It’s looking like we’re in for a hot summer, so if you haven’t done so yet, now is the time to assemble your heat-blasting comfort kit for Saturdays. Some ideas: hydrating lip balm, sunscreen, battery-powered or hand fan, bag or block-o-ice, tub for cool water foot bath, water spray bottle, light & breathable clothing, well-ventilated footwear, sun hat, bandana soaked in cool water and worn around the neck, cooler with lots of cold liquids and food, pure Aloe Vera and lotions for dry, ex-posed skin.

Beautiful Booth of the Month

Congratulations to David Duckett of Mill Creek Wood Works, named “Beautiful Booth of the Month” for July. David is a wood-worker who makes door knockers out of old tools and other fun re-claimed things.

Marketing Tip of the Week: Help with Decision Making

When someone is having a hard time deciding whether and what to buy, a few simple questions can help them make a positive decision with-out feeling pressured. Asking about a

simple preference, like color, shape, size or scent can help narrow down the choices. Often when I’ve spent a long time trying to make up my mind about a purchase, I end up go-ing back and buying the first thing that caught my eye. “What was the first piece you noticed?” and “What do you like about it?” can be helpful for someone who has gotten them-selves overwhelmed with choices. You can then help them narrow their vision by offering items that match their preferences.

If you notice some maintenance issues on the Park Blocks, such as up-lifted concrete, perilous tree limbs, broken benches or other things, please write us a note on your enve-lope and we will pass the info on to the City’s park maintenance crew for repairs. Thanks!
