In JESUS' WORD of October 25, 1989 He designated a system of vote powerfor the Ministry leadership based on the number of Prayer Leaders of the time. Asthe Ministry leadership ranks grew things got diluted by added vote power inleadership ranks.

Nonetheless, His Word and instruction of 1989 need be kept in view and weworked to abide by it.

I made these observations of His 1989 Word and laid down His original schemefor the Ministry leadership:

This is the % scheme JESUS gave me in 1989, so with increased leadership roleswe worked with His percentages to arrive at the voting power of the PrayerLeaders shown on Page 5.

The votes assigned to the various Ministry Leaders (see Page 3) is based on JESUSWORD and His revealed percentages of 1989. There are a total of 86 votes amongPrayer Group Leaders (Lords' Generals, Colonels and Lt. Colonels) or 52% of atotal of 166 votes. There are 81 votes among Ministry Leaders (Apostle and the 4key Prophets) for a total of I66 votes.

We may also make a distinction between "common matters" and discernment issuesversus "not common matters" in who can vote.

Just what constitutes a "common" matter or a "not common matter" is somethingwe are working to discern as issues arise. In other words, it is an on-going workof discerning and understanding how to apply the Lord's Word.

Net of Prayer Organization

PRAYER UNITS: The foundation of the Net of Prayer consists of "Prayer Units",which are made of upwards of 7 to 10 intercessors and/or prayer warriors, headedby either a Prayer Major, Prayer Captain or a Prayer Lieutenant, The PrayerMajors, Prayer Captains or Prayer Lieutenants report to the Lord's General who inturn report to the Ministry Prophets who in turn report to the Ministry Apostle whoreports to JESUS CHRIST. This is the Ministry chain of command bottom to top,top to bottom.

PRAYER GROUP: A Prayer Group is made-up of a number of "Prayer Units."

THE N.O.P. RANKING SYSTEMRanks in the N.O.P. primarily have to do with the extent of the responsibility aprayer officer has 'In The Spirit in and during strategic spiritual warfare. Votingpower through JESUS' Word of 1989 appears to be another measure of theresponsibility/authority of that rank or position in the Ministry. Everyone is anIntercessor/Prayer Warrior, but where there are ranks they are: (top to bottom)

When the Lord directs the Net of Prayer to focus on a number of prayer objectivesthe breakdown of the Net of Prayer into Prayer Groups and Prayer Units enablesus to assign different prayer units or groups to different prayer objectives.

We have this highly structured chain of command to facilitate moving 'In TheSpirit' whenever we have to wage strategic spiritual warfare. Again, the militaryrank is by design to represent the level of not only authority but accountability andresponsibility before the Lord God of those who hold that rank. The rank is not atitle, rather it is a definition of function within the Body of Christ and in God'sArmy 'In The Spirit.'

CI'Ig^ it ! U -il1 li`T4 'MAN'S WILL REALM: If you are part of the church system of man orsubmitted to someone in authority in His Church, you are within a given realm. Inthat realm if you pray to KNOW God's Will, you will first discern and know thewill of those who make up that realm. Their doctrines, their views, their strongfeelings dominate that realm. It is a soulish realm I speak of, it is common but fewknow it exists.

JESUS gave His Church the power to bind or loose. Often, when men formChurches, they bind that body of believers to certain doctrinal positions or viewsby agreement and one accord. When they do, they create a realm within which theylive and breathe.

"If' they pray seeking God's Will in a matter that touches on their doctrinalposition, they will first receive a Word or Insight in and out of that doctrinal realm.

How can this be? When we use the term "God's Will" do we understand that thereare THREE basic types of God's Will? These are

1. GOD'S SOVEREIGN WILL -- no man can resist this.2. GOD'S PERFECT WILL -- men have to seek this.3. GOD'S PERMISSIVE WILL -- man's will over God's Perfect Will.

When we pray to know God's Will for us, we are asking to know what His PerfectWill is. However, it takes a real clear desire to truly know God's Perfect Will inorder to come to know what His Perfect Will for you really is. Often, and toofrequently, what we receive is what we want to receive, and this is God'sPermissive Will -- He permits us what we desire, what we bind, what we prefer --but that is not necessarily (often not) His Perfect Will for us.

EXAMPLE: We really don't get it for the most part. Years ago, I would at timesask the Lord if it was alright for me to do a certain thing and JESUS would say,"YOU MAY." Then one day when I prayed and asked JESUS again on the samematter and when He said (as He had many times before) "YOU MAY", I thoughtabout it and pondered His reply. By this time I'd come to learn the three types ofGod's Will (listed at the top of this page) and so I asked, "Lord JESUS, is this YourPerfect Will for me?" JESUS said, "NO." That told me that this had been in His"permissive will" all along. I asked JESUS, "Why didn't you tell me that this wasnot your Perfect Will for me?" JESUS replied, "YOU DIDN'T ASK!" His replyboth stunned me and brought me to ponder this whole situation very carefully inand out of prayer for some time.

DEFINEDGOD'S WILL (Continued)

What JESUS was revealing to me was that we have to have a genuine desire toKNOW what God's Perfect Will is for us apart from our desires, wants anddoctrines. If we don't, we will simply hear what we want to hear, desire to hear orhave the doctrinal position to hear -- and none of this is necessarily God's PerfectWill for us; rather it is more likely to be God's Permissive Will for us (not good).

BACK to "MAN'S WILL REALM" Again, when we pray we often pray withina given realm where we have bound ourselves to given doctrines or where we havestrong views or desires in common. Within that realm we will FIRST discern or beaware of what we refer to as "God's Will", but that is really the PERMISIVE Willof God springing from the self-will of men who make up the realm we operate inor from the realm of our own self-will.

It takes a concerted effort of focus and prayer to break through and move beyondthat realm to KNOW what is the Perfect Will of God. It has to do withOVERCOMING the self-will realm of man that we all (to one extent or another)live and operate within. If we are ignorant of the existence of the self-will realmof man, we can easily be deluded and deceived by what makes up that realm,thinking this to be GOD'S WILL.

IT IS BOTH CORPORATE AND INDIVIDUAL: When I speak of "man's willrealm" at this point this addresses the corporate will of man made up of many menand women who are in general agreement as to what they bind or loose within theirrealm.

Then there is also the "individual man's will realm." It is the same as the corporatebut limited to the soul desires and views of a given individual. In this area wheresomeone decides to break away from a given body of believers, there is thetendancy (again out of ignorance and lack of understanding) to listen to one's ownsoul and take that input as being the Spirit of God.

This is a common problem among Christians who decide to break away fromcorporate dogmas and end up operating within the realm of an individual dogma.

The problem is the same, one is still being led by "man's spirit" and listening to"man's spirit" taking that as being God.

Aware of this, we in the Net of Prayer do pray to get beyond the Will of man andto know the Will of God to know what is His Perfect Will for us.

GO'S COMMISSION To This MINISTRYI decided to lead off with a copy of the front page of our June 10, 1998 Newsletterin which we presented a summary of God's Commission's to this Ministry. Thispart of the N.U.P. Introduction is drawn from that Newsletter. (Quote)

"This. ..brought me to realize that it would be beneficial to review some of theprimary functions of this Ministry, those designated by God's Commission to us.

Many years ago FATHER GOD and JESUS CHRIST gave me Commissions tofulfill as His prophet. In these Commissions many brethren have joined with meto undertake this work of God, and this Ministry is the result of that union inGOD'S Commissions and Purposes.

In the early years of this Ministry work in Christ (1976) I came to preferTEACHING over His PROPHETIC call in my life. I got in trouble with God atthat time for holding this preference of teaching ahead of the prophetic work Hesent me to do. The Lord revealed that I was to make as my priority this propheticwork. JESUS required that I resign the teaching posts I had taken in 1976, and Hesent in TEACHERS to replace me. Since that time I have devoted the central partof my energy, time and focus to the Prophetic work He Commissioned me to do.

In the Body of Christ there are Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors andTeachers placed there by God for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of theministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ until we all come into the unity ofthe faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto themeasure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. (Ephesians 4: 11-13).

In 1989 JESUS Commissioned me to be His APOSTLE, thus today I'm anApostle/Prophet of JESUS CHRIST.

