Locating the TOCThe Table of Contents area can be found within the Curriculum drop-down menu.

Adding a New TOC

To create a new Table of Contents click on 'New Table of Contents' towards the top right of the screen.

1. Name the new Table of Contents.2. Click on 'Change Group' to assign the TOC to a department.

Select optional settings, including locking the TOC. Click Save toward the top right of the screen to move forward.

Adding TOC Sections

SubSections can be added to the TOC.

Name and add a description to the Section. Save.

Assessment Instruments can be linked to the TOC as can Page Layout Frames.

Adding Frames to TOCsFrames can be added to Table of Contents sections in order to communicate information and instructions to users of theTOC.

When adding or editing a Table of Contents frames can be added to a section.

Within 'Edit Section' click on the 'Add Frame' button.

Give the Frame an optional heading (1), add an optional question (2) and optional instructions (3).

Resources/ArtifactsYou may also with to add a resource/artifact to the Frame. To do this you must first Save the Frame that you have beenworkin on.

After saving and 'Edit' button will appear. Clicking this will enable you to an a resource/artifact.

FormsNote that toward the bottom of the edit page you can also choose to add optional forms from the dropdown list available.

OverviewIn order for users to create their own portfolios, you must supply a customizable Table of Contents (TOC). Using acustomized TOC, users can add, delete, name, and move pages to create their own personal portfolio collection. Tocreate a customizable TOC, use the Curriculum menu to select Tables of Contents.

How to Create a Customizable Table of ContentsOn the Tables of Contents screen, click the New Table of Contents button.

1. Name the TOC "Customizable Table of Contents".2. Click the Choose Group button to select the Department(s) that this TOC will be available to.

In the Sources column, select the Group that you want to add this TOC to.

Select the Department.

Once you have selected the Department(s) for this TOC, click Done.

1. Choose the Subsection Title Appearance type - "Shown as max 27 characters" or "Shown as full text".2. Click Save.

NOTE: When creating Customizable Tables of Contents for student use, it is a good idea to provide acustomizable form of the TOC using each of the two available Subsection Formats. Students can then choosewhich format they prefer for their personal subsection appearance.

You only need to include a Home section, which is automatically generated. Click Save.

OverviewNew in eP4, all portfolios, while editing, are displayed in a standardized format, with the table contents displayed on theleft hand side. When creating a table of contents, the administrator has the option to select how they would like theTable of Contents subsections to appear when editing the portfolio.

Table of Contents SettingsOnce you have created a Table of Contents, expand the settings section on the Edit Table of Contents screen.

Here you can select whether you would like subsection titles to show only a maximum of 27 characters or as full text.
