Message from the East
Brethren,
Happy November and
Thanksgiving to you all! I hope
this Trestle Board finds you in
good health and spirit. The
summer season seems to have
passed in a flash; the weather is
finally cooling off and the busy
holiday season is just around the
corner.
By the time you read this article,
the month of October has gone
by. October was a hectic month
for all of us here at the Granada
Hills Lodge. We completed the
annual Child ID program at the
San Fernando Valley Disaster
Preparedness Fair last October
1st. We scheduled two 3rd
degrees on October 12 and 19
and two 1st degrees on October
26. And lastly, we participated in
the Annual Communications in
San Francisco on October 28 to
30.
November is the month when we
honor all those who served and
those who continue to serve in
the military. As we celebrate
Veteran’s Day, let us take time to
reflect upon the many sacrifices
that the past and present
members of our armed forces and
their families have made, and
continue to make, to keep our
nation free. Thank you all for
your service.
November is also a time for
thanksgiving and I would like to
take a moment to express my
personal thanks to those who
continue to work tirelessly for the
betterment of our lodge. To all
the petitioners, candidates, and
members of Granada Hills Lodge
No 378, thank you for
contributing to help us fulfill our
duties in the lodge as well as
service to our community. Thank
you all from the bottom of my
heart and always remember it is
not what we do that counts, it is
who we do it for.
I am also thankful for the
continuous growth of our
lodge. Men from different
backgrounds are coming in our
doorsteps who would like to be
part of the oldest and greatest
fraternity in the world. Thank
you for choosing the Granada
Hills Lodge No. 378 as your
home.
Their Masonic journey will not be
profound if not for the guidance
of our current member. You play
a vital role as a friend and
mentor. Thank you for teaching
these men all the moral virtues
that have been passed to us by
other Master Masons who have
done and gone before us.
A special thanks to all of our
Excellent Past Masters and most
especially Worshipful Brother
George, who have continued to
refine our Wonderful
Lodge. Thank you for sharing all
your wisdom and your support in
helping me in making our lodge
stronger.
Lastly, I sincerely thank all of you
for your cooperation,
encouragement, and friendship. I
am immensely proud to be a
member of Granada Hills Lodge
No. 378 and am truly honored to
serve as your Worshipful Master
this year.
Please make note of some
important dates. On November
2nd we will hold the election of the
2017 officers. In order to vote,
each Brother must present a
CURRENT 2017 dues card. If you
cannot find your card, contact the
secretary or myself ASAP. We
want to ensure everyone that is
current and eligible to vote have
the opportunity to do so.
November 19th will be our annual
Master Appreciation Night. It will
be held at Odyssey Restaurant at
15600 Odyssey Drive, Granada
Hills, CA 91344. Come join us
for a night of fun, food, and
dance. Let us enjoy the
camaraderie which makes the
Granada Hills Lodge No 378 one
of the best lodges in the world
and experience what brotherhood
is all about.
There will also be some degree
conferral in this month of
November. Watch out for the
updates on our regular email,
Facebook posts, and GHL App.
Have a great and safe
Thanksgiving and continue our
Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth.
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Mike Reyes, WM

Message from the West
Remembering the Past While
Moving Forward
It’s the past that shapes our
future. We can never forget
the past but must learn from it
while we move forward. I use
this example in my work of
someone driving a car. The
rear-view mirror is small. We
look at it to see our past. But
the windshield is must larger
and through it we see our
future. Where we want to go
and the obstacles we must
maneuver past to get to our
destination. That must be our
focus.
We are still working to resolve
our past issues as a Lodge but
we must also look towards our
future. 2017 offers us the
chance to refocus on our
journey together as a Lodge
and Brothers of the path we
want to pursue.
So this month as the New
Year approaches I want to ask
each of you to do this simple
exercise. Take out a piece of
paper when you have time.
Fold it in half.
On the left write down your
concerns about our past
together. On the right – write
down your hopes, dreams,
goals or changes you would
like to see the Lodge make as
we move together in 2017.
Please remember it Lodge
belongs to all of us. We will
either sink or swim, stay
stagnant or grow together as
one. Please send your list to
me and it will be kept in
confidence.
As Patrick Henry once said:
"Let us trust G-d, and our
better judgment to set us
right hereafter. United we
stand, divided we fall. Let us
not split into factions which
must destroy that union upon
which our existence
hangs." Henry Ford once said:
Coming together is the
beginning, keeping together is
progress, and working
together is success. Let 2017
be our year of successes.
Sincerely and Fraternally
yours,
Brother Steven Wolvek, SW

