How did the Swiss Franc unpegging impact your retirement plans? What about the Greek election or oil price halving? Shocks like these to the financial markets have pushed yields down and

deficits up. Therefore companies are, more than ever, looking for ways to

manage down their pensions risks.

Retirement liabilities are long-term in nature, but are you thinking long-

term about the types of assets you invest in? For example, what are the

prospects for returns on oil & gas companies when environmental change

and carbon-target legislation impact on their industries over the next

decade or two?

Sustainable strategies already exist to transfer pension risk away from

the company over time, and are already being implemented by some

companies in the UK and overseas.

Speakers at LCP’s Global Pensions Forum in 2015 will be sharing their

experiences of dealing with risk, including:

a case study on how one company set about reducing and removing its

pension risk;

a look at specific risk mitigation solutions, from risk transfer to changing

benefits; and

a look at what long-term risks companies are going to have to deal with

and what they can do now to prepare.

LCP’s annual Global Pensions Forum provides an unparalleled opportunity

to hear lessons learnt from around the world, from speakers from our

international network of partner firms, and from companies that are

currently improving and enhancing their retirement benefits.

Session 1 - Strategic risk management around the world 09:00 - 10:50

Chairman’s welcome and introductions

The Interserve story Case study: Setting and implementing a strategy to reduce and

remove risk

Risk mitigation solutions from around the world

From governments changing the rules, to markets creating

havoc, our international speakers will look at the risks

companies should be focusing on, and how you can manage

those risks, including the Swiss currency risks and effects of

the Eurozone bailout.

Demystifying longevity risk We will take a look at the insurance solutions for removing

longevity risks and consider which may be the most appropriate

and cost effective for companies and pension schemes to use,

including buy in, buy out and longevity hedging.

Coffee break 10:50 - 11:10

Session 2 - Making pensions sustainable in the long-term 11:10 - 12:45

Legislating for the future – finding the positive side

We will take a look at how companies are approaching the new

requirements of IORP II and the UK Corporate Governance Code

and show how to make the most of the increase in governance.

Sustainability – why should a pension fund care?

We’ll explore what “sustainability” truly means and what

companies can do now. Our panel of experts will look at what

you can do to protect your retirement plans against resource

and environmental risks. We will discuss ways in which thinking

about this now will save money and reduce risk over 20 years.

Freedom & Flexibility: What can the UK learn from global experience?

We will look at how the UK landscape is evolving and what

companies are doing in response to all the recent freedoms

and legislative changes. We will look at lessons that can be

learned from other countries.
