Well, it was great to have sound systems working in both worship spaces this past Sunday. I heard many positive comments about the new system in the sanctuary and I am so thankful that the system installation is complete.

As a church family we had the pleasure of receiving the Wilson family into membership this past Sunday in the 8:45am service. Please welcome Blake and Allie along with their children Briley, Emily and Millie. It is always good to receive new members. See you Sunday,

KIDZQUEST 2019!Kidzquest registration is now open! This is a weekend-long retreat at Epworth by the Sea for children in grades 3-6. The dates are September 20-22, and the cost is $150 per person. To register, bring at least $50 to the church office and let us know your child wants to attend. Space fills up quickly, so don't delay! Deadline for registration is Friday, September 6.

YOUTH ANNOUNCEMENTSThanks to all of the amazing leaders, food prep experts, and awesome students that helped make Ocean Overnight a success!

No UMYF this week because of the holiday weekend. We are looking forward to seeing everyone again at Youth Band and Bible Study on Wednesday, September 4 and UMYF on September 8.

If you would like to join Youth Council please email us ([email protected] & [email protected]) and we can send you an application (due September 8th).

CNS REMINDERYou can make reservations two ways, online or you can call the church office. PLEASE NOTE: The online reservation form cuts off at 5pm on Mondays.

VASHTI MINISTRYWe will be having another yoga class for the female Vashti students at 4pm Thursday, September 5th. Church members are welcome to join, please email ([email protected]) if you are interested OR have any other ideas of what you would like to share with the Vashti students.

VEGGIE TALES CONTINUEDid you know that TFUMC is starting a vegetable garden to resource the community and Thomas County Food Bank with fresh, organic produce? If you're interested in being a part of this exciting project, mark your calendars for the work day on Saturday, September 14. This day will include tilling the lot on Madison St. and cleaning debris. Please contact Drew West if you have any questions: [email protected]

FOOD BANK MINISTRYThe Food Bank is in need of volunteers to help stock shelves on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00am – 12:30pm. If you are available, we would really appreciate your help. Please contact Janice Anderson at 229-221-4758 or 229-226-7038 or at [email protected] if you are available to join us.

They are experiencing a shortage of nonperishable food items in this busy back to school season. Please bring donations to the Thomas County Food Bank at 430 N Broad Street during their operating hours Monday 3pm-5pm & Tuesdays/Thursday 9am-12:30pm or drop them off at the church office another time during the week.

FAMILY ADVENTURE TO JACKSONVILLE ZOOWe will visit the Jacksonville (FL) Zoo on Saturday, September 28, 2019. We will meet at the church at 7:00am and travel on the church bus. We will return to the church between 9:00pm and 10:00pm. The cost of this adventure is $20 per adult and $15 per child. This price includes transportation, zoo admission, unlimited zoo train rides and admission to Campground Critters, a show featuring rescue animals. This is a trip for parents and children to take together. All ages of parents and children are welcome! Adventurers will need to bring money for meals and snacks. Call the church office to reserve your spot!

AUDIO VOLUNTEERS NEEDEDOur worship services are in need of audio volunteers to help once or twice a month on Sunday mornings*. With the same new console now installed in both spaces, now is the best time to learn how! Tim Peck will hold a Training Workshop on Saturday, September 14 from 9-11am to teach basic sound operation for each worship service. Nursery care available! *Contemporary worship audio volunteers are also asked to participate in Wednesday rehearsals prior to their scheduled Sunday service.
