As the summer comes to an end, and the Board, our committees and our great staff prepare for the upcoming season, there is excitement in the air. Before long the golf course will reopen, and the season and holiday events will commence.

As it was when the clubhouse was renovated, members were asked to be patient while the course was under construction, and I can say I couldn’t have been more pleased with the efforts from the staff, the cooperation from the membership and the gracious welcomes from all the reciprocal clubs that partnered with Delaire to allow our members to play golf throughout the duration of the renovation.

A very special thanks goes to our closest neighbor, Bocaire Country Club. As the saying goes, “there is no place like home,” but Bocaire sure did one heck of a job making a trying time very tolerable. Not only was the membership welcomed in a gracious manner at Bocaire, but also the cooperation between the golf staffs of both clubs was commendable.

With further regard to the renovation, I want the entire membership to know what an amazing job our Superintendent, Mr. Travis McCoy, and his staff have done. On a daily basis, they worked long, arduous hours in the Florida sun with enthusiasm, humble pride and a “let’s get it done” attitude. A special thank you also goes to the Ad Hoc Golf Facilities Enhancement Committee, whose members gave a lot of their personal time throughout this large undertaking.

With that said, I look forward to welcoming back our seasonal members and continuing to meet and know the many new members who have recently joined the Delaire family.

As always, I thank you for your continued support.

    A Few Words...Judy Tarter, Editor

“The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music”...a song that we at Delaire can now recognize as a spotlight in the Wonderful Life we all enjoy and live daily here at Delaire Country Club! Whether playing on our new Golf Courses (very soon!) or enjoying life in our outstanding Club House as we dine and enjoy the delicious food in the Bar and Dining Room, or swimming in our incredible walk-in Pool, or playing on our great Tennis Courts, or working out in our fabulous Fitness Center, or playing canasta, mah jong, gin, bridge or poker in our great Card Rooms - we all know how lucky and fortunate we are to be enjoying the The Good Life - truly recognized as the Wonderful World of Delaire!

Let’s continue singing songs and dancing to them on the Music Nights at Delaire this season!

    My Thoughts...Robert Lidz, Co-Editor

I have been thinking what an outstanding atmosphere Delaire provides for an active life style and participation in a community of sharing. There seems to be an opportunity for each of us to express himself/herself openly and creatively. The many board committees depend on members contributing their thoughts as well as pushing Delaire in new, positive directions that will benefit all. This is our life blood. It is my hope the Good Life will continue to be one of the venues to learn what’s happening “on campus” as well as a place for members to contribute articles that will inform or even educate their fellow Delairians.

    Curt KarpelPresident, Board of Governors

It is hard to imagine that the Summer is almost over and many of you will soon return home. To those who are coming back, the best of the old and new Delaire awaits you. To those who have remained at Delaire, it has been a good time even though our golf courses have been closed for renovation and we have played at Bocaire Country Club. The Bocaire golf experience has been exceptional and their staff has made us feel truly welcome.

Everyone is anxious until our golf courses re-open in the Fall. You will be pleasantly pleased with their appearances and playability. Our continuing thanks to Ron Ellish, Steve Saltzman, Art Newman, Travis McCoy, our golf course superintendent, and Trent Squire, Delaire’s General Manager, for their extraordinary efforts to bring us the best new golf courses in South Florida. Please express your appreciation to them whenever you next see them around the Club for their extraordinary work.

Delaire continues to experience a host of new members joining within the last several years. As a member, whether new or old, if you see something that you feel should be addressed ,do not hesitate to contact me, any member of your Board of Governors, or Mr. Squire. We will address your concern(s). Responsiveness to member imput and wishes is our goal. In this regard, I promise to seek your opinions and suggestions on all matters effecting Delaire.

Our hope is that this coming season will be our best yet. Our facilities are the best, our staff is exceptional, and our membership is warm and caring. Therefore, I look for everyone to have a great experience this upcoming season at your home.

Nutrition is one of the most dominant issues facing the world today! Astonishingly, the 2016 elections have so far ignored the one topic that is among the biggest challenges and opportunities of our times. Our Food - whether for health, the environment, or the economy is a major issue facing the world today.

Our food system is also the leading cause of environmental impact on the planet. How we grow our food accounts for 70% of water use, 90% of Tropical deforestation, immense challenges to oceans and fish stock. Whether for water, land, oceans or climate, our food system is the crucial foundation for either harm or positive change. We need a secure, sustainable food system for our children and theirs!