Message from the South
Brethren
The Year is almost over and
since it is the month of
Thanksgiving. I would like to
take this opportunity to thank
everyone for the support and
trust that you've given the
officers and to the Lodge.
When I became a Mason I did
not dream to be an Officer of
our Lodge because of the
works that I am seeing that
the officers are doing is really
hard and I believe an Officer
or a Leader usually shine
before you are recognize.
And I told myself that to be a
good Mason, you do not need
to be an Officer and
sometimes being a good
follower is better but the trust
and support that you've given
me was very humbling.
As a Mason, humility is one of
the best tenants that we
everyone should practice in
our daily lives. To be humble
is to recognize gratefully our
dependence in the Lord, to
understand that we have
constant need for His support.
Humility is an
acknowledgment that our
talents and abilities are gifts
from God. It is not a sign of
weakness, timidity, or fear; it
is an indication that we know
where our true strength lies.
We can be both humble and
fearless. We can be both
humble and courageous.
And lastly, I would again like
to invite everyone to attend
our Stated Dinner and
meeting this coming
November 2. Dinner will be
Roasted Turkey, Green Bean
Casserole, Pasta, Mashed
Potato, and Bread.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely and Fraternally
Yours,
Rock L Sodusta, JW

From the Secretary’s Desk
Brethren,
By the time you received this
newsletter, GHLodge378
election is over and the
change of guards is now in the
preparation of the 110th
annual Installation to succeed
to that honored time seated
chair.
To the 2017 sets of officers, I
say congratulations and
looking forward to another
good year and Thank You to
the outgoing master for
serving the lodge. It was a
successful year in spite of the
rough road we have travelled.
It was a dramatic
transformation, and you have
risen to every new challenge.
You made the lodge social
fabric stronger. As it was said
that harmony is the strength
and support of civil society,
you made GHLodge378
stronger than it was before.
To the outgoing Master,
“KUDOS” for a job very well
done.
With this said, I welcome the
new Worshipful Master and
looking forward of working
together to make GHLodge378
even more stronger and
healthier as we look forward
to 2017 ensuing year and to
all the challenges we may
face.
We must remember that
GHLodge378 cannot lead
unless we weave the threads
of our coat of many colors into
one fabric of GHLodge378.
On the other note, I welcome
the District Inspector,
Worshipful Alberto Casanova,
PM of San Fernando Lodge No.
343 F&AM.

Free & Accepted Masons...
"The secret of Masonry, like the secret of life, can be known only by those who seek it, serve it, live it. It cannot
be uttered; it can only be felt and acted. It is, in fact, an open secret, and each man knows it according to his quest
and capacity. Like all things worth knowing, no one can know it for another and no man can know it alone."

Applying for Membership
One of Masonry’s customs is not to solicit members; men must seek membership on their own through a Mason they know or a local lodge.
California Masonic membership is open to men age 18 or older who meet the qualifications and standards of character and intention, and who believe in a Supreme Being. Men of all ethnic and religious backgrounds are welcome.
A Mason who recommends you for membership will assist with completing and submitting the application. After submitting the application, you will be interviewed by members of the lodge you wish to join so they can learn more about you and you can learn
more about Freemasonry. If the interview is favorable, your application is presented to the lodge for a vote. If the vote is affirmative, you receive the Entered Apprentice degree – the first degree of Freemasonry. When you advance through the next two degrees, you are a
Master Mason and a full member of the fraternity.
Below are forms for Application for Degrees and Affiliation.
We meet every Wednesday @ 7:00 PM. Go to calendar of events for schedules.
