Choice Neighborhood GoalsPeople: Support positive outcomes for families who live in the target development and the surrounding neighborhood, particularly outcomes related to residents’ Economic Self-Sufficiency, safety, employment, and mobility;
Housing: Transform distressed public and assisted housing into energy efficient, mixed-income housing that is physically and financially viable over the long-term;
Neighborhood: Transform distressed, high-poverty neighborhoods into viable, mixed-income and sustainable neighborhoods with access to well-functioning services, high quality public schools and Economic Self-Sufficiency programs, high quality early learning programs and services, public transportation, and improved access to jobs.
Comprehensive Needs Assessment
Transportation Outcome Improved access to neighborhood transportation for education, health, jobs, replacement housing, supportive services, food, pharmacy and banking. Increased public transportation, walking and biking choices for all age groups including the disabled.
Metrics to Measure Achievement:
• Number and percentage of people by age group and disabled who rely on public transportation, walking and bicycle. •Type and number of transportation choices for Lee Apartments residents, public housing residents temporarily and permanently relocated from Lee Apartments , and those living in the target neighborhood. •Number and percentage of people reporting inability to access public transportation within one-half mile of their start and end points.

Other: •Saturday service•More routes•more frequent stops<longer hours to match workers needs, reduce driver talking•To be cheaper and safer•Go further out•Buses run every 15 mins instead of hourly•Expand and make a regional transportation service between Kingsport, Bristol, and Johnson City•City to city service, transfer stops to other buses to travel long distances for people that need to do it like in Florida and other big places.