Here are some of the primary Commissions the Lord God has given me and so allof us who are joined in this Ministry work in Christ:

SPRING 1970 - GOD THE FATHER: "...INTO THY HAND IS GIVENTHE STAFF OF LIFE." Here the Lord God defined the work He called us towas to extend His Life to all men, and in this we would have authority to spare thelives of many."

SEPTEMBER 19 1975 - JESUS' WORD: "I'VE NOT SET THEE ASA WATCHMAN OVER THEM, BUT TO WITNESS TO THEM *, TO SPEAKAS I GIVE THEE UTTERANCE; TO GIVE AS I SET YOU TO WRITE.YEA, OVER THIS LAND MAKETH I THEE TD BE AS A WATCHMAN,AND SO WILL I BRING TO FRUIT BY MY SPIRIT."

*Note -- In 1975 1 came to believe that Jesus sent me to be a watchman overTrinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines, Illinois (THEM) -- He corrected my viewin this Word and revealed part of His Commission to me/us.

1976-19771WARN, CALL TO REPENT & PRAY: In 1976-1977 JESUSrevealed that He sent me to warn His Church and this nation of coming judgment,and that He wanted me to call His Church to repent and pray for mercy. It wasmade plain that the Lord God wanted to see these terrible judgments cancelled andHis children spared. However, it was made equally clear that there was a real needfor repentance and prayer to overturn this judgment, without which it would comein full fury.

APRIL 14. 1976 WORD: In the early part of 1976 JESUS told me that He .,,00sent me into this world with "FINAL WARNINGS" of coming judgments. Afteran extended period of visions and revelations of coming destructions, I asked Jesuswhy He was shewing me these things, to which He replied, "THAT MYCHILDREN SHOULD PREPARE THEIR HEARTS FOR THESE THINGSAND BELIEVE ON ME, FOR I AM ABLE TO SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEEDSIN EVERY ADVERSITY. THAT YOU WALK IN FAITH AND NOT FEAR.THAT YOU STAND UPON MY PROMISES AND SEE THEM. THAT YOUABIDE IN MY LOVE AND KNOW THAT I AM THE LORD THY GOD."

1976 - GAP: In this year JESUS told me a number of times that He had mademe to, "STAND IN THE GAP FOR THIS NATION." In this I/we were calledto stand between the sinner and the consequence of their sins to the ends that Hispeople be spared certain death and terrible loss.

AUGUST 4. 1977 JESUS' WORD: "PREPARE MY PEOPLE FORWAR, FAMINE, PESTILENCE, OCCUPATION. PREPARE MY CHILDRENFOR WAR, FAMINE, PESTILENCE, OCCUPATION. PREPARE MYSHEEP FOR WAR, FAMINE, PESTILENCE, OCCUPATION."

AUGUST 1979 -- TIMING COMMISSION: In this year JESUSCommissioned me to work to understand the timing of judgment. In the years sincewe came to understand that the timing of judgment was in fact determined by whatHis people, His Church, decided to bind and/or loose, and in how they responded(or failed to respond) to JESUS' WORD.

SEPTEMBER 23, 1979 GOD THE FATHER'S WORD in SPOKANE,WASHINGTON: "YOU ARE LIKE AN ELISHA ONLY GREATER, LIKEA MOSES, GREATER IN PART, LESSER IN PART. I HAVE SENT YOUTO LAY FOUNDATION STONES FOR MY SON'S RETURN."

AUGUST 7, 1980 JESUS' WORD: "DO NOT SEEK TO WITHSTANDTHE JUDGMENT. MEN OF SOME AUTHORITY WORKED TO REMOVEYOU FROM THE SCENE -- SO NOW, STAND ASIDE UNTIL BLOODRUNS ANKLE DEEP. THEY WILL SUFFER MUCH ON THIS ACCOUNT.IN AWHILE WE WILL CALL YOU TO STAND IN THE GAP, AND ARESPITE WILL BE GRANTED THEM."

THE SEAL OF THE LIVING GOD (Ezekiel 9: 1-6, Revelation 7: 1-3)1982-1989: In 1982 JESUS sent me out to extend, initiate and establish HisSealing across North America. That work was established (doubled and set) in1989.

STRATEGIC SPIRITUAL WARFARE 'In The Spirit' 1976-1998+:When the first NET OF PRAYER assembled we had a vision in which we saw andheard Angels of God blowing trumpets and understood it to be ,"A CALL TOARMS", where God was calling His people to take on His armor (Ephesians 6: 10-18) and move 'In The Spirit' to do warfare with the enemy of our souls. In 1982Father God Commissioned us to "SET THE CAPTIVES FREE" of bondage toSatan and hell's power.

A REPRESENTATIVE WORK 1983: In 1983 the Lord revealed that we hadHis Commission whereby those we worked with under His anointing and directionwould be representative of His Body, His Elect Body.

COVERING 26 MILLION BRETHREN - WORD of 1954: In late 1984faced with financial troubles (Ministry support had declined) I began praying andconsidering seeking a secular job to help pay the bills. On November 28, 1984JESUS required that henceforth I work for Him alone and then He said, "....INSEEKING A JOB YOU WOULD STAND ASIDE...AND YOU WILL SEE ITBEGIN THAT LEADS TO 26 MILLION DEAD IN SUDDENESS ANDNOTHING CAN SPARE. IT IS YOUR TIME TO DECIDE...AS YOUDECIDE TO SEEK A JOB, SATAN WILL ENTER IN ALL POWER TO DOALL HIS WILL IN EARTH...A PROOF IS ASKED, SO A PROOF GIVEN..,"

After JESUS told me this I decided against seeking a job.

In 1985 following a decision by the Church whereby 70% decided to bindjudgment and 30% decided to loose judgment, we were required to prophesy in thatdecision in November of 1985, knowing that as we stood-in that 65,000 liveswould be spared, but as we stood-aside that 25,000 would perish. In a suddenvolcanic explosion on November 13, 1985 25,000 people perished (Armento,Columbia, South America) in a manner identical to the "Proof' JESUS presentedin His November 28, 1984 Word. —

OCTOBER 25, 1989 JESUS WORD: On October 29, 1989 after manyyears of strategic spiritual warfare and intercession undertaken by this Ministry,JESUS carefully defined His Commission to me/us when He said, "FIRST, IWOULD HAVE YOU RECEIVE, ACCEPT INTO YOURSELF THAT IHAVE MADE YOU TO LEAD MY PEOPLE TO SAFETY, TO CARE FORTHEM AS I DO, TO BE PATIENT WITH THEM AS I AM, TO LOVETHEM AS I LOVE THEM, TO COVER AND SHIELD THEM AGAINSTTHE TIDES OF JUDGMENT NOW IN THIS LAND. IN THIS I HAVEMADE YOU TO REPRESENT ME TO THEM, AND TO REVEAL THEVERY HEART OF THE FATHER GOD AS I DII), TO WITHSTAND THEENEMY OF THY SOUL FOR THEIR SAKE. THIS IS WHAT I WOULDHAVE YOU RECEIVE FIRSTMGST, AND TO MAKE THIS THE FOCUSYOU HAVE FROM NOW ON."

HISTORY OF THE VET OF PRAYER

The NET OF PRAYER is quite diverse in its make-up, function, over-all operationsand while it is quite unorthodox in some ways it is also very orthodox in otherrespects. The best way to introduce you to the Net of Prayer is to tell of its history,its beginnings and what we have learned as we have followed after JESUS in andout of prayer and prayer warfare.

The STAFF AND SWORD MINISTRY emerged out of the work of prayer/prayerwarfare undertaken by the intercessors and prayer warriors of the NET OFPRAYER. The whole Prophetic work accomplished to this date began in a time ofprayer-intercession undertaken by the Net of Prayer starting in 1976.

It began with me - Chuck-JOHNELIn the Spring of 1970 on a beautiful Saturday morning I was reflecting on God'sgoodness and how happy He made me. I pondered the inner knowing that I washere in this world to be His servant, to do His Will, but I was also aware of thefact that I had the discipline of a soldier, a warrior and could be relentless andruthless in pursuing an objective. I wept within myself with this awareness andasked Father GOD, "How shall I become your child while holding a sword in myhand?" A voice spoke in a brilliant light, "I HAVE TAKEN AWAY THESWORD AND INTO THY HAND IS GIVEN THE STAFF OF LIFE." Thisdeeply touched me and though I did not consciously fully understand its meaning,inwardly a part of me knew in a way I could not define or grasp.

