Have you fallen into a trap at election time? Are you tired of all the political mumbo-jumbo prior to elections yet finding these

same factors influencing your decision year in and year out? Even independent voters fall victim as they rarely go outside the

status quo in making that important swing vote. Albert Einstein once defined Insanity as doing the same thing over and over

again and expecting different results. Guilty? Consider these factors before voting next week:

11.. TThheeMMeeddiiaa ffaaccttoorr..a. Avoid Media Influence: Depending on what you watch or what you read, the media has a strong influence on your opinion.

All press agencies have bias and use these biases liberally, as dictated by their backers. Its a lot like brainwashing, and it

works! Stay away from these half truths and lies. Research on your own and believe only half of what you see or hear.

    b. Use the Internet: You have options other than commercial media giants for information. The internet can be good if youare willing to dig, but remember; blogs include opinions and are not always factual. Dont believe everything you read.

    2. TThheeWWiinn ffaaccttoorr::Dont pick yourcandidate based on who you think has the best chance to win. Some people are obsessed with winning and

cannot stand to lose, even if its with their vote. This is not a poker game. Better to pick who truly represents your views and

lose, then to pick who you think will win and win. In the end, we all lose

    3. TThheeIImmaaggee ffaaccttoorr::The two parties put up who they think can win based on Image. This includes looks, personality, charisma, energy, self

confidence, eloquence, etc. These outward traits do notmake the man/woman. Actions do. Look at the persons track

record. Did they take risks? Did they make an unpopular decision? Are they in the pocket of special interest groups?

Judging by the poor behavior at the debates, its no surprise this nation is in such bad shape.

44.. TThheeBBllaacckk && WWhhiittee ffaaccttoorr::There are thousands of colors yet we all seem to want to take one of two positions on every issue we face. This country has

become very black and white when it comes to political issues. Conservative Liberal; Pro Life Pro Choice; Strict Gun

Control No Gun Control; Republican Democrat.and so on. Dont look at the world from your personal label, be itconservative or liberal, formulating all opinions based on the traditional views of these labels. Its polarizing Americans and

this lack of unity weakens us as a people. It can only get us into trouble. This perspective historically, has resulted in great

human suffering from hard line fascist and communist regimes. Dont be surprised, itcan happen again.

    5. TThheeSSoocciiaall ffaaccttoorr::Closely related to the black and white factor, the social factor represents the influences within your social circles. Influence

from friends, family, co-workers, bosses, classmates, teachers, church groups, clubs, unions etc. These groups will leave you

feeling ostracizedif you dont agree with their views. Before too long, you find yourself commiserating with others from

these groups, speaking against your true values. Who wants to be the odd man or woman out? Most do not, but we should!

Stand proud of your opinion, provided that opinion is truly your own and that youve clearly thought through your views

    before expressing them.

    6. GGoo OOuuttssiiddee tthhee BBooxx::Stop, Think, and Take a few minutes out to search your soul. Who are you? Does the political and social image you portray

truly reflect your heart and soul? Have you shed all of your baggage associated with items 1 5 above? Have you even

tried.ordid that baggage resultin you closing this message back at number 1? If youve made it this far, youre on the righ

track. Be independent. Be free thinking. Search your mind and soul. Find yourself and be proud of what you find. Be

unique. Be different. Thats what makes the world great. Dont be a puppet, a conformist. Question Everything. Challenge

Everything. Only then can you be truly free. Remember, no vote is a wasted vote!
