AxCent combines the capabilities of four of the most widely-used turbomachinery geometry codes, CCAD ® and AXCAD ® , as well as COMIG ® and TAXIG . Pow- erful features are available for axial, mixed-flow and radial geometries and these can be combined to design almost any single or multistage turbomachine that can be conceived. Blading features, from the simplest to the most complex, are handled with ease. A partial list of capabilities includes • Specication of 3D blades by stacking of 2D cross sections - Standard parametric cross sections are included for both axial compres- sors (DCA, MCA, NACA), and tur- bines (Pritchard, improved Pritchard) as well as arbitrary blade cross sec- tions. Spanwise graphical editing of cross sections can be performed. - Stacking is possible on the leading edge, CG and trailing edge. The stacking curve can be radial or can be curved in either the meridi- onal direction (bowing) or tangential direction (tilt). The entire blade stack can be restaggered. • Ruled element with option to have rulings independent from leading and trailing edges • Bowed or sculpted element with arbi- trary number of mid-span sections • Radial impellers • Flow cuts and radial trims • 2D impellers • Swept leading and trailing edges • Multiple, offset and independent splitter blades • Fillets with constant or variable radius and aspect ratio • Entire stage or multiple stages in one le • Design with blade angle (β) or wrap angle (θ) • Calculate and preserve throat • Calculate solids passing • Quasi-3D ow analysis In addition to geometry, AxCent includes several options for real-time interactive flow analysis. Concepts NREC’s inviscid streamline curvature solver has become the industry stan- dard for centrifugal pumps and compressors. Axisymmetric throughflow using industry standard loss and devia- tion models for compressors and tur- bines is available, as is the ability to substitute user-defined loss models and custom throughflow solvers. A powerful, rapid 2D CFD-based blade-to-blade solver can be used to quickly evaluate 2D cross sections. Interface to Other Programs AxCent supports full interoperability with Pushbutton CFD ® , AXISTRESS , and STRESSPREP (provides interface for FEA analysis in ANSYS ® , COSMOS , Abaqus ® , and NASTRAN ® ). An interface to CTAADS for design of cooled turbine blades is included. AxCent supports IGES files, plus output and input for Concepts NREC 5-axis machining software MAX-5 , MAX-AB and MAX-SI ; seamless interface to Fluent, the most widely- used CFD software; and interfaces to pass geometry to Numeca and CFX TurboGrid. Full-featured optimi- zation and robust design capabilities with iSIGHT software from Engineous Software, Inc. is provided. Geometry transfer to and from major CAD sys- tems is supported. User-Friendly Features Step-by-step tutorials and extensive context-sensitive help make AxCent easy to learn and use. Three-dimensional geometry design and rapid interactive ow analysis for all classes of axial and radial turbomachinery

    NEW PRODUCT!!

  • Mature and Robust Turbomachinery Geometry Generation CodeAxCent, and its predecessors, has been continuously developed and improved with a new version released annually since 1983. There are over 150 active AxCent licenses used worldwide making it the most mature and robust turbomachinery geom-etry software on the market today. Our improvement process is driven by our cus-tomers. Each year the most requested fea-tures from our user base are incorporated into the latest AxCent release.

Software SupportOur support network includes staff in North America, Europe, China, Japan and Korea. Each of our support groups includes experi-enced turbomachinery designers. Our soft-ware maintenance plan, Agile Products Support, or APS, includes traditional soft-ware upgrades and a help line. APS also includes the unique feature of design reviews by our experienced staff of turbomachinery engineers and complimen-tary attendance at our world-renowned turbomachinery courses.

Direct Integration with Meanline ProgramsA designer can run meanline programs, such as AXIAL, COMPAL and PUMPAL, side-by-side with AxCent. AxCent can be started automatically from within AXIAL, COMPAL or PUMPAL and will start with the relevant meanline geometry already set. In addition, changes in AxCent that affect meanline design can, at the user’s option, automatically cause the meanline analysis to be rerun and performance maps regenerated.