The meaning? In John I0: 10 JESUS said. "The thief cometh not, but for tosteal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life,and that they might have it more abundantly." Being in Christ we are to dowhat Jesus did (see John 14: 12), thus we are made His Ambassadors in this worldto extend abundant life to all men and in that to withstand the thief, murderer anddestroyer of His people. This revelation of 1970 was the first insight into theCommission the Lord God had given me and so also all His people. But in 1970all this was not so evident nor did I comprehend much beyond the literal-obviousmeaning of His Word to me.

HISTORY OF THE NET OF PRAYER (Continued)It began with me - Chuck -JOHNEL (cont'd.)When God's Call came on my life I did not initially understand that His workwould lead me into forming and leading a Ministry. In fact, I thought of what Heasked me to do as being a "temporary assignment", something I would work ataccomplishing and on completion I'd return to a normal lifestyle.

The idea of forming a Ministry was the last thing I thought about, nor did I haveany desire to have a Ministry -- in fact. I was not interested in such a thing at all.That I find myself sitting here writing this Introduction to the Net of Prayer some30 years later has everything to do with His Will and nothing of mine, though Idid/do desire to do His Will. In all this time and to the present moment, I have notcome to think that this Ministry is "mine", it is not a personal possession nor willit ever be that to me. This Ministry is JESUS CHRIST and He made me to take aleading position among a gathering of brethren who share the common goal ofdoing His Will and following after JESUS CHRIST.

The relationship between me and every other member of the this Ministry is therelationship of a Heavenly Family, we are Christ's and we delight to do His Will.Love of JESUS CHRIST, Love of one another and love for those He has us prayfor is the heart of this Ministry work in Christ.

The Ministry is Christ Jesus!To ensure that you understand without doubt, this Ministry (The Net of Prayer andThe Staff and Sword Ministry) belong wholly to JESUS CHRIST. These are Hisworks not ours and we seek to be pleasing to Him and not our own ideas, desiresor wants.

In 1981 JESUS asked me to resign the Ministry and I did. Someone asked me howI could do that saying, "You are this Ministry, it is your life, how can you resign?"I replied, "It belongs to JESUS not me, if He wants me to resign, Iresign. It is a simple matter of recognizing who the 'owner operatoris' and He is JESUS CHRIST not Chuck-JOHNEL." While JESUScalled me back to the Ministry before the year ended, nonetheless I recognized thenand now that this is HIS Ministry and HIS work and that I (we) have theopportunity and privilege to be part of what He is doing -- but that we partake doesnot mean we "own" -- only HE owns this Ministry.

So in this Ministry we are all joint heirs in Christ, He is our head, we are His

people, His body, and our central purpose/objective is to seek, know and do HisWill on earth.

The NET OF PRAYER started at Trinity LutheranChurch in Des Plaines, Illinois

"THE ONE CONCERN OF THE DEVIL IS TO KEEP CHRISTIANS FROMPRAYING. HE FEARS NOTHING FROM PRAYER.LF_SS STUDIES, PRA{ERLESSWORK, PIAYERLESS RELIGION. HE LAUGHS AT OUR TOIL, MOCKS AT OURWISDOM, BUT TREMBLES WHEN WE PRAM." (quote from SamuelChadwick.]

The Lord would make it clear to me that Trinity Lutheran Church in Des Plaines,Illinois (a suburb north of Chicago, Illinois) was of itself a microcosm of thechurch in America. What we would run into here was everywhere with little or noexception.

This revelation of God was clear, and over the years of travelling up and down thisnation, from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico, Ifound this to be the case over and over from church to church -- what weencountered at Trinity Lutheran Church was the same almost everywhere.

Trinity Lutheran Church consisted of a congregation of 2600 members, and had twoministers, Pastor Mark Bergman and assistant Pastor Phillip Gronbach.

1973: In early 1973 the Holy Spirit led me to attend and then become a memberof Trinity Lutheran Church. In April of 1973 1 was confirmed by the congregationand accepted into Trinity Lutheran Church.

During a Sunday service in August of 1973, I did see JESUS in a vision appearingover the large cross above the altar. JESUS motioned to inc and said, "COMEFOLLOW ME." In a time the Lord gave to understand that this was His call tothe church and not me alone - this was His Word to His people.

1974: In October of 1974, the Holy Spirit strongly moved me to share thevisions and experiences I had had in Christ with both Reverend Mark Bergman andassistant Pastor Phillip Gronbach. I was reluctant to share this, concerned thatthey'd think I was mentally unbalanced (learned later that they did think that); butyielding to the urgings of the Holy Spirit and so met with them and told themabout my walk with the Lord and some of what He had shown me over the years.

1975: GOD'S COMMISSION On January 30, 1975 the HOLY SPIRIT ledme to draw up a list of God's priorities for Trinity Lutheran Church (i.e. the Church



1975: GOD'S COMMISSION (Continued) in America), the priorities were: __

"To pray for the specials needs of the congregation; to pray forrevival of the church; and to pray for the healingof the nation, thestate and the city; and to pray for laborers in the Lord's harvest.

Further, a vigil of prayer was to be established for the evangelicaloutreach of the church and for each and every member, active andnot active.

Lastly, we were to pray three hours each day, seven days a week,for three months." (Holy Spirit direction January 30, 1975.)

On February 13, 1975 the Lord JESUS led me to write down the way I was topray for Trinity Lutheran Church. This is what He led me to write and pray:

"Revive them Lord...set their hearts afire with love of you, Lord. Weneed to know you, FATHER; we need to know you Lord JESUSCHRIST...we need to know you HOLY SPIRIT.

...Lord JESUS our hearts are like wood, our ears stone, our eyesare covered over...Renew us, give us rebirth and birth anew in you,Lord JESUS...give us hearts of flesh to love you with, ears to hearyour spoken word and eyes to see you with..."

The name for The NET of PRAYER

In March of 1975 the Lord JESUS led me to several scriptures and had me writea letter to both pastors Mark and Phil, which said in part:

"How might one describe the idea of a prayer for revival ? The Lord has shown meit's like weaving a net of prayer, each one praying becomes a strand in the net,When put together in Love, Faith and Hope and used in Boldness -- the catch willbe great.

The Lord JESUS had given me John 21: 5-6 which read: "JESUS SAITH...CASTTHE NET ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SHIP AND YE SHALL FIND..."

As a consequence of this revelation, we would name the prayer work (when it r pbegan) The NET OF PRAYER.



1975: (Continued)

Then on March 28, 1975, while praying, the Lord JESUS appeared to me andspoke directly, telling me to write what He said down and send it to ReverendMark and Phil of Trinity Lutheran Church. This is what JESUS had me write:

' OH MY SONS, AM I NOT IN THIS CALL TO PRAYER? THIS, MYFRIEND, I SEND TO YOU WITH LOVE, BLESSINGS, AND HOPE OFGREATER FAITH. A GREAT JOY WOULD BE YOURS IF YOU PREPAREIT IN BOLDNESS AND FAITH AND DILIGENTLY SEEK THE GIFTSFROM MY FATHER. BEHOLD, SEEK THIS IN PRAYER -- LET YOURHEART BE MOVED -- KNOW ME AND THE PROMISE FOR YOU. THISTREASURE FROM HEAVEN IS YOURS IF YOU BUT COME TO ME INPRAYER." (Thus said the Lord JESUS to Pastors Mark and Phil March 28, 1975.)

I wrote this down as JESUS asked and mailed this to the pastors. There was noresponse. -

GETTING IN THE PASTORS FACE: While I was hardly offensive or pushy,I was persistent is seeking permission from the pastor to call the congregation ofTrinity Lutheran Church to prayer.

When attending the required classes (conducted by Pastor Mark Bergman) in orderto become a Lutheran, I was taught by the Pastor that in the Lutheran Church thatevery Lutheran is a minister of Jesus Christ and that his job (the Pastor) is to helpyou accomplish your ministry.

