MissionBuild a permanent cadre of reviewers available, once trained, to help states around the nation to review Social Studies instructional material for: Factual errors Imbalances in presentation of materials Omissions in material Editorial opinions disguised as facts PC-themed content

The Process1. To start the process, write to
[email protected]. Recruitment for three classes 2016 B/C/D;
300-500 volunteers by end of 20163. Complete TNT survey; conduct phone inter-
view with TNT leadership4. You do not need to have social studies de-
grees to be a reviewer5. Training to be done online, conference calls
and with read files6. Starting in April, July & Oct 2016; goal is to have 7-11 review teams available year-round7. Once "certified" every reviewer "sits alert" for
6 weeks a year8 365 days a year coverage for parents, teach-
ers or concerned citizens to submit textbooks,supplemental material, instructional material
9. Full report provided at no cost to submitter.

Examples of TTT Findings Results: Over 1,500 findings; Over 60% errors
resulted in content removal or corrections. US as a Democracy vs Constitutional Republic
with a “living, growing” Constitution Climate change – only one side of issue presented Denigration or omission of key historical figures No mention of Islam when discussing 9/11 Praise for Gorbachev for bringing down wall;
Reagan’s role not mentioned Russia won the space race and no mention of Neil
Armstrong’s walk on the moon Cause of Great Depression was unequal distribu-
tion of wealth On-line e-Mentors provided to 11 yr. olds through
National Geographic online Weaknesses of Electoral College but no mention of
the strengths Revisionism regarding the founding of the State of
Israel and the Arab-Israeli Conflict Soft peddling history & tenets of Islam re: Moham-
med, Crusades, jihad, sharia; lauding CAIR without mentioning ties to Hamas & Muslim Brotherhood

How It Works Four-person Review Teams working in pairs Basecamp.com online collaborative tool Training volunteers; mock review current textbooks Recruited subject matter experts (SME) to critique Team collaborates on preliminary report “Review the Reviewers” by SME’s Teams will review submitted material; textbooks 3-
4 weeks; instructional/supplemental material less time
Compile final reports Material reviewed will be evaluated as “Good”,
“Acceptable”, “Poor”, Unacceptable” Provide full report to submitter; assist with defend-
ing the material with school officials Will engage with publishers of material on behalf of
submitter ACT! For America Education will maintain a repos-
itory of all reviews & submitted materials as a re- source for others
