I received a BA from Denison University in chemistry and an MPH from Emory University in global environmental health. I worked for seven years within the field of public health prior to entering the doctoral program. My specific research interests include social vulnerability, disaster response, community recovery, and long-term resilience. I am interested in the use of mobile phone technology and the opportunity to create diffused knowledge infrastructure, emergency communication, and the monitoring of disease clusters.