So when I asked the pastor for permission (on July 2, 1975) to go before thecongregation during Sunday services with God's call to pray, I quoted this LutheranDoctrine which he taught me. Pastor Bergman quickly stated he could not allowthis as this would cause a division and trouble in the church, nor would he allowme to go into the church to pray for the same reason.

From that time on every Sunday service I sat in the front pew directl y opposite thelectern so I was the first one the pastor saw when he began his sermon. The pastorsaid "no", but I wasn't backing off, Thus began the effort to call the church to pray.

VISIONS at TRINITY: One might think that I fully understood what was goingon, but I didn't. Even though JESUS told me that there was a "need" for prayer inthe church, it did not really register with me nor was it easy to see. What I sawwith my eyes did not match what He told me -- thus it was difficult for me to



1975: VISIONS at TRINITY: (Continued)grasp the situation at first. After a Sunday Church service I mingled with membersof the congregation at fellowship time. Everyone was well dressed and kindly in

manner. It was difficult to see the need for prayer by the "appearance" of things.

At the Sunday service of May 11, 1975, the HOLY SPIRIT pointed out to me ayoung man, Kevin (who was guest guitar player), and directed me to telephonehim. I phoned Kevin on May 12, 1975 sharing that the HOLY SPIRIT told me tocall him, and shared some of the revelations I had from the Lord JESUS.

At first Kevin was cautious because when he checked with Reverend Bergman , thepastor told him " We are trying to get Chuck to see a Christian psychiatrist, but he'sharmless."

Truth was that the Pastor never tried at any time to get me to see a shrink, nor didhe even 'hint' at that in our personal talks. This statement was made to express hisdisapproval of me (thus disapproval of God's Word) by doing something adversialbrethren do commonly when they can't attack the 'message" (a call to prayer) --they attack the messenger. It's called, "character assassination."

However, Kevin decided to come by and meet with me, and after we prayedtogether, we quickly became friends. At the end of May, 1975 Kevin made mentionof the fact the the people at Trinity Lutheran Church (speaking again of the Churchin America) were not all alive to God .

Shortly after this I found myself witnessing a vision I've never forgotten.

At the 11 A.M. Sunday service of June 1, 1975, during the sermon at TrinityLutheran Church, suddenly I was drawn 'In The Spirit' and saw a vision.

VISION OF THE FIERY DISK: By the SPIRIT OF GOD I saw 73% of theactive congregation of this church taken up and out of the church right before myeyes. They aII landed and ended up in a dark place on a very broad road, mixed inwith masses of other people who were all hurrying along the road. All had theireyes covered and their ears plugged up. Neither seeing nor hearing, they allmurmured unhappily, ill in spirit, lost, angry, depressed, miserable and complainingconstantly. The road wound downwards into darkness towards what looked at likea patch or disk of red light. As I focused in on this dark scene before me, I madeout demons that lined both sides of the highway who urged them to move on fasterand faster. Driven by these foul creatures they moved faster. Now I saw this fiery

VISION OF BATTLE: This vision (above) ended abruptly and I found myselfstanding 'In The Spirit' at ground level in the church itself. I saw a legion of fallenangels. They were brown and black with bat-like wings, covered in filth andcarrying brownish shields with emblems of filth, armed with swords, clubs, hooksand chains. They were sinister looking; their eyes glowed with hatred for man.

A very, very few Christians in the shining armor of God battled them. I could hear'In The Spirit' the words, "Onward Christian soldiers." The vision ended.

I now understood why the Lord JESUS wanted prayer at Trinity. 73% of the activecongregation were unsaved and were relying on good works (their righteousness),not JESUS (His Righteouness), for their salvation. A spiritual battle was takingplace --and a few old prayer warriors were still in the church and were holdingSatan off. Years later I was astounded to hear some evangelical ministers say thatto have even 27% of a congregation that was saved was being far above the norm.It horrified me then and it horrifies me now.

THE RIGHT SPIRIT: I visited off and on the Reverend Mark, sent him lettersand generally was building my case (humanly speaking) to get his support for theestablishment of a net of prayer at Trinity Lutheran Church. In the meantime,

JESUS told me to be patient and to temper my every word in His Love to thepastors and congregation of Trinity. Over and over, the Lord encouraged me to lovethem and to be patient with them. As I faced continued and growing rejection, thiswas not easy nor was it my natural inclination to be this way.

OVERCOMING PRAYER: From the time JESUS had me call this Church topray (January 30, 1975) 1 began to pray daily asking God's help to overcome andestablish this work of prayer according to His Will. When Pastor Bergman rejectedmy request to address the church calling them to pray, I began praying toovercome.

Without fully grasping the fact that I'd entered into a spiritual battle with the forcesof darkness that worked to destroy the souls of those people in the church, the Lordworked steadily to make it plain to me that He had presented me with a major workand not some "minor task."

When JESUS led me to first call Trinity Lutheran Church to pray I thought itwould be a simple and easy task. I'd just give God's people His Word, they'd pray



1975: OVERCOMING PRAYER: (Continued)the three months, it would be done and I could go onto the next assignment fromthe Lord.

I had no idea that there was such massive resistance in the church to prayer untilI tried to call God's people to pray. Just giving JESUS' Word where He called forprayer made many angry (at me), they took it as an accusation that they didn't prayor that I was judging them for not praying correctly.

JUNE 16, 1975 PRAYER MEETING: I had long since sought and asked forprayer support from the prayer group (named "Solomon's Porch") I attended in anearby suburb. On June 16, 1975 1 held a prayer meeting in my home (in DesPlaines, Illinois) which was attended by a number of brethren from Solomon'sPorch Prayer Group. John, one brother in the Lord, saw an angel of the Lord enterthe room during prayer and hand me a huge sword. John reported this to me, andalthough I had not seen this myself I didn't question that it happened. However,neither John or I exactly knew what it meant.

On June 25, 1975 at the regular Solomon's Porch prayer meeting, John now sawin a vision demons coming against me until a ring of fire burst all around me,driving them off. John again saw me with the same sword in my hand as given tome by the angel on June 16th. But before John shared what he saw with me, I sawmyself 'In The Spirit' involved in a spiritual battle wielding this big sword thatshone like it was a living light. In this battle I found myself confronted by a demonthat looked like the trunk of a tree, a big blob-like demonic mass of hateful filth.As I swung the sword into it, this thing grabbed the sword and holding it tried todraw me into its grip. In the next instant the sword burst into fire, consuming thedemon, and 'In The Spirit' I heard the words "unquenchable fire."

So when John told me what he saw that evening it fit what I'd experienced 'In TheSpirit.' But I still did not grasp what the Lord was showing me past what was literaland obvious. I'd been involved in spiritual warfare 'In The Spirit' on and off overthe years, but this was something deeper and more serious as others were nowseeing like visions.

JUNE 26, 1975 DOOR VISION: That prayer meeting of June 25th wore on intothe early morning hours. As I was driving home in the early morning hours of June26, 1975 I had a clear leading to drive to Trinity Lutheran Church and to pray atthe doors. I went home instead since it was so late and I had to rise early for workthe next day. '`^



1975: JUNE 2 6, 1975 DOOR VISION: (Continued) The morning of June 26,1975 as I woke up, I had this vision:

"After much battling I found myself standing before Trinity Lutheran Church andagainst or facing a heavy pair of doors.* They were bolted with thick black steelthat was covered with chains and a bar of iron. A veil of darkness lay upon it andthis seemed to be an impassable barrier. I stood there girded in the brilliant armorof God, knowing that even unto the smallest thing I had, all was from Clod. I feltand was aware in my limbs and coursing all through me the power and might,wisdom and knowledge of God. The mighty sword** in my right hand gleamedwith a blazing brightness that cut through the veil of darkness and instantlydispelled it.

*Note - Normally the entrance to Trinity Lutheran Church was a pair of doors that openedoutwardly. This door was nothing like that, rather, it resembled an old castle type of door.

**Note - The very wide blade of this sword was at least 7 foot long and it was quiteheavy.

FIRST SWING: I gave no thought to knocking on these doors, but knew that thebarrier was Satan's. Wielding the great sword, I swung at the door with all mymight. Though I swung hard the sword moved as if in slow motion. Finally theblade of the great sword made contact with the door cutting through the chain andchipping hunks of dark, rock-like wood from the heavy doors.

