TRAINING CALENDAR2017-2018
Training is crucial for organizational development and success. It is fruitful for both employers and employees of an organization. An employee will become more efcient and productive if he is trained well. High quality and comprehensive training programs enable an organization to keep its workforce skilled. Training lls the gap between the “SKILLED AND NOT SKILLED” workforces. North-West Power Generation Company Limited always considers training as a dominant factor to enrich the skills, knowledge, efciencies of the employees. In spite of being of an engineering entity this Company also emphasizes on the training for all categories of employees as well as sufcient budget has been allocated accordingly. Foreign training is also imparted to the employees for the betterment of the organization as well as for their own career.
I hope that through proper implementation of this Training Calendar the employees will be able to enhance their skills and job related knowledge. After providing training, Participants Feedback, Training Effectiveness Evaluation should be carried out for better outcome of training which ultimately leads the organization to achieve its goals. I would like to convey my thanks to all the members involved for their strenuous efforts in preparing this training calendar.
Engr. A.M. Khurshedul AlamManaging Director
North-West Power Generation Company Ltd.

TRAINING CALENDAR2017-2018
PREFACE
Training is the process that provides employees with the Knowledge and the skills required to perform within the systems and standards set by management. Now a days training is the most important factor in the professional world since training increases the efciency and the effectiveness of both employees and the organization. A structured training and development program ensures that employees have a consistent experience and background knowledge. Employees who have more exposure in relation to training have better performance because there is an increase in both skills & competencies. Following this notion, North-West Power Generation Company Ltd. puts utter-most signicance on training for improving the corporate aptitudes and efciencies of its employees. To begin with, the company prepares the training module and training calendar correspondingly. Target for the scal year 2017-18 is to achieve at least 70 hours of training per employee. Following the success of last year, NWPGCL intends to meet the target for the scal year 2017-18 in due time. As per the training calendar, the existing ofcers and staffs will participate in around 220 (Two hundred and twenty) “In House Training” programs concerning Steam Turbine Operating Principles, Combined Cycle Power Plant, Gas Turbine Control Logic, Transformer Protection System, Operation and Maintenance of Power Plant, Control System of Power Plant, Total Quality Management, HR Management, Performance Management, Health & Safety etc. arranged by NWPGCL. The Ofce personnel will also engage in frequent training courses scheduled by Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB). Furthermore, the employees will partake in signicant training courses, workshops and seminars organized by renowned institutions namely NAPD, BIM, BIAM, IEB, ESCB, ICMAB, ICAB etc. Besides, the ofcials will regularly receive necessary “Foreign Trainings”.
