your body should form a straight line from your head to your ankles. Without allowing your lower-back posture to change, lift your foot off the floor and slowly raise your knee toward your chest. Return to the starting position, and repeat with your left leg, alternating back and forth each repetition.

STATION 3: SINGLE-ARM DUMBBELL SWINGTip: Use momentum to swing your arm up.

Hold a dumbbell (or a kettlebell) at arm’s length in front of your waist. Without rounding your lower back, bend at your hips and knees and swing the dumbbell between your legs. Keeping your arm straight, thrust your hips forward and swing the dumbbell to shoulder level as you rise to a standing position. Swing the weight back and forth. At the 30-second mark, switch arms.

TRAIN THE SPARTACUS WAY!If you are looking for a fun, high intensity workout that targets every part of your body every time you work out, then Four Seasons Spartacus Workout may be the workout for you! The Spartacus Workout consists of 60-second workouts. To make the most out of this workout, you should do as many reps as you can (with perfect form) at each station during the timeframe, and then move on to the next station. The Spartacus Workouts will challenge your heart and lungs, as well as your muscles, and is a super fast way to get amazing results! For best results, do this circuit class 3 days a week.

STATION 4: T-PUSHUPGrab a pair of hex dumbbell handles and set yourself in pushup position, your arms straight. Then bend your elbows and lower your body until your chest nearly touches the floor. As you push yourself back up, lift your right hand and rotate the right side of your body up as you raise the dumbbell straight over your shoulder until your body forms a T. Reverse the move, then repeat on your right side.

STATION 7: DUMBBELL SIDE LUNGE AND TOUCHTip: Your toes should point forward.

Grab a pair of dumbbells and hold them at arm’s length next to your sides. Lift your left foot and take a big step to your left as you push your hips backward and lower your body by dropping your hips and bending your knees. As you lower your body, bend forward at your hips and touch the dumbbells to the floor. Do all your reps with your left leg, then repeat with your right. If that’s too hard, do the same move without the dumbbells; simply reach for the floor with your hands.

STATION 8: PUSHUP POSITION ROWTip: Don’t allow your torso to rotate as you row.

Grab a pair of hex dumbbell handles and set yourself in pushup position, your arms straight. Keeping your core stiff, row the dumbbell in your right hand to the side of your chest, by pulling it upward and bending your arm. Pause, then lower the dumbbell back down quickly, and repeat the same movement with your left arm.

STATION 9: DUMBBELL LUNGE AND ROTATIONTip: Bend your front knee 90 degrees.

Grab a dumbbell and hold it vertically in front of your chest, with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart. Keeping your back naturally arched, push your hips back, bend your knees, and lower your body until the tops of your thighs are at least parallel to the floor. Pause, then push yourself back up to the start. If that’s too hard, do a bodyweight squat instead.

STATION 10: DUMBBELL PUSH PRESSStand holding a pair of dumbbells just outside of your shoulders, with your arms bent and palms facing each other. Set your feet should be shoulder-width apart, your knees slightly bent. Dip you knees, then explosively push up with your legs as you press the weights straight over your shoulders. Lower the dumbbells back to the starting position and repeat.

STATION 5: SPLIT JUMPStand in a staggered stance with your feet about 2 to 3 feet apart, your left in front of your right. Keeping your torso upright, bend your legs and lower your body into a lunge. Now quickly switch directions and jump with enough force to propel both feet off the floor. While in the air, scissor-kick your legs so you land with the opposite leg forward. Repeat, alternating back and forth each repetition.

STATION 6: DUMBBELL ROWTip: Pull the weights to your sides.

Grab a pair of dumbbells, bend at your hips (don’t round your lower back) and lower your torso until it’s almost parallel to the floor. Let the dumbbells hang at arm’s length from your shoulders. Without moving your torso, row the dumbbells upward by raising your upper arms, bending your elbows and squeezing your shoulder blades together. Pause, then lower the dumbbells back to start.
