Message from Race Director
Hello Racers!
I would like to extend a warm welcome to all TriLobster participants, families and friends. I hope you have a wonderful weekend in the beautiful city of Summerside. The city and surrounding area offer lovely beaches, amazing golf courses, camping, biking, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, theatre and restaurants. The TriLobster swim is located in a sheltered area of the Summerside harbor, great for new as well as experienced swimmers. The bike course is flat and fast with a few sharp turns. The run is a flat out and back on the scenic Summerside boardwalk.
I hope you have a great experience at TriLobster Triathlon. Be strong and race safely.
Good Luck!
Marian Grant

Draft Legal Information
Eligibility of BikesUnder International Triathlon Union (ITU) and Triathlon Canada Competition Rules, the
following restrictions on bicycles and bicycle equipment will be in force for the TriLobster Triathlon in Summerside, PE on August 18th 2019.
Wheel and bike-checks will not be performed beyond the following: 1) The bicycle must be of a traditional double diamond shape - Beam-style bicycles, including but not limited to Softrides, are not allowed2) It must conform with the UCI frame templates 3) A UCI frame homologation sticker is not required 4) Wheels must have more than 12 spokes 5) Front and rear wheels must be of equal diameter 6) Disc wheels and wheel covers are not allowed 7) Disc brakes are allowed 8) Toe-clips are not allowed 9) Handlebars must be traditional "drop" road handlebars 10) Clip-on aerobars ("Tribars") of any length, including draft-legal "shorty" aerobars are not allowed
Draft Legal Guidelines1. Swim: Athletes from different genders and age groups will be mixed in a wave
start if numbers warrant. 2. Bike: Athletes that are lapped in the bike leg will not be removed3. Applying rules and penalties will consider that the event is of a developmental
class. Therefore, whenever practical participants will be advised to correct any violation rather than being penalized. Instead of time penalties a “stop and go” penalty will be applied when required. When penalty times are to be applied the LOC may opt for adding the penalty time to the final race time rather than establishing a penalty box.
