"Belle Baruch exhibited unusual generosity in leaving the Hobcaw Barony property to be used for research by the
colleges and universities of the state. However, for many years it remained somewhat of a hidden treasure. The Board of Trustees and Administration have been good stewards, expanding its mission to include tours of the property and many programs that all may enjoy, while maintaining its history and tradition. Connie and I are pleased to support this effort."
Dr. J.J. Britton from Sumter, South Carolina, holds degrees from Clemson University and The Medical University of South Carolina. He has served on multiple boards at both schools, and is Trustee Emeritus at Clemson University. He and his wife, Connie, are longtime Hobcaw Barony donors and were frequent guests
of Ella Severin at Bellefield.
