Week of 15th
April 2013
The students inquired into their sixth Unit –How we organize ourselves. Central idea- In a workplace people share responsibility towards a common purpose.
Inquiry Into-

• Importance of shared vision or common purpose
Key Concepts- Function, Causation, Change Related Concepts– Cooperation, Employment
Students were involved in- Group discussion on roles and responsibilities of people involved in a
Restaurant and School -to understand the interconnectedness of people in a workplace.
Audio visual on the different functions of a workplace. Comprehension exercise based on the poem- ‘Together’ focusing on poet’s
message, importance of team work and their thoughts about the same. Familiarization to rhyming words- identified the set of rhyming words from the
poem and made their own poem using rhyming words. Introduction to Acrostic poem as a form of writing where the first letter spells
out a word or a message and made acrostic poems on words from the inquiry- Together and Teamwork.
Understanding the conversion of litres and millilitres and solved different mathematical equations based on the same.
Assessment of the concepts done in measurement. Introduction to the concept of Position- familiarised to the terms ‘rows’ and
‘columns’ and solved questions describing the position of the given pictures.
Home Task- Practice sheet on measurement and positions.

Spelling Bee • There will be a spelling challenge on Thursday- 25th April 2013

Summative assessment was done on internet through a worksheet to analyse their understanding on the basics of internet.

The students completed their stuffed toy making activity. They learnt drawing of animals- giraffe, tiger and lion. Exercise on development of composition using bigger and varied forms. Focus on drawing and compositional skills
