This collection is work from the summer of 2015 semester of Making Comics and Making Comics Advanced at Syn Studio in downtown Montreal.

I started teaching this group of students four classes into their course, taking over from Kelly Tindall who founded the program at the school. The Advanced class was especially productive, and in all between the two courses, 74 pages of comics were finished! There’s some really strong work in this collection, I fully expect to see more good things from a few of them!

Several of those who didn’t compleate the course were doing intersting work too. Hope they keep trying so long as they have fun with it. But comics really are tough, often deceptively more work than people

realize. Getting a short story done in just 10 classes is a good test of if you can do it. And more importantly if you can enjoy the process!

I’m pleased to say all those who stuck it out and got a story done for this, reported at least enjoying getting there. And all of them visibly improved doing it.

Enjoy the shorts, and the fun strange one pagers by D-Erika Philippe, which I have to thank her for. They made laying out the collection a lot of fun! it’s nice to transition from one short story to another, with a colorful done in one. Perfect!