SECOND SWING: I recognized that I had swung the first time in my own strength(remembering Zechariah 4: 6) and drew back for a second swing. This time I calledout the Name of JESUS CHRIST. In Christ and by His Blood I swung with ease.That second blow fell swiftly, cutting through the heavy iron bar while a bolt ofheavenly lightning struck the gates in the same instant. The earth rumbled andquaked; the entire church was rocked. The gates were heavily damaged, knockedoff their hinges, shattered, but somehow still standing. I knew then that somethingbehind the gates was holding them up.

THIRD SWING: As I drew back for the third swing at these doors I heard a fierceroaring and saw to my left (side vision) a huge dragon charging out of the churchfrom around the corner. I knew to keep my focus on JESUS and against the doors.Thus I ignored the dragon and kept my gaze on the gates. The dragon came inbehind me and suddenly a ring of fire burst out around me and a stunningbrightness poured out from all around me. The dragon fled and was gone.

Claiming the victory in the Name of JESUS CHRIST I swung the sword with the

might of the Lord. The very instant the blade struck the gates, lightning bolts fromheaven and the tremendous impact of a searing white lightning consumed the gatesand they were gone. The normal doors of the church appeared and were openedinward (strange in that the real door open outwardly),

As I walked in, my attitude and mind set went from a fierce determination to asublime peace and joy. My clothing went from armor to soft, flowing, whitegarments. As I walked into the church down the center aisle, I noticed the swordin my hand and took it and shaped it into a plow, a pruning hook and otherinstruments of harvesting. I heard the voice of God say, "YE SHALL PLOW,PLANT AND REAP ALL AT ONE TIME -- THIS WORK I DO." At this pointthe vision ended.

On July 1, 1975 the Lord instructed me to meet with Reverend Mark Bergman atTrinity Lutheran Church. I brought along two brothers in the Lord*, John and Bill.We visited privately with Reverend Mark on July 2, 1975 and shared many thingsof the Lord with him.

..r*Note - I brought along these two brothers in the Lord, who were Spirit-filled and hada living relationship with Jesus, to testify that our relationship with Jesus was not all thatunusual.

Reverend Mark Bergman revealed at this time that he had talked with other pastorsabout me and that they recommended he proceed with caution as I might have anemotional disturbance. I found that of interest as I'd repeatedly asked both PastorsMark and Phil to pray and seek God as to the truth of what He had me ask them.It became apparent to me that the last thing they thought of doing was to pray toknow if it was God's Word I was bringing.

When we spoke about the sick being healed by prayer Reverend Mark mentionedabout a Lutheran pastor who prayed for the sick who were healed and all theproblems it caused him.

We shared the June 26, 1975 vision of the "Gates and three blows with a sword",which the Lord had given me. It was evident that this vision displeased PastorMark and he took notable exception to the Word of God whereby He said, "YESHALL PLOW, PLANT AND REAP ALL AT ONE TIME -- THIS WORKI DO." Pastor Mark reacted strongly and with hostility to God's Word saying, "Oh •.rno you won't!"



1975: JULY 2, 1975 MEETING WITH PASTOR BERGMAN: (Continued)At this time I asked if "he" could announce the call to prayer to the congregationand he said that he could not announce a prayer effort to the congregation as itcould cause a major division and disruption in the church.

Pastor Mark asked why we set only three hours to pray each day. I did not knowwhy except that the HOLY SPIRIT set that time of prayer as a minimum. OnOctober 17, 1975, the HOLY SPIRIT led one to read Matthew 27: 45-46:

"Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninthhour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying 'E'li E'liLa-ma Sa bach - tha -ni?" That is to say, "My God, My God, why hast thouforsaken me?"

From the 6th hour to 9th hour -- here were the three hours.

After this meeting I realized that the pastors of Trinity would not help. I had beenfaithful to submit all this to them, to be persistent but not offensive, to be courteousand faithful to pursue a]l God asked of me. The notion advanced by the chief pastor(Mark Bergman) that prayer would cause "major division and disruptions in thechurch" was ludicrous.

Thereafter I worked with the Directory given to every member of this church, adirectory of the names and addresses of all who made up the congregation. I nowbegan to approach individual members and present Jesus' Word and call to prayaiming now to bypass the pastors and go directly to the congregation. Most all ofthese were not nearly as cordial as the pastors and so I proceeded from rebuff torejection. Being set on this course by the Lord (even though I would have preferrednot to be) I dug my heels in and began trying harder and harder to get through tothese people, a congregation that numbered 2600 souls.

INSIGHT and REVELATION: Then on July 28, 1975 while having a prayermeeting at my home for Trinity, a brother in the Lord told me that the Lordshowed him that I was striving with God and to back-off and wait, that the Lordwould prepare the way for me at Trinity Lutheran Church. A few days later aprophecy came at the regular Solomon's Porch prayer meeting that Reverend MarkBergman would offer me a post in the church. Under the circumstances that seemedabout impossible even for God. I determined to obey the Lord and to 'back-off, butinwardly I had had it with Trinity and wanted to be far, far away from there andnever to return.

Pastor Phil's response frankly caught me by surprise. I came to sit-in and observeand noted their "prayerlessness"; then I made a cynical comment and ended upwith an assignment. Returning home, I wondered just "how" I was going to contactthese other Pastors and didn't have the hope of an idea -- I was like a deer caughtin a headlight. In the next instant I realized that I was making the same mistake,I was NOT praying and seeking God's Help. So I prayed and the HOLY SPIRITgave me a simple approach. I was to write each Pastor in Des Plaines a letterexplaining about our (Trinity's) plan to resettle some Vietnamese refugees and thatwe were seeking help to accomplish this. Next I would indicate in my letter thatI was going to telephone them in a few days to see if they had any ideas orcomments or if they wanted to join us in this undertaking.

A few days later I began telephoning the Pastors in Des Plaines, Illinois (a suburbnorth of Chicago). The first I reached was the Pastor of another Episcopal Churchwho wanted to give me the name of one of his parishioners. I thought,- "We have2,600 people, why is he giving inc the name of one person?" Then the Ministerexplained that this woman had come to him offering to help resettle theVietnamese. More, she had recently purchased a townhouse as her home was toobig for her, and that she was offering this home rent free for a year to help resettleVietnamese. I was stunned -- in just the first call the "biggest problem" -- housing,was taken care of. In the other calls I received offers of food, clothing, furniture,pots and pans and more from yet other Churches.

When I attended the next meeting of the Social Ministry Committee I sat silentlywhile they started (without prayer) and listened calmly to the usual reports of 'woeand want from the Committee members. Then, Pastor Phil turned to me and said,"Chuck, what did you find?" I reminded them of the importance of prayer and howafter I prayed the Holy Spirit led me in how to contact the pastors. I then listed thecommittments obtained: a house with no rent for a year, clothing, furniture, potsand pans, food and even people who offered to drive them around (to and fromfood stores, work, school, etc.) and those who could teach them English. By theSPIRIT OF GOD I literally had everything needed to sponsor the three men. By theexpressions on the faces of the members of the committee I could easily tell theywere stunned and then excited, as we could now move ahead and do this work.

On the Social Ministry Committee were men who were very wealthy, whosesupport was key to the operation of this Church -- something I didn't know untillong after all this developed. These influential men apparently contacted PastorMark and moved him to do something he had no desire to do.



1975: RESETTLING VIETNAMESE REFUGEES:: (Continued)

OFFERED A POST IN THE CHURCH: On October 25, 1975, some weeksafter this happened, Pastor Mark telephoned me and offered me a post on theSocial Ministry Committee of Trinity Lutheran Church. It was apparent by his toneof voice that he did NOT want to offer me this post, but I immediately acceptedto his dismay. My wife was as amazed as I was and said, "That wasn't his idea!"

"No ", I thought, "It was the Lord of Hosts and it was His doing not man's. "

In December of 1975 the Lord directed me to return to Trinity Lutheran Church,He easily replaced me at St. Anselms and Our Lady of Hope Churches and had memove back into the fray in calling for prayer at Trinity.

