Olauda Equiano and Quobna Cugoano, two former slaves who have gained their freedom have written in to the London times about their stories about their involvement in the triangle trade. Your editor wants you to write a short article summarizing their experience.

Olaudah Equianoo Olaudah Equiano was an

African native who was stolen from his homeland and forced into slavery under the British.o AS the servant of a naval officer Equiano traveled the seas participating in battles.o As his masters favorite slave Equiano was sent to England to

learn to read and write.o Due to his knowledge of

navigation and education he was sold to a Pennsylvania

merchant.Equiano eventually bought his freedom and went on to join

the British abolition movement as a writer and speaker.

Quobna Cugoano

o Quobna Cugoano was an African native who was captured and sold into slavery.

o After being the slave of a merchant he was hired by a prominent English artist which helped him come in contact with the upper portions of English society.o Cugoano became involved in the abolitionist

movement and wrote a book on his experiences with the help of his friend Olaudah Equiano.