As we’ve watched the 2016 elections unfold, where are all the corresponding questions on food, nutrition and health? On food and the environment, it seems that our food system should be front and center, receiving abundant attention from candidates, the media and the public.

It also seems to be the time for a major conference on nutrition. The last one was 47 years ago. Hopefully, nutritionists and people of the same mind set will start speaking and writing about this and we will have the subject addressed in the very near future.

    “May The Talks Begin”!

News from Your POACharla Levine, POA Secretary

There a number of exciting initiatives that the POA is currently spearheading.

The POA has approved a street lighting program to replace the 35 year old lighting fixtures with new poles and LED lighting fixtures, the very latest technology for our entire community. In addition to replacing the lights and poles, additional lights and poles will be added where needed. The most modern LED lighting fixtures will also be added to

our entrance and “round-a-bout” for a great welcoming drive when entering our community. This project is scheduled to begin during the off season, taking place during the summer months. We are very excited about this long overdue project. The POA is using funds from the reserve account and there will be no special assessment.

Additionally, The POA has upgraded the guest call-in procedure to provide you with an alternative to the telephone call-in system at the guardhouse. In working with our gate access provider, ABDi, we have developed a system that will allow you to admit your guests, vendors, contractors, etc. through the internet or an APP on your smart phone. You will also be able edit and update your permanent list, contact information, emergency information and view your personal entry logs.

We hope this system will provide you with a simple and efficient way of admitting guest and vendors without going through the telephone call-in system. The telephone call-in system will remain for those wishing to use that method.

We look forward to continued improvements for Delaire.

KNOW YOUR BOARDKNOW YOUR BOARDI find it exciting to be part of a team that discusses and plans the future of Delaire Country Club. Whether on a committee or the Board exploring new ideas with your peers and listening to different thoughts is stimulating. I feel Delaire is in the hands of those who think about the future and are willing to put in the time and effort. TRY IT!! You too will feel a sense of accomplishment. - Buddy Magod

DELAIRE’S EYE IN THE SKYDELAIRE’S EYE IN THE SKYAs most of you are aware, for the past 28 weeks, Norm and Marilyn Nebel have been creating a historical video record of the golf course renovation. Each week you have received an email with their latest video, but if you have missed any of them, or want to see the progress from beginning to end (or at any stage) you can find every video under the Golf section of the Delaire website (this is on the public facing side of the site, so you do not have to log in).

Creating these videos has not been a trivial matter. Norm, under new guidelines established this year, needed a license issued by the FAA to fly the quadcopter (drone). Fortunately, Norm who has been flying model airplanes since 1963 already had a license issued by the AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics), so qualifying for the new FAA license was straightforward. However, flying one of a drone is not a simple matter.

Our DJI Pantom 3 drone, is a quadcopter with a 4K professional camera that Norm can control with a couple of joy sticks. The controller also has a video screen, so that Norm can view what he is filming and adjust the camera angle to get the shot that he wants. However, in addition to the using the joy sticks for manual control, Norm can also control the flight of the drone by entering the coordinates of the flight path that he wants. This is pre-programmed on a computer using a special program which uses Google maps satellite photos. Consequently, the drone is effectively on auto pilot making it easier for Norm to fly long distances avoiding obstacles, like trees. Of course this requires significant preplanning, entering the “way point” coordinates for the flight, which he gets off of Google Maps, but, for us the end result of all of his work has been great.

But taking the videos with the drone is only half the process. The video has to be edited, stitched together, music, titles and text banners have to be added, and then the video has to be posted to the Delaire channel on YouTube. Fortunately, Norm has as his editor his wife Marilyn. Although she has been using the computer for years to create greeting cards, she, modestly, claims that she is not particularly computer savvy. I disagree, but you can be the judge of that.

Clearly, this has been a major commitment on both their parts, and we (and future Delairians) are in their debt. Thank you Norm and Marilyn for giving us this wonderful video gift.

How are the Rules applied in each incident?

Golf RulesAlan Tarter, FSGA Senior Certified Rules Official

    In single match play:

    1. Player A’s drop in taking relief from a cart path rolls into a bunker. Player A and Player B were not sure of the correct procedure so Player A and Player B concluded that Player A should play the ball from the bunker.

Later in the round, Player B described the incident to an on-course official and learned that Player A had played from a wrong place.

**The hole stands as played without any penalty. Not knowing of the correct procedure, Player A and Player B agreed on a procedure and, therefore, Player B was not entitled to make a valid claim. See Decision 2-5/8.5.