On January 21, 1976 JESUS spoke to me saying:

'THE ENEMY WILL COME AGAINST YOU HARDER AND HARDER. I SAY NOT TOMORROWBUT NOW; FOR WHAT 15 BEGUN WILL NOT LESSEN. WILL YOU STAND? WILL YOU BESCATTERED?* IN ME, STAND!

I WILL NOT ABANDON YOU, BUT I AM WITH YOU. IF YOU STAND IN ME, YOU WILLSTAND. GO IN FAITH IN ME AND WONDERS AND MIRACLES WILL FOLLOW THEE -••MIGHTIER THAN ANY OF THE ENEMY. THE ENEMY, SATAN, WILL ATTACK AND PERSECUTE

YOU. BUT I AM WITH YOU THROUGH ALL

THE WRATH OF GOD TO COME WILL BE MOST TERRIBLE FOR THOSE WHO REJECT GOD'S

GRACE."

*Note - It is apparent that JESUS is not speaking to me alone (as "scatter" implies many) butHe is speaking to the future Net of Prayer that emerged from this work.

PRAYER REVELATION: In this time period I had Pastor Phillip over one nightfor dinner at my home. From the beginning I had asked him to pray and seek God'sface to confirm His Word to me about calling Trinity to pray. During dinner I againsaid, "Just pray and ask the Lord to confirm what He asked of me and Trinity. "Pastor Phil replied candidly, "Chuck, you keep asking me to pray, but I do NOT

know how to pray. In all the years of Seminary, the subject of prayer- came up only

in an half hour class." While I appreciated Phil's honesty I was again stunned andreflected wondering how any child of God can become a pastor without havingsome kind of life of prayer, without having a living relationship with JESUSCHRIST. As Trinity was a microcosom of the Church in America, this revelationtold me that the Church in America was in real trouble -- most (if not at least half)of the Pastors did not know how to pray, did not pray, did not know the LordJESUS intimately and personally -- thus were led by man's spirit, not God's.



SOCIAL MINISTRY COMMITTEE: According to Church tradition, PastorBergman was obliged to introduce me before the assembled congregation on thenext Sunday service as a new member of Trinity's Social Ministry Committee.Needless to say, this gave inc a level of visibility in the Church which proved tobe a door opener for the work of prayer. But in the meantime, I was busy with thework to prepare in helping resettle the three Vietnamese men.

JESUS' WORD JANUARY 30, 1976: On this day JESUS gave me specificinstructions concerning the work at Trinity, saying:

"...TAKE UP THE LIST OF THE SICK 1N TRINITY AND PRAY FOR EACH. AS MY SPIRIT MOVESTHEE, SG SHALL YOU WRITE AND GO FORTH AND DO MY WILL THAT MY CHILDREN MAYKNOW THAT I HEAR THEM; THAT I AM NEAR; THAT I LOVE THEM; THAT I AM MERCIFUL;AND THAT MY PROMISES ARE TRUE AND MY WORD ENDURES.

SOME MAY REJECT YOU; SOME MAY RECEIVE YOU -- NEVERTHELESS, PRAY FOR ALL ANDKEEP IN THE ANOINTING I RENEW IN YOU. REMAIN IN PRAYER. COME TO US IN FAITH,TRUST IN ME AND ALL THINGS WILL BE REVEALED UNTO THEE THAT I WILL HAVE THEEKNOW.

I SAY UNTO YOU -- BE IN THE BOLDNESS OF RESOLUTENESS OF MY SPIRIT BUT GOGENTLY, HUMBLY, PEACEFULLY, IN LOVE AND FAITH, WHOLLY DEPENDENT UPON ME,TRUSTING IN ME."

In obedience to the Lord, I began writing letters to all those listed in the weeklychurch bulletin as hospitalized, to pray for them and visit them when possible.

Again, as Trinity was a microcosom of the church and I a representative of Hisfaithful-obedient, this Word was for me and for all who would join with me in thisanointed work in Christ.

In all this I continued to pray and seek God's help whereby one could enter TrinityChurch to begin the work of prayer.

MARCH 3, 1976 VISION of Battle: On March 3, 1976 while attending aSolomon's Porch prayer meeting, I saw a strange vision.

In this vision I saw a multitude of Christian brethren (myself included) in the fullarmor of God, standing shoulder to shoulder on a battle front that extended acrossthe face of the earth.

Hoards of fallen angels (demons), filthy, brownish and black in color, eyes burningwith hatred, attacked us in a massive rush. To my surprise many Christians ran



MARCH 3 1976 VISION of Battle: (Continued)away in fear and scattered. The enemy encircled those remaining who stood theirground (I was among one such group). The Christian soldiers, now greatlyoutnumbered, gathered into formation, back to back. We shouted the name ofJESUS until all the demons fell tumbling down like match sticks. Then theyjumped to their feet for another attack. We called the Name of JESUS CHRISTagain. They fell a second time. This was repeated a third time with the same result.

Then we took the initiative, advancing in faith and slaying them. Broken bodies ofdemons were lying everywhere. Suddenly a mighty wind blew and the Lord'sAngels appeared, to clean up the battle field. They scooped up the fallen angels intoa crevice that opened up in the ground. Lightnings struck over and over again untilthe earth burned to where everything now glowed as pure gold. The vision ended.

The revelation of God was clear in meaning. We, Christians, were coming to a timeof major battle with the forces of darkness and that many of our brethren wouldturn and run. But those that stood in Christ would stand and in His Name overcomeand defeat the enemy. Lastly, this land would be cleansed of all demonic presenceand be sanctified by His Holy Fire. What was revealed was as total as a vison canbe.

THE APRIL 13, 1976 LEADING and VISION: On April 13, 1976 JESUS ledme to bring the "FAMINE MESSAGE" and my notes of the 1973 vision of themonster earthquake to destroy Chicago and the Midwest to the Solomon's Porchprayer meeting that night.

Earlier that week I had insight to know that an earthquake would shake a sizeablearea of the Midwest in the next week or so. I shared this insight with some fellowworkers at the Du Pont Offices and also with brethren from the Solomon's Porchmeeting. During the prayer meeting that evening of April 13, 1976 JESUS plainlytold me that an earthquake would strike the Midwest that evening but I decided tokeep that to myself as I had a full plate, having read aloud in this meeting both"The FAMINE MESSAGE" and the vision of 1973 about the monster earthquakethat would destroy Chicago and much of the Midwest U.S.A..

Next day. April 14, 1976, Helen, a sister in the Lord and fellow worker at the DuPont Offices came up to me and said, "The tremor the Lord told you about strucklast night and shook seven states in the Midwest. "

This was the Lord's way of validating not only the "Famine Message", but also thevision of 1973 of the monster earthquake to destroy Chicago and the Midwest.

JESUS' WORD and COMMISSION of APRIL 16, 1976: April 16th was GoodFriday and I was in Church at a special service. During the church service I noticeda beam of very bright light which streamed into the altar area of the church. I

looked at this light and saw JESUS CHRIST. The Lord stood before me, dressed

in a white robe of coarse but beautiful fabric. JESUS extended His arms andpresented His Hands; and I saw the gaping marks and holes left from the nails. Hisbrow was badly cut from the thorns. He was shining in all the Glory of the Son ofGod. I was overwhelmed by His radiant love and warmth. Jesus spoke to mesaying:

"BEHOLD, I AM WHO I AM. THY HOUR IS AT HAND. BEHOLD, THOU SHALL BE ENDUEDWITH POWER FROM ON HIGH AND BEGIN ALL THE WORK I HAVE ORDAINED ANDESTABLISHED IN YOU. GO TO TRINITY. GO AND DO MY WILL AND PERSIST IN LOVE,FAITH, HOPE AND THE FULLNESS OF MY JOY, WHICH I HAVE GIVEN TO YOU. GO TELLTHEM THAT WHICH I'VE REVEALED TO YOU. BE BOLD AND FEAR NO MAN. BE SLOW TOANGER AND SLOWER YET TO ANSWER. YEA, WAIT UPON ME IN EVERY INSTANCE, PRAYAND SEEK ME AND YOU WILL FIND ME EVER AT YOUR SIDE. GO IN LOVE, PATIENCE,KINDNESS. ABIDE IN MY WORD -- STAY IN WHOLE PRAYER ALWAYS AND YOU WILLPREVAIL IN MY VICTORY."

