    GREETING

Priest: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Assembly: Amen

Priest: The Lord be with you. Assembly: And with your spirit.

    The Confiteor

I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, [striking breast three times] through my fault, through my fault, through my

most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary, ever-virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you my brothers and sisters, to

pray for me to the Lord our God.

Priest: May almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.

    Assembly: Amen.

    Liturgy of the Word

    First Reading

    Exodus 34: 4b-6, 8-9

Early in the morning Moses went up Mount Sinai as the LORD had commanded him, taking along the two stone tablets.

Having come down in a cloud, the LORD stood with Moses there and proclaimed his name, "LORD." Thus the LORD

passed before him and cried out, "The LORD, the LORD, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in

kindness and fidelity." Moses at once bowed down to the ground in worship. Then he said, "If I find favor with you, O

Lord, do come along in our company. This is indeed a stiff-necked people; yet pardon our wickedness and sins, and

    receive us as your own."

    Response - Daniel 3:52-55

To you glory and praise for evermore.

    II Corinthians 13:11-13

Brothers and sisters, rejoice. Mend your ways, encourage one another, agree with one another, live in peace, and the

God of love and peace will be with you. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the holy ones greet you. The grace of the

Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you.

    Gospel Acclamation

Deacon (or Priest): The Lord be with you.

    Assembly: And with your spirit.

Deacon (or Priest): A reading from the holy Gospel according to John. Assembly: Glory to you, O Lord.

    Gospel Proclamation

    John 3:16-18

God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have

eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved

through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been

condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

Deacon (or Priest): The gospel of the Lord.

Assembly: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

    Homily

    Creed

I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light

from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, (All bow at the following words up to: and became man.)and by

the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.

For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in

accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in

glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the

Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets.

I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the

resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.

  • Liturgy of the Eucharist 10:00 Preparation of the Gifts

St. Patrick’s Breastplate - Charles Villiers Stanford

I bind unto myself today, the strong name of the Trinity, By invocation of the same, the Three in One, and One in Three.

I bind this day to me for ever, by power of faith, Christ’s Incarnation; His baptism in Jordan river; His death on cross

for my salvation; His bursting from the spiced tomb; His riding up the heavenly way; His coming at the day of doom; I

    bind unto myself today.

I bind unto myself the power of the great love of Cherubim; the sweet “Well done” in judgement hour; the service of the

Seraphim, Confessors’ faith, Apostles’ word, the Patriarchs’ prayers, the Prophets’ scrolls, all good deeds done unto the

Lord, and purity of virgin souls.

Christ be with me, Christ within me, Christ behind me, Christ before me, Christ beside me, Christ to win me, Christ to

    comfort and restore me.

Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ in quiet, Christ in danger, Christ in hearts of all that love me, Christ in

    mouth of friend and stranger.

I bind unto myself today, the strong name of the Trinity, By invocation of the same, the Three in One, and One in Three.

Of whom all nature hath creation; Eternal Father, Spirit, Word: praise to the Lord of my salvation, salvation is of Christ

    the Lord. Amen.
