1) A wide range of accessories comprising of: cable glands, fittings for flexible conduits, blanking plugs, enlargers, reducers and lock units.

2) Threaded cable passage in various Pg and metricthread (in accordance with EN 60423) available, for cable entry devices in accordance with EN 50262,as option located vertically, horizontally or at the front. NPT threads on request.

3) Heavy duty enclosures in die-cast aluminium alloyor self-extinguishing thermoplastic. Surface mounting or bulkhead housings and hoods are available, with or without fixed covers or with mobile protection covers. The enclosures for the use at a voltage of 500Vhave two tabs that prevents the insertion of inserts for the use with 830V. Those for the use with a rated voltage of 830V do not have any tabs and supplementary insulating strips are applied.

4) Metal enclosures powder coated with high resistance to mechanical stress and external agents, Enclosures used for harsh environments are treated with special epoxy powder coating. Certified UL/CSA.

5) Insert in self-extinguishing thermoplastic material reinforced with glass fibers, UL approved, with a limit working temperature from 40°C to + 125°C.

6) Inserts with asymmetric guide rails for preventing incorrect coupling, The inserts have a mechanical duration equal to or over 500 mating/unmating cycles.

7) Inserts manufactured to conform with EN 61984, VDE 0110, VDE 0627, EN 175301-801, UL 1977 standards. They are certified and la- belled with the UL and CSA marks.

8) Special seal gaskets in anti-ageing, oil-resistant and fuel resistant vinyl nitrile elastomer or fluoro elastomer (for use in harsh environments) together with the joints provide an IP66 degree of protection for coupled connectors.

9) Monoblock galvanized steel or stainless steel or self-extinguishing glass filled thermoplastic material locking levers guarantee a perfect closure and sealing.

10) Locking device available in two versions, simple (with one lever) or double (with two levers).

11) Captive insert fastening screws, with anti-loosening flexible wa- sher.

12) Contacts position identified with numbers on both sides of each insert, laser printed or moulded.

13) Contacts in silver or gold-plated copper alloy with connection to the conductors made via captive screws, crimping terminals, spring terminals or screws with incorporated terminal block.

14) Earth terminal with wide contact surface.

15) Stainless steel pegs that facilitate the locking and eliminate da- mages.

16) Captive contact screws, stainless steel wire protector.

(I) Integrated pegs in the casting of the enclosures may become a source of weakness due to the material itself(aluminum alloy) and to corrosion when lockedby the levers made with different materials. In fact the coating applied on the enclosures and on the integratedpegs easily disappears due to the high pressure applied during the locking and unlocking operations. With humidity, water and other liquids present in the industrial environment, the direct contact between metals with different electrochemical potential will cause corrosion, breaking, malfunctions and the losingof the IP protection degree.

Spring clamp termination systems

CAGE CLAMP is a unique, patented, stainless steel clamping mechanism designed to automatically connect solid or stranded wires. Various CAGE CLAMP sizes are available to accommodate wire sizes from 0.08 mm 2 35 mm. Other than stripping the wire, no special wire preparation such as crimps, ferrules or tinning is necessary. Most screwless systems offered by other manufacturers are based on the leaf-spring principle. This type of connection is found in the back of many electrical outlets. Westec cable glands allow therefore the use, the locking and the IP66 / IP69K protection of ribbon cables in the

assembly with waterproof housings and junction boxes or in other applications with same demands.

The special design of the clamping die, of the sealing and of the rubber gasket, ensure the performance of this

product that is waterproof, dustproof and has a high resitance to salt, acid, alkali, alcohol, grease and general

solvents. The use of Westec cable gland for ribbon cables gives an optimal protection of the assembly and

extends the cable life.

Different cable glands are available to fit a range of dimensions of the ribbon cables that goes from 3.8 mm to

5.7 mm of thickess and from 18 mm to 76 mm width.The cable glands for ribbon cable represent a news on the market as no other product with similar

characteristics is currently available. Westec patented this product.

For the applications requiring the connection of ribbon cables to the Heavy Duty Connectors of Westec range,

Power and data interfaces from

The Westec interfaces allow an easy connection of the machine or of the equipment to external devices such as

notebooks, diagnosis units, etc and also offer, in the case of need, a power supply socket for the same devices. The

interfaces are sutable for standard industrial application (STD), for harsh environment application (HE), and for

electromagnetic compatibility application (EMC). Offer a protection degree IP66/IP69K with cover duly locked by its

lever.

Our interfaces are composed of a diecast Aluminium hood/housing with cover of the same series used for Westec heavy duty connectors, that assure the mechanical strength necessary for the industrial application. Are available with one or two closing levers and are composed of a frame that contains a series of modules with the different power sockets or a wide range of data transmission connectors. The data transmission interfaces use a series of couplers that allow the connection with cables already assembled on both sides: any soldering, crimping or any other assembly operation is therefore not necessary for the connection of the external devices through Westec interface system. In our catalogue you can find the most common international power supply sockets and the most used data transmission couplers such as the USB, the RJ45, the D-Sub, etc.A blank frame for the assembly of different kind of connectors or power supply sockets is also available.
