• Certifi cation given by an educational institution varies depending on the program designed by these institutions.

• Certifi cation given by a Toon Boom Trainer also varies. Please check Toon Boom’s schedule online.

• For individuals, recommended learning phase is 3 to 4 months prior to attempting to sit for the exam.

• Certifi cation exams are offered at various locations. To register for an exam, contact your local Educational Institution recognized by Toon Boom or contact certifi cation@toonboom.com.

• A list of educational institutions which teachToon Boom software will be given on the Toon Boom web site.

How to Register for an ExamThe following information is required to register for an exam:

• Legal name (from government issued ID)

• Company name or Educational Institution, if applicable.

• Candidates valid email address.A valid email is required during exam registration. Toon Boom requires a valid email to send email to confi rm the mailing address before shipping out the certifi cate or to inform candidates if their certifi cate was returned due to an incorrect mailing address.

Registration Contd.Age Requirements

Age requirements for Toon Boom certifi cation are as follows:• Underage Minors: are children under 13 who may NOT test or receive certifi cation even w/parental

consent.

• Minors: are individuals between 13–17 years of age who may test and receive certifi cation w/parental consent.

• Individuals: 18 years or older are eligible for certifi cation without any age-related restriction.

MinorsDuring the registration process, Minors must agree to their Toon Boom Certifi cation and Confi dentiality Agreement. At that time, online consent forms may be downloaded for signature and submission by the Minors parent or legal guardian. Minor’s certifi cations and fulfi llment packages may only be processed after Toon Boom receives signed Minors consent forms.

Certifi cation ExamsThe main requirement for obtaining Toon Boom Certifi cation is to sit and successfully pass one or more certifi cation exams, submit proof of work and sign the Toon Boom Certifi cation and Confi dentiality Agreement.

What should I expect when I sit the Exam? • Exams are invigilated, timed, and delivered in a secure environment. Most exams last approximately two

hours.

• Candidates must acknowledge and sign the Toon Boom Certifi cations and Confi dentiality Agreement (in the future, it will be online), with a Toon Boom Trainer or with the associated institution. This must be signed prior to sitting any Certifi cation exam. Failure to adhere to this will result in the Candidate not be able to proceed with the exam and a refund will not be provided. Signature of this legal agreement is a requirement of offi cial certifi cation.

• Exams are challenging; making use of simple recall of facts and on–the-job types of problem solving. Questions include multiple-choice single answer, multiple-choice and multiple answers.

• For Professional and Master level certifi cation, candidates must also submit assignments and /or a proof of work and its related source fi les to Toon Boom for evaluation.

• At the completion of the exam, candidates receive a score report broken-down by each exam section and the passing score for the exam.

• Toon Boom does not publish exam passing scores.

How do I schedule Exams?• If you are a student, contact an authorized educational institution in your area or Toon Boom directly at

certifi cation@toonboom.com to register for an exam.

• If you are a working Professional, please contact certifi cation@toonboom.com to register for an exam.

What do I receive after passing the exam?• After a candidate passes all exams required for certifi cation and the required agreements are signed, Toon

Boom will send a Toon Boom Certifi cation certifi cate identifying:

• The candidate’s Toon Boom Career Certifi cation ID

• Valid certifi cation dates

• Allow 3-5 business days for electronic certifi cates and 6-8 weeks from the date the certifi cate was mailed for printed certifi cates.

• Certifi ed candidates are authorized to use the appropriate Toon Boom Career Certifi cation Logos indicating certifi cation status. Prior to use, they must read and acknowledge the Toon Boom Certifi cation Logo Agreement. Logos can be ordered through Toon Boom Educational or Professional Sales Department.

Once a candidate has achieved their certifi cation, the following certifi cation package is sent via email:

Certifi cation expiration is applied to the following profi les:• Associate

• Professional

• Master

Expiration period is based on a major version release.

Logo GuidelinesCertifi ed candidates must sign the Toon Boom Certifi ed Logo Media License Agreement to use certifi cation logos, certifi cates and other collateral as provided and in accordance with the published Logo Guidelines.

Individuals or entities that misuse certifi cation logos, certifi cates and/or other collateral may be subject to penalties up to an including a lifetime ban on all future exams and nullify all previous certifi cations.

Exam Scoring and ViolationsPreliminary Score Report

The score report notifi es candidates that regardless of pass or fail results, an exam score may be revised anytime after testing, if there is evidence of misconduct, scoring inaccuracies, or aberrant response patterns.

Exam ScoringAt the completion of the exam, candidates receive a score report along with a score breakout by exam section and the passing score for the given exam. Toon Boom does not publish exam-passing scores because exam questions and passing scores are subject to change without notice.

What is the required passing score on certifi cation exams?An eighty percent (80%) exam score is required to obtain the certifi cation of choice.

Exam ViolationsDisclosure of exam content and other acts of misconduct are strictly prohibited as described in the Toon Boom Certifi cations and Confi dentiality Agreements.

Retaking ExamsWhat happens if I do not pass?

If you do not pass, you will receive a diagnostic score report that indicates areas for improvement. You may then retake the examination as needed. There is no waiting period and you may take the exams as many times as you wish. You will have to pay a fee for each attempt – re-takes are not free.

Privacy and Confi dentialityConduct

Candidates must take no action to compromise the integrity or confi dentiality of any Toon Boom certifi cation exam or certifi cation program. Prohibited actions are described in the Toon Boom Certifi cations and Confi dentiality Agreements.

Penalties for violating the policy can include up to and including a lifetime ban on all future exams and the nullifi cation of all previous certifi cation.

Confi dentialityAll content, specifi cally questions, answers, assignments and diagrams of the certifi cation exams are the proprietary and confi dential property of Toon Boom. They may not be copied, reproduced, modifi ed, published, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in anyway without the express authorization of Toon Boom.

Candidates who sit Toon Boom exams must agree they have read and will abide by the terms and conditions of the Toon Boom Certifi cations and Confi dentiality Agreement before beginning the certifi cation exam. The agreement applies to all exams. Signing and adhering to this agreement is required to be offi cially certifi ed and to maintain valid certifi cation. Candidates must fi rst accept the terms and conditions of the Toon Boom Certifi cation and Confi dentiality Agreement during the registration process and again prior to testing. Failure to accept the terms of this Agreement will result in a terminated exam and forfeiture of the entire exam fee.
