The rewind shof t(22) must engoge in the centre spool of the cosset te, ond the lower sprocket ofthe t ronsport shqf t (23) should engoge the f i lm perforot ions (see i l lustrot ion 4)Close the cqmero bqck.

IUnlosding the Camers qfter the lqst ExposureRewinding qnd removing fte fi lm. Push the reversing lever (.|5) to the left,f ett ing the rewind knob (21) iump up. Turn the knob in the direct ion of theorrow unti l the I or the O mork reoppeqrs in the f i lm counter window. Thenopen the comero bock, ful ly pul l ouf the rewind knob, ond remove the cossette.
Changing Partly Exposed FilmsWith the VITO C you con olwoys remove o portly exposed film ond chonge itfor onofher one (for instonce to switch over from block-ond-white to colourf i lm) without the need for o dqrkroom.Moke o note of the number of the lost exposed frqme, ond rewind the port ly exposedf i lm into i ts cossette. When relooding this port ly exposed f i lm loter on, proceed osolreody, descr ibed.
As soon os the I oppeors in the f i lm counter window, depress the releose button, ondhold i t down in th is posi t ion. Keep on pul l ing out the ropid winding lever os for os i tw i l l go un t i l the f i lm counter ogc l in ind ico tes the number o f the f rome you no ted be fore .Now let go of the releose, work ' the ropid winding lever once more, qnd you concor ry on shoot ing .

For such t ime exposure (suppor t the comero f i rm ly o rmount i i on o t r ipod) use q cob le re leose wh ich screws in to the socket (B) .

The depth of f ield zone depends on the operlur.e sett ing, gn{ covers thot port

reproduced' on the f i lm wi th occeptoble shorpness. Note thot :

The distonce scole (3) corr ies the fo l lowing red symbols for three-point d istoncesett ings between the distonce f igures:
o :- PORTRAITS - subiect distqnce 4tlcfeet
Y = GROUPS - subiect distonce 11 feet
C = VIEWS - subiect distonce 33 feet.

The ropid winding lever. Af ter every shot pul l out the lever os for os i t wi l l go
(wi th one fu l l s t roke or severql short ones). This tensions the shut ler , odvqnces
the f i lm counter qnd t ronspor ts the f i lm. An ou tomot ic lock prevents o second
operot ion of the !ever before you hove mode qn exposure. Simi lor ly , you -conon ly re leose the shut te r o f te r work ing the rop id w ind ing lever . Th is there forep reven t s doub le exposu res ond b l onk f r omes .

The Seff - f imer
Once you hove set exposure (shut ter speed ond operture) ond the distqnce,qnd tens ioned the shut te r , pu l l down ihe smol l red lever (10) qs fq r qs i f w i l lgo. On pressing the re leose, the exposure now tokes ploce outomot icol ly of tero deloy of obout 10 seconds. You therefore hove t ime to toke your p locequickly in front of the comero. Do not however use the self-t imer with theshutter set lo B.
Synchronized Flash Shofs
Smol l l ight-weight f losh guns con be mounted in the occessory shoe on top oflhe comero . Lorger guns or the lomp ho lders o f e led t ron ic f losh guns oregenerol ly mounted to one s ide of the cqmero wi th o specio l brocket . The f loshcoble completes the electnic c i rcui t between the f losh uni t ond the shut ter ; i tp lugs into the f losh socket (9) on ihe shut ter .
The Pronto shutter is only X-synchronised. For f losh shots (wi th or wi thout the
se l f - t imer ) you must there fore use on ly the shut te r speeds shown in the tob le
oppos i te .
