Transport options from Canberra airport to ANU Halls of ResidencesThere are three modes of public transportation available which students could use to get to the University halls of residences from the airport. These are:

1. Airport Express==========================================================================

The Airport Express shuttle bus offers airport-city services daily during peak periods. Tickets can be purchased from the car park customer service office located opposite the bus stop or can be pre-booked at www.royalecoach.com.au or by calling 1300 368 897. The bus stop is located kerbside upon exiting the arrivals hall.

Notes:The airport express bus will drop you at West Row street in Civic. From there you can either catch a taxi to the residences or walk to them. Walking will take between 10 – 30 minutes, depending on which residence you are in. For example, the Unilodges and Toad Hall are only a 10 minute walk from West Row, but the residences on Daley Road and Fenner Hall are about a 20-30 minute walk away.

The taxi rank is located centrally on the ground floor of the terminal building, just a short walk from the baggage carousels in the arrivals hall. There are three main taxi companies servicing the Canberra Airport area:

We recommend that you note down the full address of your residential hall just in case your taxi driver is not familiar with the location. For example, Burton and Garran Hall is Building 49, Daley Road Acton ACT 2601 and you should note down the full address.

3. Public buses==================================================================================

Public buses in Canberra are operated by ACTION (https://www.action.act.gov.au/rider_Info/new_to_action) . The most convenient and direct route from the airport is to take the Route 11 bus from the airport to the city centre, and then catch the Rout 3 if you are staying at B&G, Bruce, Burgmann College, Johns College, or Ursula Hall. If you are staying in one of the UniLodges or Toad Hall you can catch a bus from the airport to the city centre, and then walk to your residence by following the same route as the Airport Express option.

The nearest public bus stop is located 600 meters outside of the airport and takes about 5-10 minutes to walk to from the airport terminal. The bus timetable can be viewed here: https://www.action.act.gov.au/routes-network-14-improvements/Route-11-City.

**Please not that public buses do not have storage space for large pieces of luggage.
