Urban Chic Style
The goal of my tiny house was to create an open, multi-purpose environment for a college- graduate wanting to save money and live an environmentally friendly lifestyle. Although small in size, this house has a lot to offer. The use of multi-purpose elements within the home was my biggest concern when designing. Overall, I have designed a layout that is simple, very functional, and easy to maneuver through. I decided to do something a little different by placing my kitchen in the front of the home. In doing this I created a very open and inviting space. Instead of using a ladder in order to conserve space, I created a staircase that acts as storage for small items as well as functioning as an aesthetically pleasing accent wall in the living room. I used sliding doors on the closet and the bathroom maximize the space in the hallway and I placed the loft in the center of the house so both the kitchen and the living space have tall ceilings allowing in plenty of light to truly open up the space.
