Monkshouse Minis Easter Café

At the end of last term we had our Monkshouse Minis Easter Café where we

invited parents in. Children had to take their parents’ order and then get what they wanted from our ‘café’ before sharing their snack. The children then had an Easter

egg hunt and a picnic lunch with their families. We also did Easter bonnet and Easter basket competitions.

Values

Bryan, Alexandru, Marley, Ronaldas, Jacob, Poppy, Alex, Izzie, Victor, Jayden & Mason.

Pupil of the Week

Arina, Neils, Liam, Jorestas, Isabella, Sophia, Lucas, Titas,

Aryan, Airidas, Lewis & Grace.

Year 3

Last term the whole of year 3 had an amazing time visiting Flag Fen in Peterborough. Our day began with a factual timeline starting from the age of dinosaurs – Alex even held some dinosaur poo! Then, we placed the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age onto the timeline. We even looked at when the Romans invaded onto the timeline and use R-I-B-S to help us remember

the order. Later, we looked at mysterious objects and had to work in teams to place them into the right age. After, we got to explore the grounds and we even got to sit in a Bronze Age boat! Excitingly, we were then able to pretend to be hunters just like in the Stone Age as we pretended to hunt a live deer… Amazingly, we were able to sit inside a

roundhouse, which was fascinating as the roof was made from dried reeds. Then, we had a campfire and story before making a wish by touching the sacred sword! To end our lovely day, we made finger pots just like the ones in prehistoric times.

Easter Tea

Last term’s Easter Tea was a huge success! Thank you for the kind donations of cakes and Easter eggs. As always the hall was full on both days and the performances and Easter bonnets were outstanding.