I was personally overcome, aware of my inadequacies. I spoke of my sinfulness,

unworthiness, weakness and shortcomings -- for I did not see or feel myself ableto do all of this.

JESUS replied, "HOW DO YOU CONCERN YOURSELF OVER THIS? I TELL YOU, MYGRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU. THOU SHALT BE DELIVERED A SON WHO SHALL BE ASIGN UNTO THIS GENERATION OF PERSECUTION."

I next asked the Lord about a job and JESUS said, "1 WILL PROVIDE ALL YOU NEED.HEAR MY WORD AND BE OBEDIENT QUICKLY. DELAY NOT THE DOING OF MY WORDBUT BE QUICK IN THE DOING, FOR TIME GROWETH SHORT. I SEND YOU TO TRINITY. GOAND DO MY WILL"

THE BRIEF, the 100 ELDERS OF PRAYER at TRINITY LUTHERANCHURCH and JESUS' call further defined: Inn late April of 1976 1 wrote upa special report I called "A Brief', which was a typed brief biographical story ofmyself and why the Lord JESUS had led me to Trinity Lutheran Church. I had thisprinted and then mailed it out to 25 heads of households in the congregation whomthe Lord had pointed out to me as being called by Him as 'Elders of Prayer'* atTrinity Lutheran Church (the Church in America).

*Note - JESUS had revealed to me that there were 100 Elders of Prayer (men) at Trinitywho were called by Him to be intercessors/prayer warriors.

This 'Brief' included an invitation to come to my home on predetermined eveningsto hear what the Lord told me in depth about God's call on Trinity

The first night scheduled, no one showed up from Trinity. I mailed additionalcopies of the "Brief' aiming to reach the 100 Elders of prayer in this manner.

On the next scheduled meeting to be held at my home, four members of Trinityarrived. They were Edward and his wife, Alice and their daughter Carolyn and herfriend Christine. The meeting was a sweet experience after a considerable periodof resistance to the things of God. The four Trinity members got confirmation fromthe Lord that I was His prophet, and then surprised me by asking, "YVhat does the

Lord want us to do?"

Shortly, after this development, Reverend Mark telephoned me at work to expressconcern (if not irritation) as my "Brief' had caused quite a stir at Trinity.

Of the 100 Elders (men) of prayer/heads of households called by God to prayer,one head of household, (Ed) and three women came forward and joined with us(myself, Cliff and Bill from Solomon's Porch) to form the 'Trinity Net of Prayer.'Our first order of business was as before, concerted, persistent daily prayer to gainaccess to the church and reaching out to the congregation calling them to prayer.

After this JESUS gave a better definition of our task in prayer saying that Hewanted, 'TWO OR MORE GATHERED IN THE CHURCH, BEFORE THE ALTAR, ANOINTEDI N OIL, PRAYING AND INTERCEDING FOR SINS, PRAISING GOD, SINGING HYMNS,READING SCRIPTURES AND PLEADING FOR MERCY FOR ALL, FOR THREE CONSECUTIVEHOURS EACH DAY FOR THREE MONTHS." Then JESUS said, "THEN WILL I GIVE LIFEANEW, REVIVE, RESTORE, RAISE ANEW THE WHOLE CONGREGATION BY MY HOLYSPIRIT."

JESUS' WORD of June 25, 1976: While holding a 'Net of Prayer'

meeting at my home, the Lord spoke to us prophetically about Trinity (again He

addressed the Church in America) saying:

"IF YOU RECEIVE NOT MY SPIRIT, YOU SHALL RECEIVE MY CONDEMNATION -- FOR I AMTHE LORD THY GOD. MY BLESSINGS ARE UPON THEE; MY BLESSING ARE IN THY MIDSTAND YE THAT KNOW ME SHALL RECEIVE MY SPIRIT AND COME INTO GREAT JOY, FORMY LOVE FOR THEE IS BOUNDLESS AND I SHALL DO ALL THINGS FOR YOU. THERE IS "'

YOU MAY BE FALTERING, BUT I AM WITH YOU AND YOU CANNOT FAIL FOR MYGRACE IS SUFFICIENT FOR ALL YOUR NEEDS. YOU WILL NOT FAIL IF YOU LOVE, TRUSTME, FOLLOW ME."

This Word came by the Spirit of God, thus it was in His time context where alltime is one, past, present and future are one. Today I understand that He wasspeaking of things of the past and the present and future all at once. It was not asingular view of "where this nation has been" but "where this nation will be."

For example when JESUS said, "...FOR HE HAS BEEN EXCEEDINGLY PATIENT WITHYOU. HE HAS BEEN EXCEEDINGLY WATCHFUL OVER YOU IN WAITING FOR YOU. HE HASTOLERATED SO MUCH AND HIS HEART IS HEAVY WITH YOUR SINS AND YOURREVILINGS AND YOUR REJECTION. IF YOU ONLY KNEW THE HEART OF THE FATHER GOD,YOU WOULD KNOW HOW OFTEN YOU HAVE TRIED HIM; AND YET HE IS PATIENT ANDWAITS IN LOVE AND KINDNESS."

This was a revelation as much of what America HAD done (past) as what Americawould do (future). This part of His Word was valid in 1976 and it is even morevalid today 24 years later.



GOD'S INTENTION IN HIS PROPHETIC WORD REVEALED: The desireof GOD OUR FATHER to extend mercy to mankind (not just His Church, Hispeople) is most evident throughout His Word; and yet, He clearly wa rns of theconsequences of unrepented sin and continued prayerlessness. The need for prayeris clearly stated, that He might work through the prayers of His people to extendHis love, mercy and help to a sin burdened world drifting into the jaws of deathand hell.

What would happen next (before the Net of Prayer was allowed to enter intoTrinity Lutheran Church to pray) was a template of future prayer campaigns. At thetime I did not understand it with the clarity I would in later years. Like mostChristians I tended to view the Word of conning judgment as speaking of somethingthat was not only inevitable and inescapable, but that it was inherently a good orat least necessary thing to cleanse a sinful nation. This view would fall away in theyears of prayer warfare to come as we got insight into the nature of "the executors"of God's law/judgments.

It is now 24 years since that time and I still remember this situation because it wasa trouble, trial and deep concern to me at the time. But by this experience I learnedso clearly that it was God's Perfect Will to spare, to extend mercy, to save, and notto condemn, destroy and cast into hellfire.

On June 15, 1976, while JESUS was talking to me, I asked the Lord when thetremor would hit and JESUS answered, "JULY 5TH, NOON." I assumed it was 1976.On June 25, 1976 we of the "Net of Prayer" were gathered for prayer and Imentioned to all that I 'suspected' that the tremor would hit on July 5, 1976, but Iasked them to say nothing as I was seeking confirmation.

The task before us was clear and it required intense prayer, persistent reaching outto the congregation and calling them to pray. We sought permission to enter intoTrinity Church and to pray there as the Lord had asked us on January 30, 1975.The Lord JESUS further detailed his call in that fie wanted, 'TWO OR MOREGATHERED IN THE CHURCH, BEFORE THE ALTAR, ANOINTED IN OIL, PRAYING ANDI NTERCEDING FOR SINS, PRAISING GOD, SINGING HYMNS, READING SCRIPTURES ANDPLEADING FOR MERCY FOR ALL, FOR THREE CONSECUTIVE HOURS EACH DAY FORTHREE MONTHS. THEN WILL I GIVE LIFE ANEW. REVIVE, RESTORE, RAISE ANEW THE ...WHOLE CONGREGATION BY MY HOLY SPIRIT."

JUNE 28, 1976: I was attending an evangelist's meeting near Chicago and had ablessed time in prayer and praise. The Reverend Burt spoke of how God plannedto shake Chicago with revival. As I was driving home from the meeting JESUSspoke to me asking, "WILL YOU HEAR ME?" I smiled happily and said, "Yes, Lord. "JESUS then spoke in an angry voice which startled me, I'd heard His Anger onlyonce before and it shook we deeply, for I had seen terrible consequences cone tothose who offended the Spirit of God. JESUS speaking of Trinity Church said,'THOSE HAVE GRIEVED MY SPIRIT, HAVE RESISTED MY WILL AND MADE WAR ON ME.WILL SURELY DESTROY THEM OUT OF THE CONGREGATION."