    2. On hole #2, Player C teed off followed by Player D. Player D then realized that both players had started the hole from the wrong tee markers and informed Player C of their mistakes.

**Player C has the right to recall Player D’s tee shot. See Rule 10-1c. Once Player D has played a stroke, Player D no longer has the right to recall Player C’s stroke. Player C’s tee shot is his ball in play on hole #2.

    3. Player E and Player F assumed that the Local Rule for stones in bunkers was in effect and, during play of holes of #3 and #4, Player E removed stones in bunkers prior to playing his ball from the bunkers. Player F was aware of Player E’s actions in the bunkers.

On hole #6, both players read the Notice to Players and realized that the Local Rule for stones in bunkers was not in effect.

**No penalties are incurred by Player E. Player F was aware of Player E’s actions in the bunkers on hole #3 and hole #4. A claim would only be valid if made prior to the start of the hole after stones had been removed from a bunker. See Rule 2-5.

The golf course is nearly complete with eighteen of the twenty-seven holes ready to be played in early November. We hope to open all twenty-seven holes in the beginning of December.

This major project could not have been done without the help and dedication of Travis McCoy our superintendent, Trent Squire, the crew from Southeast Golf led by Blake Huckabee, Kipp Schulties, Lee Marshal, Linda Rodgers and our dedicated members Ron Elish, Art Newman,

Janet Kaplan, Mark Zucker and Curt Karpel. I am sorry if I left anybody out but it took a lot of work from a lot of people.

I know you will be pleased and excited when you see and play the finished product. Kipp listened to what you all said at the focus group meetings and re-designed the course to reflect the member’s wishes. The bunkers are smaller and some have been removed, 100 trees have been relocated, greens have been re-built and the grass is all new with celebration on the fairways and in the rough. The approaches to the greens and the grass on the greens is also all new. You will all be pleased with the new concrete cart paths, rock walls and colorful plantings bringing a dramatic new look to the course.

Let’s all enjoy what we have all, in some way, sacrificed throughout the summer to achieve, but let us also respect what we have. Please be mindful of the areas that are not to be driven on by staying on the cart paths and following the cart signs until the grass matures so we will continue to have a quality course for many years.

Golf Course UpdateSteve Salzman, Chairman, Green Committee

  • It’s very hard to believe that October is here. For those of us that stayed at Delaire for the summer, we have seen an unbelievable transformation in our three golf courses. I, for one, never believed that when they sprigged, the Hills, formerly the Orange course, thought it would turn out to be so beautiful. I hope when our snowbirds return, they will be just as excited.

Our Tuesday Tournaments have not been well attended at Bocaire CC, however, everyone has taken advantage of the wonderful reciprocals that Joe Jones set up for us.

Our calendar is very full this season starting with our opening golf and luncheon, scheduled on November 8. This year we will do a nine hole tournament along with a beautiful lunch planned by Brenda Moss.

Pam Kirshenbaum has worked very hard making sure we have a fun filled season, beginning with our Member-Member first round November 15. Pick your partners and start to enjoy our new golf courses.

If you have been watching the videos that Norman Nebel has posted, you will notice that we have a new practice range - so hit some balls and get ready for a great season.

Delaire Woman’s Golf AssociationCathy Cutler-Salzman, President DWGA

Well, we’re less than 2 months away from our opening of the Hills (orange) and Lakes (blue) courses. As the excitement grows, there’s still a lot of planning, planting, and refining to be done. The Ladies’ and Men’s Golf Associations have been working diligently to get their respective League books complete and, as usual, you will notice on our 2016-2017 calendar all the golf related events are listed.

As our golf courses mature, we need all our members to be patient and understanding to changes that might occur during this first year and beyond. This would include possible date changes of tournaments and events (which might take place in our first year) and most importantly stricter adherence to our golf rules. Our rangers will be observing and monitoring the way we treat our new golf facilities. We want everyone to enjoy what has been done, so all of us can “show off” our new courses and practice facilities to our family and friends. But at the same time, we need our membership to be aware and respect the Delaire golf rules, which can be found on pages 13-25 in our Delaire Country Club and Property Owners Association handbook. The Golf and Green Committees will be refining and updating all our golf rules to conform to our new golf facilities. We will also be adding new rules to further protect the new courses as well as a few safety regulations to help protect our membership from harm or injury.

