Three easy dishcloths
These three knitted dishcloths have lots of texture for scrubbing dishes, and they are easy and fast to knit.

cast on, knit, purl, bind off
~8 x 8 inches (20 x 20 cm)
• yarn: Lily Sugar ‘n Cream (35g per dishcloth ~ 1/2 ball of yarn) in colors Tea Rose, Seabreeze & Beach Glass, or alternative worsted weight 100% cotton yarn
• needles: 4.00 mm (US size 6)• darning needle• stitch markers (optional)
Approximately 20 sts & 32 rows over4 inches (10 cm) in pattern
Gauge is not that important for something like dishcloths, unless you really care about the size

For a neater edge, slip the first stitchof every row as if to knit, except for the first row and the bindoff row

Tip: On the RS, the single purl stitch in the repeat moves 1 to the right, andon the WS, the single knit stitch in the repeat moves 1 to the left.
Markers: Place markers on the first row of the diagonal pattern like this: after the first 5 border stitches, before the last 5 border stitches, and between each repeat of 6 stitches.

Tip: For seed stitch you need to knit the purls and purl the knits.

Tip: Rows 12 is stockinette stitch with a garter border. Rows 914 is a modified Andalusian stitch with a stockinette and a garter border. The Modified Andalusian stitch is basically a stockinette where every 3rd row alternates between knit and purl stitches, but it is worked differently depending on whether you are on the right side or the wrong side.
Markers: Place markers on the first row of the stockinette pattern like this: after the first 5 garter border stitches and before the last 5 stitches. Place additional markers on the first row of the modified Andalusian pattern (row9) like this: after the 5 stockinette stitches and before the last 4 stockinette stitches.