Months earlier I was both angry and fed-up with the resistance to God's Word atTrinity, but then JESUS corrected me, telling me to, "LOVE THEM AND BE PATIENTWITH THEM." I'd prayed for months to have that inner-most heart view towards themso JESUS' Words stunned me. I responded by saying, "Lord JESUS, you told meto love them and to be patient with them. Now that I love them and am patient withthem will you now destroy them? Lord, please show mercy , for these at Trinity."

It was like a storm one moment and a calm the next, for now the Lord said,"BECAUSE YOU HAVE ASKED, I WILL SHOW THEM MERCY."

Then the Lord JESUS told me that the first Sunday following the tremor that Hewould strike down with illness those who grieved Him and that if I and those wholove Him did not go and pray for them, and that they received us, that these wouldsurely die. The Lord added that I would have to stand in the congregation thatSunday and tell the pastor that he had 24 hours to repent of resisting and grievingthe HOLY SPIRIT or the Lord would destroy him from off the earth and he wouldthen answer to JESUS directly.

This tremor would happen on July 5, 1976 at noon, and the following Sunday (July11th) I would have to stand in the congregation and say, thus sayeth the Lord:

'YOU RESIST MY SPIRIT AND HAVE GRIEVED ME. YOU HAVE MADE WAR ON MEAND I REQUITE YOU. NOW I SAY TO YOU, YOU HAVE TWENTY-FOUR HOURS TOREPENT OR YOU WILL SURELY DIE BY MY HAND AND THEN BEFORE ME WILL YOUANSWER FOR EVERYTHING HAVE SAID AND DONE.'

It is indeed a fearful thing to fall into the Hands of the Living GOD, it is also afearful thing to even be aware of the fierceness of His Wrath, for I trembled all theway home on hearing His Word and perceiving the extent of His Wrath.

HOW DID I KNOW THIS WAS THE WORD OF THE LORD? Just monthsearlier this same year a brother in the Lord laid hands on me and in doing incurredthe Wrath of God. I heard the Lord speak in similar terms about this brother. Hedid not repent and was struck down as the Lord said would happen. I readilyrecognized that this June 28, 1976 revealed Wrath of God was the Word of Godand that He meant business. Only, in this case, I discerned that the Lord God wastalking about as many as 150 living souls at Trinity. I sought the Lord forconfirmation and He confirmed His Word readily.

Unsettled in my spirit over what was coming I began calling other Christians andsharing with them all JESUS had told me. To my disappointment several began totell others that an earthquake would strike July 5th, some even made bets as to howmany would be struck down at Trinity. Again, there was no prayer.

Shortly thereafter, the HOLY SPIRIT gave me a clear and distinct knowing that thetremor would happen on July 5, 1976 at 12 Noon. When you 'know' it, you 'know'it -- no further evidence was needed or required. On July 2, 1976 JESUS spoke tome and said:

I stayed in prayer and fasted this whole day, but I 'knew' that my prayers alonewere not enough. Late in the evening of July 2nd, I reached Carolyn (one of theTrinity Net of Prayer intercessors) at home and told her what the Lord had shownme. Carolyn shared that she knew that the pastors wanted to remove me.

In prayer with another Minister I came to recognize that while I did not want anyharm to come to the members of Trinity, at the same time I did not want theearthquake to not happen. It was obvious that if it were cancelled (the tremor andjudgment of God) I'd look like a big fool, something I had no desire to expierenceeither. At this point I recognized that being His Prophet was a no-win situationhumanly speaking, for "if' many were struck down and perished that would behorrible and "if' mercy was gotten and the quake cancelled, I'd face ridicule andaccusation for being a false prophet. From my personal perspective it was clearlya "no-win" situation. This I came to understand was the usual human dilema every MW

prophet has faced over the ages, doing God's Will versus serving self-interest.

The 'knowing by the SPIRIT OF GOD that the tremor would happen on July 5,1976 at 12 noon was steady and unshakable.

Then on July 4th at around noon suddenly that 'knowing' lifted off of me and Iknew that GOD had changed it! It would not happen and I could not say anything.What I didn't know for a few days was that Carolyn had called her dad and mom(Ed and Alice) and they in turn had called several Christians friends, told themwhat was going to happen and on July 4th at around noon, they began to pray.They persisted and prayed through until they knew' that GOD had heard them. Thatis what the Lord was looking for!

On July 5th 1976 at 12 noon, I saw a vision of the angel of death coming downover Chicago and watched as the Hand of GOD came down and swept up the angelof death just before it touched the city. There was no tremor at noon July 5, 1976.

On July 6th I attended the Solomon's Porch Prayer Group meeting. Many in theprayer group asked me "why no quake?", but the Lord had told me to say nothingand to wait for someone to receive a revelation from Him. It was not easy to do,but I also realized that trying to explain it would be equally futile.

Unknown to me, while Carolyn was saying her night prayers on July 6th, GODTHE FATHER spoke to her (and shook her up) and then HE repeated the messagea second time, so she wrote it down and relayed it to me. The FATHER GOD said,

'TELL MY SERVANT, CHUCK, NOT TO BE ANXIOUS, NOT TO WORRY. I HAVE DECIDED TOWITHHOLD MY WRATH. I WILL USE YOU, HIM AND THE OTHERS TO BRING MYCHILDREN AT TRINITY TO SEE MY FACE. IT SHALL BE AS YOU HAVE ASKED. TELL CHUCKNOT TO WORRY, I WILL TALK TO HIM."

On July 10, 1976 JESUS spoke to me and said, concerning those who would havebeen struck down: 'THAT 87 PERSONS PLUS THE PASTOR WERE TO BE STRUCK DOWN.OF THESE, 26 HAD A CHANGE OF HEART BECAUSE OF PRAYER, AND THAT THEREREMAINED 62 UNREPENTANT."

BREAKTHROUGH!!! During a "Net of Prayer" meeting for Trinity, the Lord ledme to ask Carolyn to ask Reverend Mark of Trinity if we could come in the churchand pray. Carolyn bore witness to this and on August 26,_1976 Carolyn talked toReverend Mark. He agreed to our praying in the church!

SEPTEMBER 7. 1976 the THREE MONTHS of PRAYER BEGINS ATTRINITY CHURCH Once we had permission from the pastor to pray in thechurch it was now a matter of organizing prayer teams whereby we could maintainpraying three hours day by day for three months. On September 7, 1976 , the Lordled me to place with Edward and Alice the honor of selecting the day we wouldbegin the three months of prayer. Edward and Alice proved to be bold and withouthesitation. They decided to begin praying that very night. Thus the Net of Prayerbecame fully operational.

IN SUMIt has taken years of intercession and insight by the Holy Spirit to rightlycomprehend all that happened in those early years of the Net of Prayer. I mightventure today to offer a summary of some of the key points, these being:

1. RESISTANCE TO GOD'S CALL TO PRAYER: It was the expressed andrevealed Will of God that there be an organized effort of prayer-intercession onbehalf of Trinity Lutheran Church (representative of the Church in America). Theconsequences of their sin was about to catch-up to them and the Lord was callingfor intercession that mercy be extended. This resistance to the call to prayer wenton month after month from 1975 all through to the end of August of 1976.

2. THE WRATH OF GOD: JESUS' Word and revelation about the July 5, 1976tremor and that many would be struck down at Trinity for grieving the HOLYSPIRIT was a revelation of the consequence of their sin catching up to them. Thework of prayer had not yet begun and the consequences of their sin was about toget hold of them and that consequence was death. Their unbelief was no armoragainst the consequence of sin and their rebellion and prayerlessness made themvulnerable, easy prey for the fallen ones.

3. SEEKING PRAYER FOR MERCY: Although I was not fully aware of all thatthe Lord God was doing, 1 was led perfectly by His HOLY SPIRIT in seeking outbrethren who would take up the burden of prayer for those at Trinity who werefacing the Wrath of GOD and certain death.

4. PRAYER TURNED JUDGMENT AWAY, THIS WAS GOD'S PERFECTWILL: This was the heart and purpose of the call to others sharing what JESUShad said was coming, that prayer turn judgment away and mercy be gotten.
