Wisconsin Alzheimer’s DiseAse reseArch center

Alzheimer’s disease is an irreversible, progressive brain disease that slowly destroys memory and thinking skills, and eventually even the ability to carry out the simplest tasks. It takes away our loved ones long before they die. There are few treatments and no cure.

One in three seniors will die with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. It is the sixth leading cause of death in this country. The only way to change this trajectory is to fund more research.

The Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center is one of only 27 competitively funded centers in the country. Its mission is to improve the lives of people affected by Alzheimer’s disease by facilitating innovative science that targets the prevention and treatment of the disease. The

Center is conducting groundbreaking work in the imaging of the disease years before symptoms begin, along

with basic science work on the mechanisms of damage to the brain as well as prevention and treatment trials.

Federal funding is the foundation of our ability to fght this devastating disease, but it won’t be

enough. Your support of An Affair to Remember will help our research efforts to fnd treatments and a

cure. Together we will fnd answers faster and change the health of the next generation.
