Am on g the ma nysplendid apa rt me nt s the Castle con ta in s, th e most curious is th at called the " oak chamber,1" ceiled and wainscotedwith richly-carved oak, in com par tme nts, contai ning scri ptura l devices, and lighted wi th a pointed win dow ofstained glass. In t he draw ing-ro om, amo ng other valuable paint ings, there is a small altar-piece painted byAlb ert li ur er , said to have bee n orig inal ly in the orato ry of Ma ry Qu ee n of Scot s, at Holy roo d Ho use.
