• Make daily to-do lists and use Outlook Calendar
• Delegate, delegate, delegate• Don’t skip lunch breaks• Set goals• Don’t be a YES man/woman
5 Effective Methods to Handle Time Management
Daily To Do Lists• List each activity (highest to lowest priority) on a hand-written list or using Sticky Notes (Microsoft
app)• Cross through each activity, once complete or delete in Sticky Notes• Throughout the day, reprioritize as needed, when new items are added or priority order needs to
change (emergencies come up)!
Use of StickiesVariety of colors (purple, yellow, green, pink, blue and gray)
Brings up app automatically when you start up your computer (once you pin to the tray)
Remains in your tray until you delete the note
Can add/delete notes
Outlook Calendar(s) Create your own personal calendar
Create calendars for conference rooms
Create calendars for staff birthdays
Create calendars for auditor room
Create calendars for departmental events (luncheons, meetings, etc)
Delegating• Delegating may seem hard at first, but the more you
delegate the more time you save
• Delegating releases you to do the MOST IMPORTANT tasks that require your time and energy
• Trust your employees! They are intelligent, educated, responsible and are very capable of handling the tasks you assign! (otherwise they would not be working for you, correct?)

Rick Warren, Pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California says:
“Effective people figure out what’s essential in life and what’s trivial, and they spend more time doing the ESSENTIAL things and less time doing the TRIVIAL things. You can’t eliminate all the trivia in your life, but you can reduce it.”

• Goals give your life and the way you spend your time, direction• Make sure the goals you set are measurable, specific, realistic and most of all – achievable• The most optimum goals will cause you to “stretch” but not “break” as you strive for
achievement• Goals can give creative people a much-needed sense of direction
SET GOALS
Don’t be a YES man/woman

“NO” is such a small word
Focus on your goals
Block Time for important, but often unscheduled priorities such as family and friends
1st you must be convinced that you and your priorities are important
Once you are convinced your priorities are important, then saying “no” to the unimportant in life gets easier.