To be excited and thrilled is an understatement. I know that I’m biting at the bit to play our new courses as I’m sure we all are. Let’s not forget, though, the wonderful hospitality Bocaire has so generously offered us through this renovation period. As usual, many thanks to Joe, Billy, and our golf staff who have made our “golf lives” more tolerable through this difficult time. Finally many, many thanks to Steve Salzman and Ron Ellish and the Golf Course Enhancement Committee for their tireless efforts to get this project complete for all our enjoyment in the coming months and future years.

From the Golf CommitteeJeff White, Chairman

Delaire Men’s South County Golf League was played each week at a different course since Delaire was under renovation. We played 14 matches and almost every week a win or loss for the team came down to a final individual match often on the 18th hole. We won our share of matches but came out in the short end a few to many times and missed the playoffs. The Delaire roster included 40 players this year and often had more available players than the larger clubs we played. With our golf course renovation project coming to a magnificent end we feel very confident that our Delaire team will be back in the playoffs and proudly host other teams on our new course while still trying to beat their brains out. Thanks South County Golf League Players.

    Fitness FactsPhil Bayne, Fitness Director

Welcome to Delaire Fitness Center! Each of you are here for your own personal reasons. My goal as Fitness Director is to educate and motivate you to lead a healthier life style. The term I use is preventive medicine. I would also like to mention that there is no miracle pill, drug or diet for physical fitness. In order for you to become physically fit, you must make a strong commitment to exercise regularly at the proper intensity for the appropriately amount of time. An excellent means by which you can focus on your needs is to set realistic and obtainable goals.

CARDIOVASCULAR EXERCISEThe most important component of physical fitness is cardiovascular exercise. Cardiovascular is often referred to as aerobic fitness. As your cardiovascular fitness improves, not only will your heart, lung and blood vessels improve, but your exercising muscles will improve as well. By staying cardiovascular fit throughout life, you can slow down the aging process as well.

There are three key components to cardiovascular training. These are:1. Intensity: 60%-85% of your predicted maximum heart rate2. Duration: 20-60 minutes3. Frequency: 3-5 times a week

TRAINING TIPS FOR INCREASING CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE• Always warm up, stretch and cool down.• Your cardio workouts should be 20-40 minutes at a training heart rate. Intensity (70%-80%) 3-5 times per week.• Always progress up to this level.

TRAINING TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE WEIGHT MANAGEMENT• Your cardiovascular workouts should be 30-60 minutes at a training heart rate intensity (60%-70%) 3-5 times per week.• Participate in a strength training program.• Modify your dietary intake.• Meet with a registered dietician to assist you with modifying your dietary habits.

Several years ago, I learned about a wonderful program called: Take Stock In Children. Disadvantaged children in middle and high school are identified and offered two years of college tuition through scholarships, if they agree to maintain good grades, stay away from drugs and alcohol, and meet with a volunteer mentor once a week or so, at their school. We help the students overcome any barriers in their lives in an effort to keep them on the path to graduation and to set a positive course for life.

I’ve been a mentor for two years and find it to be an extremely rewarding experience. You need to be genuinely interested in your mentee, a good listener, and able to encourage and handle the issues that they deal within their, sometimes, complicated lives. If you would like to interact with a student, check out the program at www.takestockinchildren.org. They need volunteers!!

  • We have a fantastic new design on our new exciting golf course. All the holes have redesigned green complexes. When the course opens your short game will need to be sharp to score. There are new contours and new grass. The greens will be hard and difficult to stop the ball, but challenging and really fun.

There are a few ways to play the short shots. Use your lofted wedges, pitch and run, or putt. This brings me to the wedges. It’s very important to use the proper loft and bounce on your wedges that work for you. Most companies make a variety of lofts and bounce on their wedge lines. Two of my favorites are Callaway Mac Daddy and Titlest Vokey design.

We will be having several demo days for you all to try the new wedges available to improve your game. We also will have some clinics to demonstrate and explain how to play our course. The short game is at least 50-60% of your score. Looking forward to the season and helping you to sharpen up your short games.

The tennis schedule for the 2016/17 calendar is filled with the following exciting activities and events.

Master Tennis Demonstration followed by member play. This is a relatively new sport. Master tennis will be played on our existing clay courts; however, the court is much smaller than a regular size tennis court. The ball is pressure less, lighter and slower than a regular tennis ball. A smaller (25”) lighter racquet is used. Master Tennis is a great sport for beginners learning to play and for anyone that has had injuries and/or mobility issues. The dates of the demonstration and open play will be announced in November.

Pickleball will return this season after a very successful introduction last year. Pickleball is played on a badminton size court with a wiffle ball and paddles. The game is easy to learn, not taxing on the body and very social. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 16th from 10:30-11:30.

