From the Pastor

Dear Parishioners,

There are people we may know whose lives are all about appearance. They depend on making a good

show on the outside for others to see to win favor. It is difficult for them to be authentic because they rely

on themselves not on God. Our Lord calls us to be authentic in our relationship with God and with our

neighbor. The devil, or the deceiver, wants us to put up a front or to wear a mask like putting on a show

for others to see. When we are confused about what we should do, let us look to Our Lord and pray,

asking Jesus to guide us, to be true in living our faith in Him.

The Season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday until the Mass of the Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday. It is

a season whereby we are given the opportunity to contemplate our life journey toward Easter of eternal

life. I ask you to seriously consider how you enter into this holy season of conversion, not as an observer

or a bystander or someone going through the motions. Rather I hope that you enter acknowledging your

dependence on God, a sinner in need of conversion, a pilgrim on a journey toward Christ. Lent is a special

time of grace to show justice and faithfulness, to practice mercy and forgiveness toward others. Some of

the helps available are daily Mass, the availability of the Sacrament of Penance, and Lenten devotions such

as the Stations of the Cross. Please ask the Holy Spirit to guide you on your journey!

Sincerely yours in Christ,Fr. Michael Guadagnoli

P. Michael Guadagnoli
