High School “Quadmester” Calendar
• Due to Covid-19 protocols, all schools and virtual study will adopt a quadmester calendar, in which students study 2 subjects per half-semester (10 weeks)

Important Dates
AttendanceStudents must be in school everyday• 24 hour voicemail available at all schools• Absences - verify with a note or call prior to absence
and upon the student’s return• Absence = phone call home• 15 consecutive absences = demission from school• Planned absence = note ahead of time• Students leaving during the day MUST sign out in
the main office

Student Expectations & Responsibilities
• IRCC asks our office about your attendance when you renew study permit
• Let your parents know that it is common for school to contact students’ custodian and parents
• Get to know and use your school resource- Library and extra-curriculum activities- Guidance counsellors (including GCIS)- Settlement workers
• Planning for your education is critical, consult one of the guidance counsellors / guidance counsellors soon
• If you want to change custodian or homestay, please discuss with your parents, and let your school know
• Start to build relationships with school staffs- Say hi- Be respectful

Student Expectations & Responsibilities
• Regular communication regarding student progress- newsletters, fact sheets, invitations, telephone, letters
• Support - student and school- ensure that the student is attending all classes - attend interviews, presentations, concerts- help student prepare for school (sleep, nutrition)- communicate with parents regularly- monitor student’s progress, check homework, tests etc.- you may request a meeting with the teacher at any time throughout the year- Make sure that students renew and make payments on time

• Immunization- must be up to date and complete - lice, chickenpox must be reported to the School office
• In case of Emergency- maintain correct address & phone# (guardian / home)- provide additional emergency contact - provide special medical history / medication
• Long Term Illness, Allergies, and Medication- Keep TDSB elementary schools peanut free - Inform main office if you carry an EpiPen®
