PREFACE THANKS to the eo-operation whlch we have received from

many quarters, official and other, we hope that we have been able to bring the information in the sixty-first issue of the YuR~Boox: to the latest available date. Special attention has been given to recent constitutional changes in various countries. New Constitutions have been adopted in China, Egypt, tind Ru~sia, and fundamental innovations have been introduced into the Constitutions of Greece, Italy, Spain, and Turkey. The section relating to the last-named country has been brought up to date to accord with the arrangements made in the Treaty of Lnusanne, the territQlial changes of which. are also indicated on the first map accompanying this volume ; and it has been found possible to collect together certain statistics concerning Ireland.

T~e Introductory Tables contain, as usual, a number of world surveys, including some comparative statistics in regard to taxation, revenue and expenditure, and debt charges; a conspectus of the League of Nations; and a list of the more important recent Treaties, and also of the more important International Organisations. Special attention is directed to the " Additions and Corrections n ; these contain .salient facts and figures which did not become available in time for inclusion in the body of the book.

To our numerous friends all over the world we desire once again to express our very warm thanks for their valued co-operation.