Men’s Tennis Night is an evening of social tennis, including a great workout followed by pizza, soft drinks and beer. The first Men’s Night is scheduled for Monday, November 14th at 6:00 pm. If you are interested, please sign up in the Tennis Pro-Shop.

Weekly Ongoing Activities throughout the season: Tuesday Men’s Mixer 8:30 am Wednesday Women’s Mixer 10:00 am **-see below Thursday Men’s Mixer 8:30 am Friday Women’s Tennis League 10:00 am Saturday Men’s Mixer 8:30 am

TENNIS TIPThe Serve: The most likely cause of an erratic tennis serve is an inconsistent ball toss. If you cannot place the toss consistently in the hitting zone, your serve will suffer. What often happens is that the fingers do not open smoothly as you release the ball.

To solve this problem, think of your fingers as a clamp. All fingers must open at the same time to create equal pressure and no spin when tossing the ball. This will

    ensure an accurate, controlled toss.

BRAGGING RIGHTSBRAGGING RIGHTSGranddaughter of Sally & Lenny Popowitz

“Alexa Popowitz” - the proud granddaughter of Delaire Country Club members - Sally and Lenny Popowitz - is a sophomore at Georgetown University who resides with her parents here in Boca Raton, Florida. Alexa was recently named the Big East Freshman of the Year and was also selected to the Big East second team.

She was the highest freshman finisher at the Big East Championship, placing seventh, and the Hoyas finished second to Seton Hall.

Alexa Popowitz, who was a Sun Sentinel All-County first team selection at Saint Andrew’s School, had five top-20 finishes in nine tournaments for Georgetown and a stroke average of 77.6. Her best finish was a fifth at the Hoye Invitational.

Sally and Lenny are so proud of her and we all very much look forward to watching her “practice at Delaire” on our new golf course this year!

Many of us have had the pleasure of watching our golf course throughout the renovation process over the past few months. Seeing it go from piles of dirt to beautiful fairways, greens and bunkers has been wonderful. As we move from summer into season, all of our returning members will be welcomed back with open arms. I am

very excited about getting out onto our new course when it opens and know you all will be as well. With so many activities that will kick off our new season, I want to make sure that your calendars are marked for Delaire’s 2017 Play for P.I.N.K. events scheduled for February 15th through February 17th. With lots of fun activities planned, such as Golf, Tennis, Canasta and Mah Jongg, you don’t want to miss it. Packets with all of the specifics will be circulated soon. As always, Delaire welcomes and needs your participation for this outstanding fundraiser! Please contact Dana Plagens at 440-317-6151 or [email protected] for information about how you can get involved.

With so much new GREEN here at Delaire -please don’t forget about P.I.N.K.

One of the things that we are doing to try to make the Delaire Website more useful to our members is by periodically adding new features to the Members side of the site. This issue,

I would like to highlight the new features Delaire Yellow Pages feature which can be found under the “My Club” drop down menu (see the visual below) you will see the “Delaire Yellow Pages” option.

The Delaire Yellow Pages is kind of like a Delaire specific version of “Angie’s List”. It is a place where members can share information and recommendations for just about any service provider or restaurant that you would like, including doctors, dentists, landscapers, gardeners, pool maintenance companies, painters, etc.

By clicking on the Delaire Yellow pages option on the drop down menu, the Delaire Yellow Pages (visual below) will appear. On this page you have either the option to “Add a New Listing” or to “search” for a listing. Both are very straight forward. In the “search” example below, the search is by “category” (although it could have been by the “Business Name”, the “Member Name” or by a “Keyword”). The category I have selected is “Medical”, and the result is a link to “Medical Associates” (the only medical practice currently in the system). Clicking on Medical Associates, brings up the details about Medical Associates

Entering data into the Yellow Pages, is equally easy. From the first Member Yellow Pages page, click on the “Add New Listing” option and the Member Yellow Pages Listing Edit appears. To add a new Business, just fill in the blanks with the appropriate information, add any keywords that you like, and click on the SAVE INFORMATION button at the bottom of the page (not shown in this visual) and you have added a new listing and helped your Delaire friends and neighbors.

Make sure that you visit Delaire’s new website: www.delaire.org

Members Only Username is your member number Password is your last name

The site has been greatly improved, and a lot of time and hard work has gone into make this both something to be proud of and a tool to keep you informed abou the community you live in. Make sure that you visit all areas on the site, and give your welcomed feedback and suggestions to Liz Shaw in the Delaire Office.

