Back to School Hot Dog Barbecue

and Ice Cream Social September 13, 11:30am

The annual Back to School Hot Dog Barbecue and Ice Cream Social will be held on Sunday, September 13th, immediately following Church Service. Please invite your family and friends to join us. We will provide the hot dogs and fixings and, this year, even the ice cream. All you need to provide is the toppings for the sundaes. A sign up sheet is posted in the Social Hall to attend, bring toppings, and/or to help serve, set up or clean up. Sign up to come even if you are not bringing anything. We need you to sign up for a count for purchasing the food.

To the Saints who are in Los Osos, Thank you to everyone for such a warm and enthusiastic welcome. Rachel and I have been truly overwhelmed. Thank you to everyone who has remembered to wear their name tags. It has been a real help as I get to know you. Rachel is particularly grateful since she is concerned about her ability to learn names.

I especially thank all of those who have set times to meet with me so that we can get to know each other. I have had a great deal of fun sharing time, coffee, and even meals with you, and I look forward to developing and deepening our relationships.

Finally I want to thank everyone for their interest in our move and your continued prayers. If everything goes perfectly, our escrow will close in mid August and we should be here in Los Osos by September. Until then I am still commuting from Lompoc. It has been exhausting, but Rachel remarked as we drove to church on Sunday the 19th, “I’ve never seen you so happy coming home from church before.” It has truly been a joy-filled time for me as we have begun our ministry here together.

LATE SUMMER BIBLE STUDY Tuesdays at 10am

Food Pantry Volunteers Needed Trinity’s emergency food pantry program is being revamped to move the picku-up point from the office to the kitchen patio. Effective Sep 1st, emergency food boxes will be available on Tuesdays and Fridays, 10am to 12 noon. In order to do this, volunteers are needed in the kitchen to greet those coming for food boxes, record the distribution information and hand out the pre-packed boxes. Because the kitchen is more isolated than the rest of the office, this is best done in pairs. Can you give 2 hours a week to this ministry? Volunteer with a friend or sign up on your own and make a new friend. Contact Eileen Murta or sign up on Sunday morning if you are called to this ministry.
