All Souls Day Masses

For the fifth year in a row, our local Extraordinary Form

communities are cooperating to offer a special evening of prayer

on All Souls Day. It is a great act of charity for those of us on

Earth to pray for the Souls in Purgatory on this important day in

the Church calendar.

This year’s All Souls Day location will be Assumption Church in

Windsor. On Friday, November 2 at 6:00 PM two Low Masses

will be offered on the Side Altars of the church. At 7:00 PM a

Solemn High Mass with Deacon and Subdeacon will be offered at

the High Altar, followed by Solemn Absolution at the Catafalque.

A plenary indulgence may be gained by those who visit a church

on All Souls Day and pray an Our Father and Creed in the church.

Tridentine Mass at Holy Redeemer this Friday

This Friday, October 26 at 7:30 PM, Detroit’s historic Holy

Redeemer Church will hold its second Tridentine High Mass.

Holy Redeemer has a large Hispanic community, so Latin/Spanish

as well as Latin/English Propers handouts will be provided, and

the homily will be given in Spanish as well as English.

Young adults age 18-35 are invited to a dinner following the

Mass, sponsored by Juventútem Michigan. Further information

may be found on the [bilingual] Facebook event page entitled

“Misa mensual y cena: Most Holy Redeemer”.

New Facebook Site and Event Pages

Juventútem organizer Paul Schultz was one of the original users of

Facebook; he was a student at Harvard at the time Facebook was

founded. It is no surprise that Paul has made extensive use of

Facebook in publicizing the Juventútem events that have been

held at St. Josaphat and elsewhere in recent months.

Take a page from Paul’s book, Matthew Charbonneau has recently

created a Facebook page for the Windsor Tridentine Community