    Glenn MatusikExecutive Chef

As we approach the upcoming season, I would like to take this opportunity to express my deepest gratitude to the Delaire community for allowing me to grow both personally and professionally here in my career. This October will be my twentieth year and as I look back at all the progress this club has made, I am very proud to be a part of the Delaire team.

I would also like to tell you a little about my staff and let you know about some things we are working on for next season. For those of you that knew Yovani, one of my sous chefs since March of 2007, he recently resigned to fulfill his dream of opening a produce market in Delray. I am in the process of searching for a replacement and will introduce him or her to you when the position is filled. Brandon Smith, who has worked with me for the past five years, has decided to relocate to Tampa to be closer to his son. Brandon is a talented culinarian who will be greatly missed, and I am sure he will prosper in any endeavor he chooses. I have also hired a new pastry chef who comes highly recommended by my colleagues. Sireena has an impressive background and is very experienced in the club setting. Please help me welcome her here to Delaire as you see her throughout the club.

One of the new things that we are doing this season is to have more Hors D’Oeuvres Nights on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. We offered two last season and they were very well received. This night will focus more on small, elegant plates and passing items along with some stations. If you have not been to one yet, check it out…the format invites a great social atmosphere and the food will be wonderful.

Another event that I am excited about is going to be called “Taste of Delaire” on Friday, March 24, 2017. As most of you have been to our Chefs on Parade evenings where I highlight my staff’s talent, this new event will be a sit down version of that derived from Delray’s annual “Savor the Avenue”. I will have five teams, each with their own different menu; menus will be available six weeks prior to the event and you will make your reservation based on the menu you like best. A butlered hors d’oeuvres and cocktail hour in the bar will kick off the evening, with dinner seating on five long royal tables on the back cart path overlooking the new golf course. Wine will be served with each course.

On a last note, one of the most difficult challenges we are facing is the membership’s cooperation on reservation times. I understand we are a social club and everybody wants to come in at 6:30, however when everyone sits

together at almost the same time it becomes very difficult to achieve good service. We can do so much more as professionals in both menu creations and fine service if the evening is more spread out. For example, if you would like to come in at seven and spend a half hour at the bar before being seated, then your reservation time should be made for seven thirty. With that said I ask for everyone’s cooperation in helping us with respect to your reservation times which in turn will create a better dining experience for all.

My staff and I are here for all of you and we aim to please. If you have any special request or dietary needs, please feel free to bring them to me or one of my sous chefs. I am excited about the upcoming season and look forward to serving you for many years to come.

They say behind every great man, there is a great woman. At Delaire, we are fortunate because behind Mr. Trent Squire, our great General Manager since October of 2007, there are six great women who not only help make Trent’s life better, but make each of our lives so much easier. And l ike much of the Delaire staff, most of them have been here a long time.

    From left to right:

Liz Shaw, who joined Delaire in 2005 after migrating south from Alexandria, VA, is the Executive Coordinator, and the proud parent of one dog and three cats (she would have more, but her fiancé won’t let her have more). In addition to all the things that Liz does to support Trent and all the committees, probably the most important thing to know about Liz is that she became engaged last December, and will be married this October.

Neka Martin, our Social Events and Catering Director, joined Delaire in 2015 after 3 years as the catering manager at The Club at Admirals Cove in Jupiter. Neka’s husband is the Catering Manager at Eau, a five diamond resort in Palm Beach, and it is through his association with Trent that were able to find Neka. Although Neka has no children, she has plans.

Linda Rodgers, our Controller, has been at Delaire since 1994. Linda is married, grew up in Ocean City, MD, and goes back every year to see her family. Prior to joining Delaire, Linda worked at Boca West and in the hotel/restaurant industry.

Robyn Bradshaw joined Delaire as our Accounts Receivable Manager in 2002 and, if you have not seen pictures of them in her office, she has three Shih Tzu dogs (Teddy, Toby and Brooklyn). Can you guess where Robyn is from?

Rae Lee Ripley joined Delaire as our Accounts Payable Manager in 2014. Prior to joining us at Delaire, Rae Lee worked in the accounting department of Wycliffe Country Club. Rae Lee is single and, since she is from Mattapoisett, MA, she is a big Tom Brady fan.

This month’s featured employee is Nancy Gaytan. Nancy works both as part of the administrative staff and, when needed, continues to work in the dining room with the food and beverage staff. As our Receptionist and Front Desk Manager, not only does Nancy help each of us with many things, she has the very important responsibility of being the first point of contact to many to most of our visitors and potential members.
