PREZ RELEASE
TRIUMPHANT LADIES
Are gathering together on an e-maillist! What’s that about??? It’s acasual way for us ladies to stay intouch about who is going to an event, meeting, trip or drive. We can alsohelp each other stay informed aboutanything that comes up, such as ifsomeone has surgery, or becomes ill, gets a new car or wins an award for ashow. Knowing someone cares isalways welcome! Also, this has thepotential for growth into more, suchas our own events and gatherings, etc. It’s our own so it can be as muchor little as we want to make of it.There are already a few on my list, andare added only by request. To beincluded in this fun (I hope!) venture, please email me. [email protected] you everyone!!!Nancy
PREZ RELEASE
The April MN Triumph meetingwas on a beautiful Spring day andthe lot was full of membersexcited about the upcomingdriving season. I myself managedto drive my TR4 project car andmade it both ways without abreakdown. But what an experi-ence compared to a TR6. Lots ofrattles and shakes but I love the“tractor” motor (Yes, I know it’s amyth that the motor is a tractormotor…similar, maybe).
I asked for a show of hands forTriumphs going to the JuneRendezvous in Kenora, Ontarioand was greeted with manymembers (did not get a count)ready to go to Canada on aNorthern adventure. Remember, you need a passport and whenyou enter they want to know ifyou have any guns…..when youreturn home they want to know ifyou have any fish!
For those of you that are, and arenot, wedge owners, Jon Meierforwarded a link to an interestingarticle written about what it’s liketo drive a TR7 or TR8. I remem-ber driving a TR7 hardtop back in1976 and thought it was prettycomfy compared to a TR6. Theauthor pointed out that the produc-tion numbers on the wedge werethe most for any Triumph and heconcluded it is a very nice road-ster (or coupe) to drive andworthy of consideration if you arelooking to fill another stall in yourgarage. Also, the looks of themare greatly improved by addingmags one size up from stock.
On a closing note from an oldmotorcycle racer, a few words of
Triumph wisdom that justbecause a carburetor worksgreat on a snowmobile ormotorcycle, that doesn’t mean itwill work on an old TR4 (that’sall I will say for now!…..).
Regards,
Terry NeumanPresident MN Triumphs

VTR REPORT MAY 2016
Hello from S Florida for the last timethis snowbird season. I know theweather is finally coming around inMn, but here in S FL the AtlanticOcean was almost flat yesterday asthe wind was almost non-existent.The water was a beautiful clear aquamarine and very few folks were at thebeach to enjoy this pristine sight asmany folks have migrated north withall the other birds. TR driving must bein full swing as I read so much on theTr blog. Raja TV was the hot onetonight where all the guys tried to killthemselves going over cliffs andwrecking barns and vineyards. Wehead north on May 12 or 13 and theSolara and I are not quite ready forthat hot driving. We will probablymiss the May meeting but plan to seeyou all in Kenora. I have booked a flyin to Snowshoe Lake. It will be a 4day walleye and northern pike festivalif anyone cares to join me. I think wehave room for 3 more in the outpostcabin which sits near the lake and isactually in Manitoba. Cost is aboutan extra 1100 for the fly in and cabin, boats and all our fuel. Start pickingnight crawlers. If we catch no fish atleast we will have lots of ice for thebeer as they harvest it from the lake inthe winter for our beer in the summer.
So Gayle and I are looking to visit allof you and hopefully caravan or atleast meet up with some for the driveto the Sunset Country. We may stayin Duluth and drive in the next day.We probably signed up too late forthe boat ride, but I’ll be riding boatsfor 4 days in Bear and moose country.Much more fun.
Once more time I will give you theinfo so hopefully you are signed andready for the VTR convention. Asyou know, 2016 will find us all back inTexas as the Red River Tr club will beour host once again from Oct 3-7. Itwill be held in North Texas at theTanglewood Resort on Lake Texomain Pottsboro, Texas. Cost will be $135for 1 car, 1 driver and 1 non driver. You will get a $15 discount if youregister by August 15 of 2016. Youmay come without a Triumph for $20reg fee. Rooms are $99 for any King(probably not available). You may call800 833 6569 which gets you right tothe resort. Be sure to say you will bejoining Red River Triumphs on thosedates. All rooms are going fast. Allking rooms are gone, but who knowsmaybe someone has cancelled.
So be sure to join “The VintageTriumph Register” as you must be amember to go to the convention. For
$35 you will receive 6 beautiful issuesof the magazine. With that you getanother source for technical consult-ants, the annual convention whichbrings hundreds together at variouslocations throughout the country. Also available is regalia and specialrates on insurance. VTR is our sourcefor insurance for all events we host.Check it out at www.vtr.org.
We are looking forward to seeing lotsof you at the Rendezvous in June. With a little luck, we hope we make itto Texas and maybe we can havesome of new members join us in Texasfor the VTR convention. Check to seewho’s going below. Winter has gonefast and so will this summer, guaran-teed!
