2014-Present Vice Provost for Strategic Planning, Performance & Accountability, University of South Florida

Responsibilities include providing guidance and oversight for the Offices of Decision Support; and Institutional Effectiveness, Academic Planning and Review in working with stakeholders including the Florida Board of Governors’ staff, the USF Board of Trustees, Vice Presidents, and System Regional Chancellors, the Office of Financial Planning & Analysis, Vice Provosts, College Deans, Department Chairs, Faculty including the USF Faculty Senate, Staff and Sudents.to move forward USF’s strategic plan, taking into account performance accountability annual work plans, audit and compliance, policies, contracts and MOUs.

As Chair of the University of South Florida’s Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders, which houses four degree programs - a B.A., with three distinct concentrations (Language-Speech-Hearing Sciences, Interpreter Training for the Deaf & Deaf Studies), two externally accredited and nationally ranked professional graduate programs, the M.S., in Speech-Language Pathology (#45-US News & World Report) and the Doctor of Audiology (#12-US News & World Report), and a Ph.D. program, I provide leadership and oversight for 35 full-time faculty members, 5 staff, and in Fall 2013, over 200 graduate and 400 undergraduate students. Responsibilities include:

Departmental Governance - strategic planning, implementation, and accountably; delegation of responsibilities; conducting faculty and executive committee meetings; and, appointment of standing and ad hoc committees.

Academic Program Administration - curriculum development; course scheduling; preparation of annual and 8-year re-accreditation reports; monitoring of student-learning outcomes; and, preparation of self-studies of degree programs.

Faculty Affairs - recruitment & retention; assignment of duties; monitoring of activities; provision of support for professional development in teaching; support and facilitation of research programs; evaluation of performance; oversight of tenure and/or promotion processes; merit pay distribution; conflict resolution; and, fostering of a positive morale.

Student Affairs - monitoring of student records in relation to national and state certification and licensure requirements and university degree requirements; co-ordination of advising; mitigation of academic grievances; and, development of programs supporting student success.

Staff Management – recruitment; assignment of duties; monitoring & evaluation of performance; and, supporting a positive work environment.

College/University/Community Liaison - reporting to the Dean; participating in College meetings and committees; facilitating communication between the Dean, other university administration and the CSD faculty, staff, and students; representing Department at relevant

Resources & Budgets - oversee Departmental equipment & facilities, including clinics, laboratories, classrooms and offices; annual preparation of auxiliary budgets; diversification of revenue streams; ongoing oversight of revenues and expenditures in all budget categories; engaging in fundraising to support Departmental strategic priorities; and, maintenance of sound management of all available resources.

2008-2010 Special Assistant to the Dean, College of Behavioral & Community

Sciences; University of South Florida

In the Special Assistant’s role, my primary duty was to oversee the development of the Faculty Governance structure and written document for the newly formed College of Behavioral & Community Sciences. The faculty governance development process began in July 2009 and was ratified by the CBCS faculty in November 2009. In addition, I prepared reports as requested by the Dean and served as a liaison between the faculty members from five units which were formerly housed in the College of Arts & Sciences, and the Dean of our newly formed College. 2000-2002 University of South Florida Graduate Council, Chair of the Curriculum

I co-ordinated the activities of the sub-committee in its responsibilities for the review processes for new and revised course proposals and program proposals for consideration by the full Graduate Council.

1998-2001 Audiology Graduate Program Director, Department of Communication 1994-1996 Sciences & Disorders, University of South Florida I was responsible for co-ordination of Audiology program curriculum monitoring and development and oversight of academic advising. I participated in the management of clinical activities, facilities, and equipment, and served as a member of the Department’s Executive Committee.

In this role, I served as the representative to the Department of Psychology’s Experimental Psychology division, providing oversight to the Inter-disciplinary Ph.D. program between our two departments. In addition, I was responsible for other Ph.D. related activities within CSD, including the development and preparation of the program proposal for a separate Ph.D. degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders, which was approved at all levels for implementation in 2002. I also served as a member of the departmental Executive Committee.
